Nice location convenient and walkable to water taxis and several restaurants/food opportunities; a nice tavern/restaurant on hotel grounds, staff quite friendly and helpful. It is clean and the room is a nice size. Since Belize City is a little scetchy it's good to have a property where food and drink are available, especially if you feel uncomfortable on the outside, especially at night. If you're so inclined, a short walk will bring you to a nice sunset near the "Belize" sign. Air conditioning was always available to keep room at the coolness you need. The window also opened to allow a nice natural feel to the temperature. You can use this as a base hotel and take day trips or just find your resort elsewhere in the country and pay the price.

I was disappointed that my room was not made up by early of even mid afternoon. Most days out of my week at this hotel I observed the housekeeping didn't happen until around 5 in the evening. The hotel is nice, its just not on the upper edge of fashion like I'd think of a Raddison or similar brand. But it is probably a better package, price, location, and amenities all considered.

The hotel's location is ideal. When I visited seven months ago, the renovations were recently completed, but the amenities were still closed. All the amenities (gym, spa, pool, and restaurant) were fully operational on this visit. The room was recently renovated with a modern, minimalist design. The staff was friendly and helpful. The shuttle service made transport between the airport and the hotel easy to manage.

The room service menu advertised on the room TV isn't available. The room could do with some more clothes storage. The hotel would also benefit from more on-site parking.

We only had one night at this lovely hotel but enjoyed our stay. Location was on the waterfront so nice and felt safe for walking. We were in the older building, which is still being renovated, but the room was updated and had a great view of the water. The beds were comfortable. Treehouse restaurant, in the new building, is a nice space with great food for breakfast. Shuttle pick up from the airport was reasonable $30USD for 2 of us. Staff were friendly and trustworthy! Left my backpack behind in the lobby when we left for the water taxi. The staff contacted me and I was able to get it back all intact before our boat left. Thank you so much!

Air conditioning unit is very noisy but works well.

We were coming back from Turneffe Flats and the location was therefore perfect. The Spa and the spa staff were truly excellent. My wife had a very high standard facial and I had one of the most relaxing and effective massages ever. The Tree House had a great ambiance and the table staff were good.

The waiting time for food in the Tree House was annoying and they had run out of flatbreads….. The room was great if a bit stark. Two of us occupied the room but there was only one bathrobe. A great addition would be to provide a room safe to leave passports and valuables in.

location was great as we were going to Turneffe island resort. The food was very good as we ate three meals at the Tree house restaurant. The staff there we also very good.

We had originally made a reservation through the hotel then cancelled it and booked through Booking.com for a better rate. We received confirmation from both but the person checking us in could not find our reservation at first. It took over 25 minutes to find the reservation and get us our room. Not sure what the reason was the reservation could not be found as we had received two different emails from the hotel stating our confirmed reservation and also that they were honoring our rate from Booking.com and that the hotel had changed name and also updated its facilities.

The Tree House restaurant provided very good cuisine and the waitresses were very attentive. I liked the pop up bakery and coffee house by the pool. The view from the older building is much better than the new building. The employee in charge of luggage is exceptional and a very hard worker.

The timeliness of the rooms ready by check in time is questionable. We were on a tour and we had to wait until 5pm for our room for a 3pm check in.

Very clean and modern. Restaurant service was quick while food was delicious and nicely presented. Pool and patio areas we spacious and well furnished, lots of nice chairs and lounges for relaxing.

The fire alarms malfunctioned during the night and woke many of the guests. The alarm sounded for at least ten minutes before it was turned off. Amazingly I seemed to be the only person who ventured out of his room to see if there really was a fire. There was not.

Loved the gym, restaurant and spa! We stayed here for a night to escape a storm and had a wonderful 24 hours inside! Rooms very spacious and loved the sea view from balcony. Also the shower was huge and there were tons of mirrors

For an area that they say “don’t drink the water” they were rather resistant to give us water. A fruit water in the lobby ands spa and water in the gym would be nice

Hotel is nice, clean & modern.

No fridge or microwave. Tree Top restaurant has the same menu every day. Breakfast was $35 US for mediocre food. No bananas for smoothies for 3 days! There is nothing in the vicinity of the hotel. We had to take a cab everywhere.

The Fort George continues to be the hotel best defining Belize's Colonial Hospitality, with a very attentive and well informed staff. Albeit remodeled to suit the Modern Traveler and Tourist with fully upgraded ammenities, colonial era luxuries, such as mahogany furniture, are yet a mainstay. Those fascinated by local culture will be interested in its unique role as host to most social events, from proms to weddings.

I can't find fault with the Fort George; well, as a Belizean I admit to being biased, given it's so much more than hotel. It's a historical and social landmark. Finding fault with it, would be the equivalent of an American finding fault with The White House.
