Chateau Lacombe Hotel

The room was comfortable, and we got the concierge floor to include breakfast and cocktails in the evening. Nice touch

The bathroom fan did not work. I booked online, and they said I had booked a double bed for my reservation and the booking I paid for and confirmed was a king suite. We had to ask to speak to the manager as the front staff said they were all booked up. The manager did finally get us a room as our confirmation stated. Either booking app got it wrong or hotel got it wrong. Never would I ever book a double bed. They did rectify it as they should but made the check in very uncomfortable

-Flexible check-in time and booking was very easy. We actually had a big issue with our original Airbnb and had to scramble to find accommodations, so we were very fortunate that Chateau Lacombe were able to have us on such short notice at that time of night. -Staff were friendly -Beautiful view -Very responsive to issues and resolving problems -Check-out time was later than most hotels, inns, and Airbnbs -Very comfortable

- Most places offer complimentary breakfast, so that would have been nice, as well as free parking. - Fitness room had decent equipment; however, the weight on the cable machines didn't label how much weight each bar was, so I couldn't determine how much weight I was lifting. The mechanism shoulder press machine also seemed a bit rough. The room should also include a fountain to fill up water bottles.

The beds were very comfortable. The lobby is beautiful and I love the history you have preserved. The hot water took awhile to get to the tub and he actual fixture was older so took me awhile to figure it out but ok. We wanted room service and there is a button on the phone that says room service but when I called down, they said since Covid there is no room service. The room phone was very old so still had the button.

None should probably be replaced. I really have no complaints. It’s decent calve for the cost. I e booked here at least three times and will book again.

Loved the location! Beautiful views, renovated lobby. Lounge looked cozy although we didn't use it. The revolving Restaurant Top of the Hotel - excellent! Food was superb. Great Valet service. Our room was clean, tub was dated. The lounge food was just ok and closed early, no delivery to rooms. Had a Jr Suite, with fridge and sitting room, very good! Staff were incredible, responded to requests for towels immediately, very pleasant, great with our little Pomeranian, we would stay here again!

Would have appreciated food delivery to room, but understandably were a bit short staffed. Bottled water in the room would be good, more coffee in the room, extra soaps and towels would be best as cleaning is only done periodically.

The main reasons I pick this hotel on my visits to Edmonton are 1. Location 2. River valley view 3. I can park my car under cover. Loved that the windows were clean and I could enjoy the river view. Happy to discover the Bellamy Lounge and the lovely bartender there. All the staff were great.

I know that after the pandemic there are staff issues, but I did miss daily housekeeping. I stayed for four nights and I had to ask for additional towels, coffee and toiletries. The rooms are rather dated, and the A/C very loud. Sheets were too small for the bed, would not stay tucked in. Did miss the breakfast buffet.

Clean, huge comfortable bed, large light room on 15th floor with good views over the river and city. Even better views at the rotunda restaurant on 24th floor, which we didn’t eat in, but took in the views. We had been offered a better room at a cost, as ours had not yet been refurbished. However, we were happy with this room.

Not a very welcoming receptionist, but all other staff friendly & helpful. We’re somewhat put off by being asked for a $200 CAD deposit in case of damage…….. we are pensioners!!!!!

We changed our booking to a Suite to accommodate a grandchild as well, & found the suite great for the 3 nights, though a door between the main bedroom & sittingroom where other bed was available would have been ideal. Shower & bath was very good. Water pressure was great. Location very convenient for the city & close to where we wanted to visit & good restaurants. View from windows was appreciated.

The room is quite spacious for a couple, the bed is comfortable (clean sheets and nice pillows). Overall, the room was clean, the shower was good. There was complimentary coffee and tea in the room. There is cable TV in the room.

The hotel is in need of some renovation, but nothing that compromises the stay, it is just the overall look that is a bit dated. There is no minibar in the room, though, which was a downside if you want to order food or even keep your water fresh. The hairdryer in our room wasn't working, but when we informed front desk they immediately offered to replace it.

The location was exactly what we needed. The price was affordable. We were able to walk for coffee, restaurants, and we had a lovely view. We had a 5-day stay, small fridge for some amenities, and the room & bed size were good.The staff in the Harvest Lounge were terrific as was our server in the restaurant (who looked after us for breakfast).

The hotel is older and we could see that, i.e., the bathroom tap dripped, although it did not affect our stay. The TV remote (safety remote for Covid protocols) somewhat frustrating and no TV guide, which made looking for TV channels a little annoying. It was busy (which is good for business), but my husband said it was noisy. I slept through it all 😊

The staff was really friendly and very helpful. We would absolutely stay here again!

Our room was really nice, unfortunately, we had booked a room with two double beds, and ended up with one King sized bed (a friend and myself were in the city for a concert, hence two beds). But we were in a hurry, so didn't have time to have it switched. The only other thing that we didn't love, was housekeeping knocked on our door at 8am to clean the room, which seemed incredibly early. They were very friendly, but I didn't love being woken up at that time. Neither of these things were deal breakers though, we enjoyed our stay.
