- The interior design of the lobby was beautiful and the facilities were really nice. - The breakfast buffet was great. - The location was perfect. - The staff was very friendly and helpful.

- The safe in the room didn't open with the correct code, staff told us that this tends to happen. - The TV wasn't tuned, only option was Netflix (which was fine for us). - We had to order coffee for breakfast from the waiting staff who seemed a little overwhelmed on the weekend. - Hotel doesn't have its own parking garage.

The room was VERY comfortable. Clean and everything looked new. We loved the option to open the windows for fresh air. We stayed on the 4th floor - it was nice and quiet. The breakfast was GREAT -wide variety, fresh, and very tasty. The staff was so lovely and informative. The location was excellent. Close to the tram, museums, and park.

The price was a bit high. When someone from a room near us left the room, when the door closed behind them it made a lot of noise.

It was very hot (including at night) and the lack of AC (albeit for reasons that I do appreciate) made for some uncomfortable nights.

very nice room, we had the large room, very spacious with a balcony and a very nice design. very clean with all needed USB and standard plugs, nice coffee maker and boiler. it felt like been home. the location was very central. and easy access to all kind of public transport. the breakfast was a la carte a kind of modern twist dishes very good. the dining area was very warm with a lot of plants, makes you really feel at peace.

great property nothing to dislike.

My husband was completely blown away with this hotel, said it was the most stylish place I’ve ever booked for us. We both loved it, definitely go for the top loft room if possible. Location was perfect for exploring the imperial buildings and museums. We loved the gift of chocolates and found the bed really comfortable. This was the 3rd place we stayed on our trip across Austria and the only one with aircon, was a relief to sleep well after a week of hot rooms. Breakfast was also very good.

Gilbert Hotel is a green oasis in the centre of the city! The staff are incredible - really helpful, friendly, and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The gymn was well-equipped for a hotel gymn - didn't get round to trying out the sauna, but looked spacious. The hotel breakfast is great for vegetarians with a wide range of veg, eggs, sweet and savoury breads and pastries, and a lovely overnight oats. We really enjoyed chilling in the hotel, reading amongst the plants under the glass atrium. We hired bikes from the hotel to get around, which were much cheaper than renting from a bike shop - and Vienna is a joy to cycle around.

The only negative for us was the room - it was a lot smaller than expected, and did not quite resemble the pictures on Booking.com - the bathroom was not a cool white tiled room, but more of an 80's beige and the shower was very cramped (shower cabinet, not wet-room). It didn't quite meet our expectations for a 4-star hotel - it was more like a 3-star room in a 4-star hotel, because the rest was great. But we didn't spend that much time in the room anyway as there was so much to see and do in Vienna - we would come back again to Gilbert - and ask for a different room.

Breakfast was a bit hit and miss. There appeared to be an al la carte menu that was not offered to us (not sure if this perhaps was not included in our package - was not explained to us). There appeared to be a policy of minimalism in what was put on the buffet. We stayed for 4 nights and at each breakfast we had to ask for eggs and bacon to be produced- and the bacon was seriously overcooked on 3 of 4 mornings. They even ran out of bread on our last morning. The coffee and tea was made in the bar which was a bit of distance away from the breakfast area so usually arrived a long time after requesting it and we had to ask for milk every day. Juice ran out every day too. All told, not a bad breakfast experience but a few simple tweaks would make a bug difference-especially putting a coffee station in the breakfast area.

Sunday evening and the bar wasn't even open, which was a shame. I'd really appreciate a desk in the room, it made computer work a little challenging.

What an amazing hotel room! We had a separate living area equipped with a record player with records. We also had a lovely terrace to sit and unwind after a long day of walking the city. The room gave off a 60's vibe which was really nice. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, nothing seemed too much of an ask. We had guests come around for drinks and snacks and were able to get extra glasses, plates and bowels. It felt as if I was hosting in my own home. The breakfast was delicious with an amazing spread each morning. The hotel decor had a lot of greenery which was a welcoming feel when you are in the heart of a city.

Very helpful staff and beautiful place to stay, I could rest well there. Room was very spacious and clean; great choice for breakfasts especially if you like modern vegetarian cuisine with a touch of hipster soul :) it was not a problem to store our suitcases there after checkout and they offered us help with carrying them.

My boyfriend did not like the breakfast because everything they offered was cold, including rice and oatmeal. BUT we went to complain about it and got a refund of money we paid for breakfasts so overall it was a good experience :)
