This hotel is exceptional, it’s beautifully designed, very relaxing and in a great location for enjoying all that Bruges has to offer. We stayed for 3 nights in a junior suite and it was very comfortable. It had a jacuzzi bath and a shower and a Nexpresso machine & tea making facilities. The breakfasts were delicious and the outside terrace was fabulous for breakfast, a drink or afternoon tea. The owners and all the staff are welcoming and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again

Beutiful elegant hotel whit a rich history which dates back 600 years. Everything is beautifully presented throughout the hotel . Great location not in a noisy crowded street with a beautiful terrace on the canal. Very Helpful, friendly and attentive staff. We have immediately felt welcomed. Our room was spacious with an upstairs loft. Breakfast was delicious ,fulfilling and fresh. Served with over the top tiered tray of pastries and bread. We have really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Would not hesitate to recommend .

Staying at the Hotel Van Cleef is an amazing experience. We were treated like family our entire visit. Frederik is an incredibly gracious and knowledgeable host. Upon arriving our luggage was whisked away, we were given a tour of the property and a lovely welcome drink on the back patio overlooking the canal. Throughout our stay the Van Cleef team was warm and helpful (especially Benjamin who makes a mean martini!! He treated us with the utmost care and is a great conversationalist). We would recommend the Van Cleef to anyone visiting Bruges and we can’t wait to return!

This is an exceptional place to stay in Bruges. It's located on a side street of the city center, so it's very conveniently located. When we walked through the entrance, we were struck by the quiet beauty of the hotel, and friendly staff who made us feel welcome. The staff are multi-lingual, approachable, not stuffy, and eager to help with any questions you might have. The rooms are exquisitely decorated. This is quiet luxury at its finest - - beautiful sheets on a just-right mattress, and attentive, unpretentious service. Not to be missed.

A truly exceptional experience in every way. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. A beautiful historic estate remodeled as a hotel. Outstanding location on the edge of the historic area, but on the edge, so also quiet. On a canal, so beautiful location on the water. Outstanding breakfast in the backyard, on the canal, pastries, fruit, and hot options. The hotel owners made it feel more like we were house guests in a private residence, and helped with every aspect of our stay, including transportation, dinner reservations, gave us a tour of the property. Room was large, comfortable, amazing view of the water.

The terrace is very nice. Air conditioners works as they should so you can make the room really cold. Sound insulation is also good. The beds are comfortable. The staff are very patient and welcoming

it’s a shame you can’t order any snacks if you want to have a glass of wine on the terrace. Also they close the terrace at 23.00 and I’d personally would love to stay on it a bit longer

An absolute gem of a place to stay canal side where you can relax and watch the world go by. The decor and styling throughout the property is exquisite and rooms very comfortable. The hotel was very quiet yet only 5 minute walk to the centre or a bike ride away from other locations (the hotel has free bikes for guests) the staff are friendly, informative and professional - some of the best I have experienced across the globe.

Stunning property inside and out. The rooms were well maintained and tidied for us twice a day. The terrace was a gorgeous, peaceful place to sit and enjoy a drink. The staff were exceptional and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, even bringing cakes and a free drink as they knew the stay was to celebrate a special birthday. I couldn’t recommend the hotel enough, by far the best place we have ever stayed.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every possible way! From the moment we stepped out of the taxi and Rebecca greeted us by name we knew we were in for a treat! Frederik, Rebecca and Benjamin made our stay so special with their attention to our every need. The hotel itself is gorgeous! Our room was quite large with a very lovely bathroom and incredible air conditioning! Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the canal was delightful and delicious! Our favorite part of the day was coming back in the afternoon to drinks on the terrace. You must enjoy a Gin and Tonic, made by Benjamin, or an Apperol Spritz, made by Rebecca! Simply the best! My husband and I would come back to Bruges just so we could spend another night at the Van Cleef!

Beautifully appointed, comfortable beds, lovely terrace, centrally located.

Location on the canal means there might be few bugs in the room and an unpleasant smell at times when you come back to the room from being away for a few hours, but this dissipates quickly.
