Goldenes Theater Hotel Salzburg

The hotel is excellent, confortable, very clean, full and delicious breakfast, and is very well located.

I booked the hotel thinking it had a garage. However, the garage, in addition to being paid, was always full. On the first day, I was misguided by the receptionist, who said that I could pay on the next street without informing that there is a right place for it. When I got to the car, even though I had paid for street parking, I got a ticket. Only later did the other receptionist provide better guidance on where to park on the street. I was quite disappointed, but there was nothing else to do.

Spacious updated room with an AC that works! We stayed during the start of a recent heatwave, so a cool room really helped. Very nice breakfast we had al fresco overlooking the garden. For 10 Euros, we had hot food, cold cuts, and a wide variety of bread and pastries, fresh fruits. This is really an awesome deal. Plus, walking distance to Old Town and Mirabell Palace and Gardens.

Very friendly staff, the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was good. We asked for baby cot and it was provided, asked to leave our laptops on the reception at check out, so we can visit the city, it wasn't a problem. We traveled with out dog, there's a 7 EUR fee, I guess because of extra cleaning because nothing was provided for the dog (in other hotels where there's a fee, at least a bowl and dog bed/mat is provided).

There was only liquid soap in the bathroom, I guess the kind that can be used as body and hair wash as well but I really would have liked a shampoo and conditioner. I guess it's done to reduce waste and plastic packaging but a dispenser for 2-in-1 shampoo & conditioner would have made the trick.

Located close to the old town - so everything is reachable on foot, even for the kids. There's plenty of parking available nearby. We arrived on the weekend and had no problem finding a free parking space on the street, but there's also garage parking available. The staff were super attentive and helpful. Breakfast is great - plenty to choose from. Rooms are modern and spacious, beds are comfy.

Nothing really. Kids kicked a toy under the bed and it came out a bit dusty :) but other than that - the rooms were spotless.

Hotel is in a great location for walking to many of the highlights of Salzburg. Easy to find from train station.

Did not like that you cannot keep the electricity running while you are out of the room due to using the room key to turn the electricity on. Made having a fridge useless.

The receptionist was rude (his name is Arthur). He hung up the phone on me when I asked for a bed sheet & then when I called back he didn’t answer the phone!!!! I had to go downstairs with my PJ’s on to take the bedsheet myself. When I got downstairs & asked him why isn’t he answering the phone he stuttered acting as if he doesn’t know even one English word!!! Not even the word “Bed”!! Even though he told my friends “Collegue” in a previous conversation 🙃 But I received an official apology from the hotel, which is amazing as they care about their customers.

Booked for ourselves and Austrian friends and we were delighted with the hotel - for it's convenience, comfort and general ambience. Will be happy to book again next time we come to Salzburg in the New year. Friends drove us to the hotel, and after worrying about where they were going to park, I was delighted to receive an email, within the hour, telling me exactly where the nearby parking was located.

Everything was spot on. Had read the previous reviews and would not disagree with any of the top ones.

Very good breakfast, location is handy to a popular pedestrian zone for restaurants and shopping. Public transportation very close as well. My room seemed up-to-date with modern fixtures.

My room had a standard sized 1m x 1m shower. As a larger traveler, I struggled to squeeze in and out the space past the sliding glass doors. Additionally, I reported that the toilet seat needed to simply be tightened to keep it from moving, but maintenance staff did not address this issue. I tightened the nut myself with my bare hand, but wasn't able to secure it, completely.

Close to the city centre. Good breakfast.

First location 200 m to the centre, 10 minute walk to the train station, personal very helpful and friendly. Because of early check out breakfast was served 30 minutes early. Breakfast was diverse and delicious! I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone. Affordable price.👍
