This is one of our favourite places to stay and we have been many times. As usual the welcome was friendly and check-in efficient and the room was clean and spacious. We arrived by ebike this time, and they allocated a room that opened directly into the brewery yard next to the covered cycle parking area. Cycle parking is not in a locked building, but the whole yard is locked overnight and it is very secure. Breakfast was varied and tasty with the signature view of the brewery yard in full swing, and of course the on-site bar / restaurant was amazing as always.

The ambiance of staying in a modern room in the confines of a working brewery. The staff in all areas are friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast and in the Brasserie is excellent and the service is good.
A bit sad that, as British guests without suitable ID cards, we couldn't use the beer vending machine in the lobby. Is there a way that the hotel could issue an access card of some sort with the room key?

Reception is in the main section of the brewery and our room was further down the road with convenient car parking. The room was very good, large and comfortable with a good bathroom. Location of the brewery is within easy walking to sites and shops. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were both very good.
Breakfast is in the restaurant but not specifically advised to us which involved asking cleaning staff where to go. Would have appreciated an English Channel on television!

Room was very clean and comfortable, and was cleaned everyday with fresh towels supplied. I appreciated the tea making facilities in the room. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a great choice including hot bacon and scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, salami, yoghurts, fresh fruit, choice of breads and croissants, orange juices and hot drinks, and home made flapjacks. The waitress was especially friendly and efficient. Het Anker Brouerij is a wonderful combination of hotel, restaurant, bar, shop, and brewery. The brewery tour is well worth doing, and includes generous tastings of several beers.
It's quite a long walk to the train station, but there's a bus stop outside the brewery, and the taxis are cheap. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't appear to be working.

Very comfy hotel located right at the brewery. Parking on the hotel brewery private area. Good breakfast. Good brewery tour and great beers. Very nice city, and the center i close by, so you can easily walk. Good prices on the beers in the gift shop (< super market prices )
The food in the restaurant did not live up to our expectations. It was not as well prepared as we could have hoped for. We might have been unlucky. The tour guide was not much into the technical details of the brewing process and ingredients.

location is great, lovely bar/restaurant and really nice rooms! we had a wonderful time trying the different beers and we had a great meal. the location was perfect for our overnight stay on the way to france. would definitely recommend!!
at breakfast we were told to sit somewhere else, directly next to an occupied table even though there were many tables available

The concept is unbeatable if you’re into Belgian beers. The hotel is situated in the same spot as the brewery with its own brasserie/restaurant and a complete lineup of the Gouden Carolus beers. Nice decorated rooms with a minimalistic touch but all functional. Clean, fresh and comfortable beds. The breakfast included hot and cold alternatives but it would’ve been great with some vegetables as well. Very friendly personal at the reception and the guide for the brewery-tour (not included in the hotel price) was excellent. About 30 minutes walk from the train-station but I’m sure there are taxis driving you there for a decent price as well.
Maybe not the most romantic surroundings but hey…..we’re there for the beer-experience and not romance.

We particularly appreciated the staff at the hotel, including the young man on evening reception who gave knowledgeable advice on the choice of beers to take home and our friendly breakfast waitress Noëlla. We also enjoyed our evening meal in the Brouwerij restaurant and wandering round the adjoining streets of the historic Béguinage.

A perfect stay for beer lovers. The rooms are very comfortable. Some "beer" details make the room an enjoyable event. The dinner was wonderful and as you can sleep just a few steps from the dining room, you have not to care about drink some glasses more. The beers are awsome, it would be a pity not to try them all! The breakfast includes a warm bread made from used beer malt and the possibility to make your own hot waffles! Fantastic!

The ancient Het Anker brewery is handily placed for exploring Mechelen, the town centre is less than ten minutes walk away. The very popular restaurant is very busy so booking a table is advisable. Rooms are well appointed and kept very clean. It is worth booking a tour of the brewery as part of your stay, it has a fascinating history and the beers are excellent! Breakfast is taken upstairs in the restaurant and will provide something for most tastes but the emphasis is on the 'continental' style. The meals on offer in the restaurant feature the use of beer in their preparation. [ What a surprise!] There is a shop for buying souvenir bottles of their beers etc. It would have been handy to have some tourist information in the rooms and there was only very little in reception. However, the Tourist Information in the centre is very good.
Parking. It is the policy of Mechelen to ban cars from the city centre in the near future and works are proceeding apace to enable this. The nearest car park to Het Anker has been closed and there is no viable alternative. On-street parking has time limits and is very expensive, as are the more central underground carparks. The Brewery charges 10 Euros per night for parking, which is very limited [ 13 places?], and these have to be booked in advance. Should you decide to arrive by train, the station is a long walk away so a taxi might be advisable. There are frequent connections from Antwerp
