Holiday Inn - Salzburg City, an IHG Hotel

Exactly what you would expect for a Holiday Inn. Not luxurious, but very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was particularly delicious. Location was quite far from the city centre, we didn't mind the walk, but might be a huge negative for others.

They open breakfast at 6.30am, we had a flight to catch and had to leave at 6.15am, the breakfast staff were what I thought a little unreasonable to not allow us to take some bread and fruit already laid out ready for breakfast. We had already paid for breakfast for every morning, and it's not like we were expecting them to cook us a bespoke meal. Just wanted some bread and fruit to take on the journey. So thought this was a little mean! But apart from that, it was a lovely hotel.

- It was very loud in the room due to car traffic - the isolation from the street wasn’t surprisingly not good, this should be fixed (suggestion) - Gym was not satisfactory, I would have rather preferred to have a voucher to go to a preferred a gym next by (suggestion) - parking: you indicate that you have parking options, where there were only limited parking slots + you have different pricing for outdoor VS indoor parking = a nightmare!! This is how you treat your customers?! This should not be the case - Personell at the reception wasn’t friendly, she was very cautious if we have booked all correct - and we did! but her look and facial impressions have us an indication we were not welcomed

Location was great. Within walking distance to the Salzburg Main Station and other attraction. Bed was comfortable and super fluffy comforter. Love it. We asked for a queen/king bed but was given a twin bed instead, hotel occupancy is high. Hotel bar at the lobby. Don’t drive here as there are limited Carpark and you have to pay a fee to park there.

Good breakfast spread. The rooms are a bit small and cramped. The location is not the best and the surrounding is okay. The food was good, with good variety for everyone.

The rooms are small, there is no view at all. They should provide laundry bags in the room. There is a bus stop close by but the frequency is not as good. The hotel is overpriced although it is not located in a prime locality.

Hands down the friendliest and most welcoming staff I have ever encountered in a hotel. My boyfriend, pup and I throughly would recommend staying at this hotel!

Very helpful ,friendly staff at the reception and at breakfast. Front desk staff helped a lot in booking tours and giving guidance for travel. Breakfast was a good spread. Excellent location, well connected.

The restaurant could have been open for timings other than breakfast also.

The hotel is about 10-15 minute walk from the centre of the old town and the attractions there but we quite enjoyed walking around and finding out what was going on. Everything and everyone in the hotel was pleasant though when we went it was very quiet. There is a great restaurant near by just go down the alley at side of the garage opposite, it is called Sternbrau. Lots of nice cafés around.

The hotel was fine but only served breakfast, it was difficult to find somewhere to eat on Sunday and Monday night as places were closed.

The breakfast was excellent. The bar was sufficient. The receptionists were very helpful. They provided a map, places to eat. complimentary drinks, were very friendly and attentive to my needs.

Not much. I was overall happy with the experience. Perhaps more than one coffee maker to make the lines go by quickly, but overall it was not that much of an issue.

Clean room, daily cleaning, pleasant staff, nice bar. DIdnt use the restaurant so cannot comment

Nothing i could think of specifically. The location was a little further away from the main town than i realised but that is not a fault of the hotel I need to do more research when booking

It was a nice normal hotel, too expensive for its value. Location is OK if you want to go outside the city.

There was an electricity problem in the rooms in my floor, it took many hours to fix it. No compensation was offered
