The manager of the hotel Gabriel was extremely helpful and always on hand to help! lovely guy and gives great restaurant recommendations! :-) The staff although spoke very little English were always on hand to help in any way that they could and very friendly! Breakdast was lovely! my friend and I always enjoyed breakfast and the freshly squeezed juices were amazing! Location is good.. you are a stones throw away from the main town in Pelourinho and not far from other areas in Salvador it’s easy to jump in an Uber and get to where you need to be

Whilst you are only over the road from Pelourinho it can be quite dangerous at night.. so just make sure you get an Uber..other than that no complaints

First and foremost the staff were wonderful especially Philip and his brother. They were really helpful with making arrangements both before and during our trip. They speak English which really helped us. The location is perfect for visiting the old town, only 5 minutes away. We enjoyed the pool after hot days sightseeing.. It was easy to get laundry done.

The rooms are old and basic, but as there are many other places in the hotel to relax we only slept there..

Close to the historical area. Nice pool. Good fresh fruit juice for breakfast. Gabriel (reception) is attentive and fun to talk to.

The steep streets to the historical area has some dodgy people. The room at the new wing is terrible (poor shower, hear everything next door and outside, mosquitoes, bad bed, no blackout curtains). Ask for the rooms above reception that has solar powered hot water, thick walls, and wooden windows that blocks light. Same breakfast every day. Tours on offer was terrible. Zero guidance. All we got was a taxi ride to the harbour (which we could have walked in 20 mins), a boat ride (we could have just got a ticket at the counter like all locals) and the taxi guy didn't show when we got back.

The staff is lovely and very helpful with touristic information as where to go and what to eat. The hotel is walking distance to Pelourinho, during the day is very safe to walk around just as per normal when in Brazil, be aware of your stuff and you will be fine. My family felt safe to walk back and forth Pelourinho while we stayed there. (there's amazing clothes shop for ladies/cheaper than Pelourinho just on the bottom of the street!!) The breakfast is simple but fresh cakes and juices every morning, you can relax by the pool and buy beers at the hotel. The rooms are clean and the bed is super confy. We would definitely come back.

Great location, on the doorstep of the old town, lovely, good size pool and we paid for the room with a private balcony. Great views of the old town. Very helpful staff at reception, with some English speaking given my poor Portuguese! Recommended if you want to immerse yourself in the beautiful city! Wifi was better than expected.

Its the old town so there is some noise from the church bells and some music places but mostly quiet from before midnight. Worth it for the location though! Its the old town so there are cobblestone streets and a few manageable hills ;) not a big problem but worth noting.

Super friendly staff. Extremely helpful even at giving tips on where to go and how to get there (thank you Philip!). Pool open 24/7 with a beautiful view of Pelourinho. Very safe with reception attended 24/7 (Ignore Uber/taxi drivers claiming that this area is dangerous). 2 minutes walking distance from the lovely historical centre of Pelourinho.

Better sound proofing in the room could have been a good plus. But that's all I can think of :)

perfect location to Pelourinho, just a short walk. felt very safe as a female solo traveller and staff gave very good advice re safety, where to eat, places to visit. reception English speaking and very very helpful. they lent me a charger as mine wasn’t working which was a god send. accommodation set in nice gardens with swimming pool and outside bar. would definitely stay here again if I’m lucky enough to visit Salvador again.

Good price for what they offer. Close to Pelourinho, nevertheless up on hill. Not in the heart of Salvador, not recommended to walk around during the night. Good breakfast and friendly stuff.

Even though is not far from Pelourinho, it is not safe to walk back to the pousada during the evening.

One of the best staffs ever. Friendly and helpful.

I can only speak for my room (204),but the wifi signal never moved above one bar. It worked, but so slow and I couldn't have taught on Skype if I'd been having classes. Strong internet is a must in today's remote working world.
