Great area, clean and quiet room, v good breakfast

By comparison with another hotel which I left because it was so bad, arriving here for my stay was like night and day! I arrived a few hours before check-in as I had a meeting to attend, and the staff was super helpful in getting me online and finding me a place to work while I was waiting. Then they let me check in as soon as a room became available. Generally, friendly staff who spoke English (at least the receptionists spoke well). This is a good traditional-style hotel that has everything you'd expect and does it right. Everything worked, rooms were cleaned, the pool is great, and even the guests here were friendly striking up conversations with each other - ideal for solo travelers. Breakfast was good but I didn't try any of the other food, though they have a menu with a number of options. All of this at a great price too. I'd stay here again, but Rio is too big to stay in the same place twice!

Okay, so the A/C is positioned right above the head of the bed, which is a bit noisy but, what's worse, sometimes small droplets of water drip from it onto the area where the pillows are. They're quite strict on not allowing non-guests into the hotel, everyone needs to be check-in, which can be good or bad depending on your perspective. The mini-bar wasn't restocked during my stay and I couldn't order room service because of a language barrier with the restaurant staff.

From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel, I was greeted with warmth and cordiality by the staff, setting the tone for a memorable stay. The room exceeded all expectations, boasting spaciousness and modern amenities, with the highlight being the fantastic bathtub – the bathroom itself was simply outstanding, bright, and generously sized, perfect for preparing for the carnival festivities. Each morning, the breakfast spread offered a delightful variety of options, ensuring there was something to please every palate. The complimentary access to the gym was a welcome addition, although I regretfully didn't find the time to fully utilize it. One of the standout features of my stay was the impeccable cleanliness and tidiness of the room, which was consistently maintained throughout my time at the hotel. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking a remarkable and comfortable stay. The unmatched hospitality and attention to detail make it a standout choice for travelers. Location close to center and samba is great.

The neighborhood seems to be increasingly full of homeless people and beggars.

Well situated, very quiet and clean room. Breakfast was excellent and can be busy at times, but the staff managed well.

Good breakfast, excellent location, small room but comfortable. Swimming pool and sauna Subway close by. Breakfast was excellent. It was one of the things that we pretty much liked. Also, the bedroom was clean all the time.

The size of the room is not as much as we would like, but it is ok for the purpose that we visited Rio

The air conditioner is old and awfully loud, the breakfast is tasteless and there is very little space in the restaurant

Good location where we (2 female travellers) felt safe at all times, staff was helpful and friendly, everything was CLEAN and overall very great value! The hotel is very close to the metro by which you can get to all the major sites!

Nothing - everything was great! (Our room was a little dark as the window was small and facing the backyard but it didn’t take away from any of the positive aspects.)

Great value for money. Handy location as not far from popular beaches and the city center. Tasty breakfast.

Free weights/weight machines in the exercise room would be great :)
