I booked a room in the last moment and it was very important for me to receive a fast answer. I travelled with two kids, and hotel provide an extra bed in two-person room. The pool is not very big, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok, you can always find something even for kids, who are bad eater.

The water in the pool is very cold. It could be ok for swimming, but the pool size is just 5*5, so it's no too much distance to swim there. You can hear very well what is going on in neighboring rooms. We were lucky, our neighbors were quiet. But you can hear them even just walking in their room.

The rooms are not very large, but cozy and comfortable. Our rooms did not have a bathtub, but a luxurious shower instead, with a large "rainfall" type of shower top. The room was equipped with a TV, a fridge, a small table, and a terrace (shared with other rooms, perhaps), offering a nice view of the city and the sunset (photo). The wifi worked properly in our room. The breakfast was marvelous, including many European brakfast ingredients: roasted ham, fried and soft-boiled eggs, beans in tomato sauce, pancakes, various sorts of jams, butter, and slices of bread, as well as croissants, all kinds of ingredients for sandwiches, yogurts, and fresh fruit salads. Fresh juices and various hot beverages (tea, coffee, etc.) were also available. We liked the beach (locate very close to the hotel) and had a long walk with bare feet in the water.

A bit of disappointment was the hotel's SPA facility, which we did not dare to use because of the "naked only" policy. Apparently, the hotel's SPA facility is offering the "non-naked" access on Tuesdays and Thursdays only, but our stay was on Monday when the "naked only" policy was in place. I must mention here that we selected this hotel and this specific room based on its SPA facility and access to it for our room.

From the start I wasn't expecting much after reading some of the reviews from trip advisor however we were very pleasantly pleased with what we found. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Everyone we spoke with were helpful and approachable. Tom ( I think) tried his best to find me a local seafood restaurant to which I was very much looking forward to but it seems that those places are closed on a Wednesday. We still had an amazing meal and a wonderful time at the promenade which is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The room was exceptionally clean and neat and spacious! The pool was perfect for me and my family. The drinks from the bar were lovely and reasonably priced. Breakfast was incredible - a bit busy- but everything was always fully stocked and fresh. Exceeded our expectations. We were thoroughly pleased and enjoyed our stay immensely. We will definitely return one day.

Sadly the jacuzzi was broken so we couldn't use that. The advertisement says paid parking but I feel it needs to made clear that we have to book a parking space. Fortunately the man at the desk was very helpful with finding us a car park space locally. Air-conditioned rooms would be great. We were fortunate to arrive after the initial heat wave so it was a bit cooler. I was fine but my husband found it too hot at night.

Hotel Astrid is amazing. 1. It is 2 minutes to Ostend Beach. 2. It 8 min walk to Ostende city centre, & 20 min to/from Train Station. 3. It is very clean. 4. The breakfast was amazing. Diversified continental breakfast. Everybody can find what he/she likes. 5. They are honest. (I had ordered a baby cot. I told them the next day that I don't need it anymore. When I checked out, they paid me the money for the day I didn't use the baby bed.) ...

- The baby cot was not so great. It was too deep for a baby. - In such a great hotel, I would expect that they might put at least a small bottle of water in the rooms. (We had to go downstairs to the restaurant to buy some water which cost 8.50 Euro per liter. - There were no sleepers in the bathroom.

This was my third time here in only 11 months. I asked for the room I had in December and got it. That was good service. Breakfast is really good with a nice atmosphere. The coffee machines were causing problems though but that's not a disaster. It's good that the hotel is busy

Just the broken coffee machine problem which meant there were only 3 for a very busy restaurant. Even when 4 are working there are queues

The spa was amazing, the included breakfast was delicious, very central location to amenities and nearby transport links to neighbouring cities such as Bruges and Gent. I had my first ever massage (the hot stone massage) and it was amazing, the young lady who massaged me and the lady who massaged my wife were great and made us feel completely relaxed and at ease! All the staff were amazing, attentive and couldn't do enough for us. We can't wait to come back, thank you Royal Astrid!

The only thing we didn't like is that we couldn't stay any longer! We would have liked more reasonably priced parking but as I said, we were very centrally located so higher parking charges are to be expected :)

The rooms look exactly as in the picture, they’re clean, luminous and a plus we always appreciate was that the shower was separated vs the toilet room. The location of the hotel is in a quiet zone and it’s literally 5min from the sea. What we also loved was the restaurant of the hotel with incredibly good food (we reco the Flemish stew!! ). The breakfast, which is included, was had a lot of options and everything was super tasty. We really recommend the hotel. To note, in the room price the poil is included (10x10m2), however for the sauna you have to pay separately (18€ / person).

A small detail, but oh so annoying. In the bathrooms, the sink is really far from you as it’s placed on a “table” and you have to bend over the side of the table to reach it when washing your teeth / face.

It’s a 3 star hotel and I only paid 73 euros for one night. I arrived, was greeted by a perfectly nice person at reception, my room was fine, the bed good, pillows good, shower good, the view was out towards the beach, there was apparently a swimming pool and I also took advantage of a free breakfast with plenty of choice! How can I fault that!?! For that low cost I feel that’s absolutely great! Thanks!

I liked the separated toilet.

No air conditioning inside the room or the hallway along to the suites, it was quite warm during summer vacation. At least hope the room more ventilation since all windows open still not cooling down the room. Additional heat came out from the fridge nearby the bed. The fridge definitely is not cool enough :( drinks are still room temperature after 8hrs inside the fridge without opening.

Breakfast quality excellent and vast choice. Friendly staff. Attentive to less abled persons. Clean tables and floors

Not enough lifts for number of guests. Especially as many are less abled and many others had dogs. No alarm call bells in bedroom or bathroom for disabled persons.
