Overall it makes a lot of sense to stay overnight in Hallstatt. You get a completely different feeling of the city when you go around the streets after 7/8pm when tourists from the buses have left and the lights are on. This hotel delivers everything you need for a short stay: - Fantastic location - Modern, but traditional style room with a fresh renovation - Small hotel, so the owner manages almost everything himself and you get personalized attention - Good breakfast - Nice view from the room with the balcony Considering everything above and the paid price it was a very good deal and I'm very happy with our stay here.

You need to try hard to find anything disappointing about this hotel, but here are a couple of points which might be important for someone: - a mattress is on the softer side, so if you are used to a hard one, you may be disappointed. However, it's still very comfy and you most probably not going to stay in Hallstatt more than 1-2 nights anyway - there is no "hot" part of the breakfast, due to kitchen/bar limitations. So if you need porridge/sausage/omelette/etc. - you won't get it here

Wonderful stay!! We parked in one of the commercial lots for about $25/night. Walked about a half mile to the hotel. Great location in the center of town. Owners are very nice. The room was great!! Bed was comfortable!! Breakfast was one of the best that we had the whole week we traveled!! Homemade everything including the yogurt. Lots of selections. Fresh fruits and juice. Would definitely return. Loved Hallstatt, super cute, walkable town. Lots of cute shops. The salt mine tour was the best!!! We loved Hallstatt and I Da Mitt!!!

Just advise for others, not a complaint. Have euros, we did not and many of the places there take cash only. This was our own fault.

what did we like about this hotel?- EVERYTHING!! what a gem! Friendly staff, beautiful hotel. Recently remodeled and beautifully decorated. The attention to detail is just unbelievable. The owner is a local and cares very much about his business, it's evident in the details, such as rooms, breakfast, comfortable bed and pillows,conversations.abour the area.We felt very welcomed and relaxed there. One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. We are not surprised that they are sold out often .If we are ever back to Hallstatt, this is where we are staying. Thank you for the wonderful time !!!

The location, location, location - 5-stars. The I da Mitt is located on the Hallstatt town square. The hotel was recently renovated to a 5-star accommodation. Our room is large with windows opening onto the town square. The breakfast food was delicious. Our host, Tom, is friendly and offered helpful recommendations for restaurants and thing to do while visiting Hallstatt.

Our room (No. 2) is located above the bar which is suppose to close at 10:00. One one night the bar stayed open until 11:30 PM. The noise from bar patrons talking caused us to close the windows and use ear plugs for sleep. Additionally, most of the bar patrons smoke which caused us to keep the windows closed. We would have preferred to keep the windows open to enjoy the fresh mountain air. So if you're sensitive to late night noise or cigarette smoke, the I da Mitt would not be good choice.

The location is simple to reach from the train/ferry and is in the beautiful main square. During the day/evening the property doubles as a bar (we couldn’t hear it from the rooms), and it has the perfect vibe for some casual beers. The rooms were incredibly cosy and comfortable, we fell asleep to the sound of a running stream and then were so comfy we cancelled our morning plans to have a sleep in. Breakfast was delicious and we felt very well looked after with freshly made coffee and boiled eggs to our liking - they also played great music! They were happy to hold our bags before and after checkout, which made exploring Hallstatt really easy. Everything about I da Mitt was perfect and we loved our stay here.

We loved everything. The location is fabulous, right on the main square and a 2 minute walk to the boat (if coming by train and boat). The building is just lovely and our room was so beautiful. Very cosy, elegantly furnished and decorated, and the sound of the river when we opened up the window was the most relaxing thing to fall asleep to. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and very intimate. There are only 4 rooms in this beautiful place so you'll never feel crowded. Don't hesitate to book I da Mitt so you can get away from the crowds during the day and spend a relaxing night in Hallstatt!

Just keep in mind to eat early if you're staying outside the high season. We stayed in April so it was definitely still the shoulder season. We stayed out taking photos of the beautiful sunset and decided to get dinner at around 7:30pm. We only found one restaurant open and it seemed to be the most expensive one in town, but admittedly it was a delicious and romantic meal.

This B&B is very comfortable with a delicious continental breakfast. It is in the main square so can be noisy, but everything was quiet by about 10.30pm so this was not a problem for us. This location also means you are close to the restaurants, bars and that beautiful lake. My husband loved to take his breakfast coffee out into the square and sit and absorb the ambiance. We loved I da Mitt and would highly recommend it.

The noise could be a problem for some but we loved soaking up the ambiance.

Breakfast was more extensive than expected with fresh vegetables, cheeses, meats. Locally made yougurt and a made to order boiled egg rounded out breaking our fast. The staff was lovely. The bartender was personable, the breakfast lady sweet and smiling and the housekeepers friendly and happy to help with anything asked. The proprietor (Peter?) was on site and made us feel most welcome. ***the music in the main room was awesome! Phil Collins and similar artist added to the perfect vine. Overall, OUTSTANDING!

We didn’t stay long enough!

I da Mitt is a very small B&B with a bar downstairs that turns into a breakfast area in the morning. Since Hallstatt is a car-free town we parked our car in the public parking lot for hotel guests; we paid €45 for three nights. The shuttle from the parking lot to the hotel runs frequently; we were dropped off very close to the hotel entrance. We loved the location because it was easy to walk to wherever we wanted to go. Our room on the second floor overlooked the central area of this hamlet. It was spacious, clean and comfortable - we enjoyed the warmth of the room; the woodwork is especially beautiful. In the evening it was nice to order a drink from the bar area and be able to take it outside to the center courtyard and enjoy the scenery or take it to our room and enjoy the view of the courtyard from above.

Although the breakfast was good we felt more hot options should have been provided for the price we paid. Previous reviews mentioned how friendly and helpful the manager was, but the tourist information center was more helpful to us than he was.

We absolutely loved our stay at I da Mitt! Our room was spacious, very clean, and the staff was always welcoming and friendly. We were lucky to have the balcony, which was incredible! We enjoyed coffee and wine with a mountain view every day. The location in the heart of Hallstatt is ideal, bustling and close to attractions during the day and quiet at night. We highly recommend staying here!

The only fault we found was that our room got hot and stuffy at night; however, we don't think we could have found a better spot!
