Amazing boutique hotel in the heart of Pelourinho, at walking distance from all attractions and restaurants in the area. Breakfast was nice and varied and the decoration of the place was beautiful all over the hotel. staff was friendly and welcoming and willing to help with recommendations and tour reservations. After 10pm everything around is usually closed so keep that in mind if you’re looking for night life. However getting an Uber to take you around the city is quite easy.

It’s a bit noisy even with closed windows and beds are not really double beds but 2 single beds pushed together.

I really liked the Hotel decor, the rooms were very comfortable and they also had a pool table and bar that made really good caipirinhas. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast delicious. The location was right in the heart of pelourinho so it made the perfect location to visit the centre of Salvador city, really a few steps from all the main amenities and restaurants. They also offered a spa session treatment that unfortunately we didn't use because we stayed only one night but we will definitely book it on our next stay in Salvador!

Very beautiful house, very nice people in the reception, excelent breakfast. We took a guide, working with the hotel, called Pedro. Very nice and kind person. Took us for a tour in the streets of Salvador and than to a very nice place out of the city. This guy was so flexible, when we drove near to the stadium , he told me there is a very good football match on this day. After I told him I am a football fan and I want to watch the game, he arranged everything. Bought tickets, took us to his home and gave us shirts of the team playing, took us to the stadium, which was full and gave us such a good experience. This guide told us , he is working only with this hotel. Really recomend him, speaks excelent English

The vintage decor, the staff, the fact that there were a lot of tourist couples in their 20s-30s made us feel safe inside, the bed was definitely a big highlight, the spacious rooms, the variety of the breakfast buffet and the proximity to historic center.

Despite being in the historic center, you are not free of walking wherever you want for safety reasons . To call a uber early morning, we were told uber drivers are reluctant to drive up the hill because they tend to get robbed.

We had a wonderful stay at Bahiacafe and would recommend it to any easy-going traveler in Salvador. It would have been helpful to have some clothing storage (drawers/dresser/shelves) as we were two people staying for a week, but we found a solution and it wasn't a big problem. LOVELY breakfast room, very attentive and courteous staff, would stay again without hesitation. (We had a/c and ceiling fan, which was fantastic -- but not all rooms do.)

see above; would have been great to unpack and not live out of our suitcases.

We did not expect how quaint this Hotel is. It has so much charm, and you start your day with a fabulous breakfast. The staff at the front desk are extremely nice and helpful. We enjoyed how "walkable" the area is. We found nice restaurants, and went up and down most of the streets, enjoying all the colorful homes.

Coming into town, it is mostly one-way streets. Finding parking was a challenge, but we did find the one 24 hour parking garage. We were told that there was a free walking-tour of the city. We showed up for it, but a guide never showed up. We paid for another guide, which we found helpful, in understanding the history of the area. We did come into town after the sun had gone down. Once the sun is down, you cannot see the signage on the building. We asked many people where the Hotel is, but most did not know of the Hotel.

Great location and clean, nicely decorated rooms. the building itself is really nice - it’s an old building in the Pelorinho that’s recently been refurbished. Also had a great breakfast. We also booked a walking tour there, which was really interesting (it went beyond the usual trudge round tourist landmarks, and the guide gave loads of interesting insights into society and economy in Bahia).

This isn’t really the fault of the hotel, but it was tricky to know which areas near the hotel were unsafe. A few pointers about that would have been helpful (but then again, I’m sure the staff would have advised if we had asked!).

Fantastic location, the reception staff spoke excellent English and were super helpful with restaurant recommendations. They also helped us with safety - as we are typical European visitors with no clue as to were is safe to walk!. The breakfast is excellent- wide choice buffet style. I loved the breakfast room- little tables overlooking the square. Great Coffee as well. There is an old fashioned pool table- great fun after hours

This hotel is excellent value. The rooms are small but well designed. The central location meant the rooms could be noisy

Highly recommended across the board. Very tastefully decorated boutique hotel in prime location Pelourinho, the historic part of Salvador. Staff very friendly and at the reception desk perfect English-speaking staff are happy to help you with all possible information. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with an eye for detail. Colonial atmosphere is beautifully expressed; Breakfast is top notch, extensive and with all kinds of fresh fruit. In this boutique hotel you can really enjoy and relax from the many impressions of the beautiful historic Salvador!

The staff was super friendly, cleanliness of the room was impeccable, and location is excellent if you are travelling for tourism. Incredible bed! At night the plaza does get deserted, so would avoid hanging around.

Breakfast was good, but I was expecting a bit more of Baiana local foods to be served, like tapioca and pão delícia. Other than that, just be mindful that there are parts of the hotel only accessible by stairs.
