The property was well-kept and well located. The staff was very accommodating. There were many places to sit and enjoy the open verandas and the pool area is beautiful. The continental breakfast was tasty with several options.

I wouldn’t pay for a sea view. The view of the sea was a sliver from a standing position. In the future, I’d request a room away from the house with three barking dog.

Love the fact that it is a renovated building, but still has all kinds of charm (transom windows, wood floors, etc). Also, it was on a quiet street, but was still within walking distance to restaurants, the lighthouse and the express water ferry.

The room was very warm when we first entered; we thought the a/c wasn't working, but we found out from another hotel guest how to adjust it. Also, the lack of an elevator kind of sucks. A bellboy offered to carry my luggage, I should have let him. Would have liked a softer pillow.

Good location and could walk around to local attractions. Staff were very friendly. Easy to arrange trips to local attractions. Nice small pool and adjacent seated area which was very relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay and would recommend to friends visiting Belize and would love to return!

Breakfast was rather basic. Restaurant/cafe in hotel would have been nice though we knew beforehand that there was no restaurant and adjacent hotels had good restaurants. Noisy barking dog from nearby property disturbed us a lot in one night in particular.

Very spacious room that felt like a Bed & Breakfast, not a hotel. Front desk responded immediately when we asked/complained about outside lights that kept us up the first night. Pool and covered terrace areas were perfect for hanging out till our room was ready. Walking distance to tourist "village".

Construction across the street (but it won't last forever), outside lights on all night and no blackout curtains. Paid breakfast options not worth it - go next door to Treehouse.

Clean spacious room with a large bathroom, great air con and fan option. The pool area was excellent and a real bonus for our final afternoon waiting for our flight home the next morning. Staff were friendly and helpful, assisting us with booking taxis for dinner and airport transfers. Great option for an overnight in Belize City.

The cafe under the hotel where we had breakfast was really overpriced and had only American options really, we wished we had gone into the city to eat somewhere else on our final morning.

Love this place - location, staff, facilities. Stayed here on both ends on my trip. Michelle was very helpful in making sure I stayed safe as solo traveler. She offered suggestions for nearby restuarants to walk to during the day and indicated that it is customary for restuarants to call thier favorite driver for thier guests. This ensured I was getting in a safe and reliable driver.

It will be great when the bar and restuarant opens on site. On this visit, the windows did not open in the room I stayed in which meant air conditioning rather then the lovely sea breeze.

It would be nice to have a breakfast included, minimally a continental breakfast. As well, it would be helpful for The Great House to have a taxi driver on hand to drive guests to various locales, such as the Zoo or Old Belize. Availablility of such driver should be at a cost below what one could get off the street. We ended up negotiating with a driver next door at the Fort George Hotel.

History of the place is fascinating. Our room was huge as was the bathroom. We were at the back so no sea view but plenty of places to sit on balconies across the property. Great restaurants nearby by. Martha’s was amazing as was the Whiskey Bar

The noise from the fridge in Room 7. We had to unplug it at night. And the door lock was temperamental. We never tried breakfast as we liked Martha’s for brunch

The new pool area is very good and the staff were as helpful as possible. The room was sizeable and comfortable. Its a older style colonial hotel with character and charm.

There was a bottle of water in our room on arrival, but when I asked for more later, either free or to purchase, that evening I was told I would have to walk to another hotel. We nearly paid for continental breakfast, the only option, but luckily checked first and found there was almost nothing left and no more available. The location is a little remote from anything, but Belize City as a whole is a pretty run down and desolate city. Dont expect to find what most people would expect in a city. We spent 4 days there. 1 would've been enough.

The Great House Inn is a lovely, old, wooden building right next to the Radisson, and 2 mins walk from the ocean, and the Belize sign if you are a selfie taker. really comfy beds, big rooms, reception has chilled drinks to purchase, and breakfast is included. its a short walk to the cruise ship terminal, if you are here for a cruise, and dont let anyone persuade you to get a taxi...we did it in 6 minutes in ankle deep water due to rain...easy peasy. really enjoyed staying here.
