Breakfast was great. Large choice and all fresh. Reception area is also very comfortable to have a coffee or any other drink. Rooms are also good. Slept like a little baby in the bed.

Staff during breakfast was a bit too eager to clean up tables. If you go and get an additional coffee it might happen that your table is already cleaned up for the next person to sit. Although the street where the hotel is situated is not meant for cars (unless you live there and have a garage) it is still quite noisy early in the morning if you have a room at that side.

Nicely located hotel, with a really cool interior. Just off the beach. Really friendly staff, and efficient check-in. The room itself was really cool - with some quirky design features & plenty of room. Would recommend.

It got a little hot at night (no AC) and without earplugs there was noise from other guests / outside activity in early morning. I guess the noise aspect may depend on location as we were on the first floor above the entrance.

The hotel is very close to the beach - we had a balcony with view of the sea. The hotel staff was friendly and professional. We enjoyed the breakfast a lot - there was plenty of choice, the food was fresh and delicious and the coffee was quite good too. As well as the location, what makes this hotel stand out, is the lovely interior, Upstairs branded towels and toiletries, as well as the fantastic shared spaces downstairs (both in- and outdoors). As an added bonus there are some special draught beers available in the bar.

Staff could be a bit more forthcoming with information but if you ask the right questions, you will find out everything you need to know.

I was very happy with the location and my room. Beside the bed there are USB charging sockets. The coffee machine was very welcome as these are rarely provided in mainland Europe.

The walls are not well soundproofed. If your neighbours are noisy, you will hear them! If they are talkative with loud voices, you will be disturbed. My neighbours apparently had a medical emergency but even before that, the constant loud chatter was annoying. Maybe next time, I won't be so unlucky

Seeing the location of the hotel (just in front of the beach), the price is very reasonable. What's more, our two dogs staid at no extra cost!!! This is almost unheard of! The room was nice and cosy, very spacious. Downstairs there was a bar, ping pong and a play area for kids. I really recommend this hotel, and we'll be back for sure on our next travels to Oostende.

Everything was perfect!

This hotel is really funky, definitely has a hipster vibe. It's all new, so everything is in perfect order. It is an industrial-chic design, and the common areas have plenty of areas to hang out, even with a tube slide, foosball and ping pong. No beach views but turn right out of the hotel and you are basically on the beach. It was perfect for our needs.

The rooms dont have A/C. Probably 99 percent of the time that would be fine, but we are having some unseasonably hot weather. For us, it was not a problem, but as the temperature climbs, I think it could be uncomfortable.

Our room was amazing and the mattresses were the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel. The bathroom was also nice and big. The hotel itself was awesome with lots of things to do during a rainy day. The breakfasts were out of this world and the staff really so friendly. We always stay at Upstairs when we come to Oostende!

It was a heat wave and our room had a street view which made it very hot in the afternoon and evening. There is no aircon which I understand given the hotel's "Green" focus. Perhaps these rooms could have a fan fitted?

The penthouse room was very nice, spacious and nice design. We had a nice view of the sunset from the terrace. The location is great for a stroll on the promenade.

The room smelled of cigarette smoke. We didn't raise this with the hotel because we really wanted that specific room. It would have been nice to have a kettle in the room so we could have used the tea-bags which were provided.

- Great hotel with nice decor in the lobby & our room. - Delicious breakfast and good/free coffee tabs in our room. - Location was perfect, next to the beach and close to various restaurants and shopping street. -Staff was very nice.

-Parking situation was horrible. On a sunday with nice weather it's impossible to find a parking spot. All public parkings were full.

This was honestly probably our favourite hotel stay to date. Such a brilliant place. location absolutely perfect - 2 mins from gorgeous sandy beach, 2 mins from town’s shops, restaurants and pastry shops! staff fantastic. amazing communal space with slide, table football, ping pong table, cosy seating etc. Room was great, huge bed, nice bathroom, tv, fridge, espresso machine. enjoyed so much we added an extra night.

the only downside for us was a lack of affordable parking. however there is an easy underground parking (indigo) across the road at €25 per 24 hours.
