beautiful decor, modern bathrooms, lovely dining area. hotel is in the center of Pelourinho (old city) and there are areas in this district not to go as a tourist, but it is the center of all the things you WANT to experience in Salvador, so this hotel is in ideal location. it’s on a nice street, quiet at night but near music, bars, restaurants. police are very present so walking is safe at night. we spent six nights in the hotel: wonderful staff! we arranged two tours with hotel before arriving and that added to our experience. it’s also close to Bale Foclorico - a must see (Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights only -as we understand it)

The location is great and the hotel is very charming and pleasant. The room is super - very nicely set out, furnished and equipped. Breakfast excellent and very abundant. Very good choice of wines at the bar.
Staff could be a bit more friendly and forthcoming. And chat less noisily early in the morning. Also, I found charging for tea bags in the room a bit stingy for such standard and price.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I love it. Everything was beyond perfect, and it is like a sanctuary in an ideal location. The room: beautiful with lovely wooden floors, a very comfortable mattress with quality linens, a huge spa shower. My room had a terrace with a beautiful view. Blackout curtains. The hotel: boutique with nice decor. Small pool with ocean view offers a nice way to cool down and relax after hours in the heat. Restaurant: very good local food and they offer a huge delicious breakfast at any time you wish. Included with the room. I am not an early riser and usually cannot take advantage of complimentary breakfasts so that flexibility was unique and greatly appreciated. Staff: the staff is amazing. Everyone was extremely friendly, responsive and customer service oriented. Luis must have spent hours answering all my questions, and always with a smile. The doormen always made me feel like I was coming or leaving home. The owner greets you upon arrival, which is a lovely detail. Location: the hotel has a wonderful location on a pedestrian street in between the two principal squares of Pelhourinho. There is music right outside the door (but the rooms are quiet).
It was amazing! The only possible downside to the location is that you cannot take Uber to the hotel. You need to walk 2 blocks from a main square to reach the hotel, which may not be safe at night (I did not have a problem). You can take an authorized taxi but it is 4x the price of Uber or they also offer a car service.

Hotel Casa Do Amarelindo is a marvelous boutique hotel in the heart of Pelourinho. We stayed over New Years. The hotel is lively, bight and open to nature, mixing modern style with antiques and local crafts. The owners go out of the way to make the guest feel welcome, as if you are staying at their home and not a hotel. The staff was attentive, and knew how to make guests feel safe and comfortable to see the sights. Food was awesome, French haute cuisine meets Bahia afro-Brazilian cooking. There was something for everyone on the menu even kids. The location was great in the heart of the tourist district near all of the attractions and shopping in Pelo, but the beach is a hike. However, the staff will get you a cab driven by someone known and vetted so you are well taken care of. We booked an all day tour of Salvador through the hotel, which turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip to Brazil, The guide was a local and excellent; he knew the area and had great stories and history to impart to his guests. I recommend using their service for sightseeing. All in all, I would highly recommend booking Casa do Amarelindo if you are looking for a romantic getaway (or bring the kids) in a very unique setting (Pelo is a UNESCO world heritage site), my wife and I will be back soon--maybe even for Carnival!

Lovely hotel & location in Pelourinho (Salvador Old Town). Especially enjoyed the view from the balcony of our bay facing room, the pool area also with great views and the cute leafy restaurant area. All the staff (and owners) were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. We were even allowed to shower at the pool area before catching our night flight as we spent the whole day on a beach after checkout. A special thank you for making our trip more enjoyable to Adam, Pablo & Luis at reception for all the information and advice on what to see and do, both in old town and around other parts of Salvador (as we wanted to explore further), Rafael and Uiliames in the restaurant for serving great breakfasts and cocktails always with a smile and Israel who helped us with our luggage, including storage, and was always smiling and attentive, returning stuff we left behind in the room. Thank you also to all the people behind the scenes who cleaned the room and prepared great meals and drinks. Would definitely go back/recommend. This pic is the view from our balcony.
Nothing not to like really but some sort of retractable sun shade/small umbrella added to the balcony in the room would mean being able to enjoy the balcony even during the hottest part of the day. It was out of season (September) so understandably the roof restaurant and bar with great views was closed....but still open to have a look.

The Casa do Amarelindo is a very nice boutique hotel located on a pedestrian street in the heart of the historic Pelourinho section of Salvador. We stayed 7 nights at the end of January in a deluxe room with balcony and a view of the bay. The room was extremely comfortable with an enormous bed and an excellent bathroom. The included breakfast was very good and was served to us, rather than being a buffet style. We also had dinner a couple of nights at the hotel's restaurant, which was delicious. Everyone working at the hotel was very friendly, cheerful and helpful. To reach the hotel, we had the hotel send a driver to pick us up at the airport and take us straight to the hotel. This worked out very well and we used the same service when we left. We loved our stay at Casa do Amarelindo and the next time we go to Salvador we'll stay there again.

I have stayed in many hotels around the world, but this hotel was one of the best i have stayed in. The staff are incredible here. They are so helpful and polite and will do anything for you. The breakfast and the food is superb. The rooms are icredible, actually, the biggest bed ive ever slept in! But also the location is great for those who want to explore the cultural richness of a city like Salvador. Do not hesitate in booking this hotel, you will not regret it
nothing... i am being honest.

You may have second thoughts about staying in Pelourinho due to the loud noise of the streets and performances, but this hotel will overcome your expectations. The windows are soundproof as well as the walls. I couldn't hear a single note coming from the drummers. Additionally, the hotel is super clean, the bed is so comfortable and huge (if you book their luxe room), the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. The hotel has only 10 rooms, and most guests are international folks.
The air conditioner in my room was making weird noises, but as soon as I shared this information with the manager, they took note for repair. Therefore, the noise didn't interrupt my sleep. This hotel is 10 out of 10.

Exceptional staff service and welcome from the owner. Gave us advice and suggestions that were very accurate. Organised our tours. Breakfast was great! I don't know if it was just the room we were in, but we have never been in such a big bed!
I can't think of any improvements, the ambience, decor, and facilities were all good quality with a lot of attention to detail. If I had to pick anything I would say a quicker lift but it is all part of the history and charm.

The location in the old part of town is simply perfect for any kind of stroll, visit, excursion and city tour. On foot, with or without tourist guide. Breakfast was superb, dinner as well. Staff is nice but hardly speaks anything but Portuguese, except the owner who is French and his partner. The pool and the city/sea view from the 1st floor is breathtaking and the interior of the hotel splendid. So is the restaurant in a lush tropical "winter garden".
We booked a superior room and I guess you automatically get a "family room" where two adults and two kids could sleep. Hence the bed is huge (for 4 people) and fills most of the room. For a couple, however, without kids, it is not great sleeping in a bed that feels 4 meters wide!
