It's in a great spot not too far away from anything you might need... But far enough from the highway to provide some quiet. It's a spot I've used multiple times and will continue to do so.
Fridge could do with a clean-out from food left by previous guests. Bath towels could be just a bit bigger. Those are the only 2 gripes in my trip haha.

Galley kitchen with Department of Health Quality Food Preparation Spaces. Large eating area and lounge areas for those who like a bit of privacy. You can eat by yourself. There was always a staff person available to solve problems..They were very friendly. The complimentary coffee/tea/oatmeal/snackbars were a nice touch. Washing Machine and dryer, drink and food machines and laundry soap and towels were added bonuses.
Regarding the disposal of bunk bed frames, I feel that they could have been donated to Habitat for Humanity for the clients they have on their list or to be sold at one of their ReStores. Habitat for Humanity will issue tax receipts for the assessed value of furniture. It was a shame to see those beautiful frames being taken apart and left in the rain. An employee told me that The Salvation Army and Value Village wouldn't accept them. I'm pretty sure that 'Habitat' would have.

The facilities here were great - a large, clean kitchen and eating area, a games room, tv room and lounge area. The location was also great - in a quiet leafy street but close to grocery store, takeaway food, cafes and bars, bus etc. I loved having a locker in the room (2 person female dorm) large enough to fit my medium sized suitcase. Staff were also excellent.
My only complaint is that there’s not enough space to sit up on the bottom bunk which made it extremely uncomfortable to relax in the room. The room also gets very warm and there was no fan or aircon, just a window you could open.

Issue with price/booking. I booked, what I thought was a 2 bdrm room, & when I arrived it was an 8 room dormitory room. This could have been made clearer on Booking.com's website. Even on my confirmation page that shows the address & dates, it does not show WHAT was booked. I had to pay additional fees when I arrived to get what i wanted.
Staff & room were great; the latter with the following exceptions. The room was too sparse & needed some more basic amenities, like a small table to put things on, or 2 chairs so each member (in my 2 bed room) had a place (beside the floor or their bed) to put their stuff on. Any kind of small table or desk would have been a welcomed addition & improvement. There was enough room to accommodate a small table or desk.

I had my own food when I got here. It was nice to see people that I have not seen in ages but yet again we had to go out separate ways. The people that work here were very hospitable and friendly. I would recommend the HI International to anybody traveling. I have had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Two thumbs up to the staff.
The only thing I didn't really like was having a roommate but she was a good person and respectable.

Does exactly what HI Internationals do world wide, provide clean, comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price. I stayed in 2 bed dorm and couldn't have been happier. The bunk was solid wood, the foam mattress was comfortable and I slept well. There's a big, well equipped kitchen and lots of comfortable common areas with pool and ping pong. It's located right in the heart of Edmonton's nightlife district with nearby restaurants, shops and cafes.
Lower bunk is very short, upper bunk doesn't have its own plug. It was noisey at night. Building and rooms have no character at all so even though there's great common areas it seemed a bit quiet and boring.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at HI Edmonton, and I can't say enough good things about my experience. From the moment I walked through the door, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere that this hostel offers. First and foremost, the staff at [Hostel Name] are exceptional. They are not just employees but true hosts, always ready to assist with a smile. They provided me with fantastic local tips, whether it was for the best restaurants, the top sights to see, or even the hidden gems only locals know about. Their dedication to making my stay enjoyable was evident throughout my entire visit. The cleanliness and comfort of the hostel exceeded my expectations. My room was immaculate, and the common areas were well-maintained. I especially appreciated the comfortable beds and the thoughtfully designed, spacious rooms. The privacy curtains and individual power outlets by each bed were a great touch. One of the highlights of this hostel is the fantastic common area. It's a hub for travelers from all over the world, and it's easy to strike up conversations and make new friends. The communal kitchen is well-equipped, making it easy to prepare your meals and save some money. The cozy lounge is perfect for relaxing or working, and the hostel often hosts events that bring guests together. The location of HI Edmonton is another huge advantage. It's right in the heart of the city, with many attractions, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. It's also close to public transportation, which makes exploring the city incredibly convenient. I can't forget to mention the value for money. HI Edmonton offers affordable rates without sacrificing quality or service. I couldn't believe I was getting such a great deal for the quality of accommodation and service I received. In summary, HI Edmonton is a true gem in the world of hostels.

Always a free bathroom, very comfortable and spacious kitchen, lots of storage space, freezer and two fridges. Always fresh coffee. Perfect cleanliness. Large grounds, office, billiard room, laundry room, bikes for walking. Many thanks to the staff for their hospitality... perfect location

Staff was great, bedroom and common areas were very clean, location made it easy to navigate the city and there was lots of shops/restaurants/bars close by. The LRT was about a 20-minute walk away and busses to downtown/West Edmonton Mall are a block away and run every 15-minutes or so. I also had a double-occupancy room to myself for all five nights which was lovely.
It's very loud, the doors all close very heavy and all noises echo through the halls. And the women's bathroom had a very bad sewage smell, constantly (but it was very clean).
