Staff were helpful and friendly. Our pet friendly room was spacious and nicer than expected, comfortable and clean. Bathroom had clearly been renovated in the past few years and was quite nice. Small window in our room specifically, but wasn't an issue. Heat and A/C. Free breakfast was great, plenty of options for a budget hotel breakfast. We didn't use it, but there's a public fenced-in dog park right across the street, which is great if you're traveling with pets! Overall great experience, especially for the price, would recommend.

good size rooms, large queen beds, good lighting in the room. Great staff, very helpful and friendly even during busy times. The person at the check-in desk in the evening, Joanne, assisted us with an issue and went beyond the call to make it work. It's really very convenient to have breakfast on site, a good number of items to choose from. So nice, to have a landline phone in the room!
The rooms are well noise insulated, but the showers are fairly loud, esp when people take showers at midnight. Absence of separate bins for biowaste (compost), recyclables (many of the little plastic containers used at breakfast) and garbage. Better info material on all things Comox would be great (around the reception desk area), for out of town visitors.

Room was clean and very spacious, bigger than we expected. Having hard boiled eggs and fruit plus yogurt included in the Continental breakfast meant we could start our days with a decent meal. Especially appreciated was the extended hours for breakfast until 10:30 a.m. After a long day of travelling, we really didn't want to get up early just to get our Continental breakfast. Many hotels cut off breakfast early, meaning tired travellers really don't have a choice. Bed was comfortable and it was nice to have the air conditioning running when we got there.
It would be nice if the heated pool was warm enough that we could have actually used it!

Superior room was quite spacious, good in-room amenities, with enough surfaces to spread stuff out on. Included continental breakfast was as expected (can walk a couple of blocks to local coffee house and to a superb local bakery as an alternative). Beds are a bit firm for my liking but perfectly fine. Didn't try the pool, but it's a nice size for a cooling dip. Main building has a large covered entrance / patio area that's great for relaxing on.
No real complaints.

I had stayed at this property many years ago and it was terrible! I was very hesitant to come again, but the rate couldn't be beat so I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. It was much cleaner than my previous visit, the staff are all super friendly, the breakfast had a nice variety, and the rooms are comfortable. It's an older property and is on a main road, but for the price it can't be beat.
Nothing really. It's an old property and with that come old property vibes. But as far as that goes they've done a good job with it.

The staff was generous with his offer of ushering us into the breakfast space even though we arrived with 1 minute until closing. The offerings were quite sufficient to satisfy our hunger and our nutritional needs.
This query does not apply to us. Re. bed; we found it a bit in the hard zone. We don't expect though a choice of say a spectrum of mattress densities when we rent - we slept alright.

Beds were comfortable. Great mattresses. Auto-night light in bathroom is a good idea. Bathroom was spotless. Overall, a comfortable and welcoming accommodation. Loved The Spice Hut recommendation.
Noisy, dramatic TV programming coming from room above. Difficult to sleep when one is being screamed at by movie characters in their roles depicting violence etc. Tapered off off after midnight.

The location is great, the room was comfortable, and clean. The breakfast each morning is simple yet varied.
The motel does not use refillable containers for shampoo, soap, or breakfast jam or yogurt. They also do not recycle breakfast dishes, plastic cutlery, or jam and yogurt containers.

The room was clean and comfortable though the view was limited. The shower was great and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was OK and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I would have preferred a bit more of a selection for breakfast but this really wasn't an issue. A bar would have been appreciated or/and somewhere to sit and relax away from your room would have been a nice touch, but again not essential.

the staff were very friendly and the location was ideal! we did not use any of the amenities, but the pool did look great.
the room we had was a little weathered, and some of the utensils for cooking were lacking. we were in a pet friendly room, so that may possibly explain some of the non-stellar condition. that said, the room served its purpose and provided what we needed. we will stay here again.
