The location, near to the station, was just right, and very easy to find. Although a little far from the centre of town, it was next to excellent bus routes, and I used public transport on my visit. My room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful - with excellent English! I didn't book breakfast, as I felt it was rather expensive (18 Euros) for the amount of breakfast I usually have. Should mention that my mobility is not good (dodgy knees!) but this didn't spoil my enjoyment of Ghent or the hotel - which has a lift! I'd definitely stay there again.

The price of breakfast was a bit steep, but otherwise, nothing.

Clean spacious rooms. Super friendly and welcoming staff. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the station and 5 min away to the centre by the tram. The room contained a mini bar, a fridge and heating system in the room and bathroom which I always appreciate.

One night the noise from the TV next room kept reaching me until a late hour. Not sure if that was the sound-proofing fault or the neighbors fault for keeping the volume high. Despite that I slept very well.

The staff, the room size, very silent. The staff was marvelous. The breakfast was very good, the eggs a la carte a real good perk.The parking was decent and the staff was kind to allow us to leave the car for a couple of hours after check out. Damn good staff all around.

I had reserved a parking spot for our stay and the hotel staff had confirmed that by message via Booking. At check in, the parking reservation wasn’t there. Fortunately, spots were available, but the hotel can offer only six parking spots so certainty that you will de guaranteed a parking spot.

Our room was lovely. It was bright and spacious and we felt very comfortable and relaxed. The bed was magnificently comfortable and I had my best sleep in ages. The breakfast room is cosy and the food offered was delicious and fresh. The cooked breakfast was made to order. The hotel is an easy ten minute walk from the train station.

We were very happy with the hotel. However, for some travellers it may a bit far from the city centre, about a half hour walk. There is a tram stop five minutes walk away, costs €2.50 and takes you right into the city centre.

To begin with, we arrived early and were able to get into our room before check-in time. Hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. As soon as we got there, she gave us a city map and helped us with directions to the places we wanted to go (as well as suggest other sites to visit). There was an overall feeling of warmth and welcome. Our room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Each morning we had breakfast in the hotel. It had the usual buffet items, but also provided cooked-to-order food such as omelets. When we checked out, again our host was friendly and we had a very nice chat with him. The location is great with easy access to train station, restaurants, and sights of the city. Wonderful place!

Nothing! Or maybe that I couldn't stay longer!

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Carlton - the room was spacious and clean, and the location was very convenient near the main train station and a short walk from the tram that took you into central Ghent. The staff was excellent and very helpful - we had to leave a day earlier than we anticipated, and the reception allowed us to change our reservation so we didn’t have to pay for the extra day we had booked.

The room didn’t have AC - they do provide a fan in the room, but if you are traveling to Ghent in the summer and you’re sensitive to heat, the rooms may get a little hot.

We had the deluxe double on 6th floor It was fabulous ..bed was one of the best so far ..balcony also great ., and tub a r treat ..the reception “ gals” all great and spoke English ..a bonus for us Also taking the tram to downtown is east

The living area needs a lamp ..could be better lit .. otherwise all good Just a tip There is a tourist card that would have saved us $ letting tourist know about it would be a nice touch !

The location of the hotel is very good, 1 minute walk to the train station, 2 minutes walk to the tram station, and only about 10 minutes to the busiest city. The room is large and reasonably furnished with a coffee machine and refrigerator. It is comfortable. The owner is very enthusiastic and introduced us a lot of good places about Ghent.

Since there are only four rooms on each floor, and the elevator room is in the middle, the sound of the elevator running can often be heard in the room.

Very friendly, helpfull staff. Small but clean rooms, very nice breackfast. Parking inside is also a plus as there's not much parking space in the streets.

We were there for a conference in 't Kuipje, which made it the perfect spot as we could walk to the conference. In case you are there for a city visit, the surroundings may be less attractive with also some street noise. But overall, we were very pleased with the stay.

Wonderful buffet breakfast, a lot of choice and excellent quality. Big room, a lot of space. Super location , 3 mns walk from train station. Outstandingly nice staff, very helpful and super attentive to their guests well being, they moved us to another room as the temperature was too high to sleep well in the one we got initially. Thank you so much!

Beds a bit too soft , but that may be just my taste.
