I had the pleasure of staying at Heron’s Landing in April 2024. The suite was very comfortable. In addition to the one bedroom, it included a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room. The view of the inland passage was very peaceful. I also valued the under-building parking. So much for the accommodations. What I really appreciated about this “family operated property” was the family. Amanda and her mother were wonderful. Amanda was very helpful during my stay, and her mother actually cooks the breakfast. NO plastic disks of scrambled egg or shoe-leather sausage here. It’s the real thing. And if eggs are not your thing, a variety of cold cereals and breads are available. The young man at the front desk was very friendly and efficient, while the fellow who helped me with the key card was pleasant, even though it was somewhat late. Lastly, the location is very convenient, about halfway between Willow Point and downtown Campbell River, right across from the Sea Walk. So, if your visiting Campbell River, I would recommend Heron’s Landing over any of the ‘corporate-owned’ properties.

This is a difficult question to answer. I didn't like the fact that my schedule kept me from staying longer.

I love having a whole suite. They are a small apartment style hotel that has taken care of the building. The location is great if you have pets because they can enjoy the fresh air on the balcony and also are right across the street from an awesome ocean front trail with lots of garbage cans and doggy waste bags available.

The parking can be a bit tricky when you bring a larger vehicle. There are limited parking spots catering to taller vehicles like trucks - and they are often taken up by cars. The underground parking lot is tight, but works for most car/suv size vehicles. Trucks can park underground if they are under 6.5 feet, but it's tricky.

1 bed suite/condo was spacious, well laid out and very homey/comfortable… full kitchen appliances and fully provisioned, I.e. dish and d.washer soap, towels, kitchen plates, cutlery etc. had a full sized oven, think bed was a queen, but there was a Murphy bed and a very comfortable sofa to lounge on, along with a matching chair. The unit has everything you’d need to stay a day or month. Very well appointed bedroom, living and dining room furniture. Lots of closet space. Fabulous view!!! Breakfast included was very good, hot scramble with sausages, toasts, fruit, cereal and all the fixings. The whole place had old world charm with updated touches where necessary, bathroom was clean and modern.

We had a front sea facing unit and there was traffic noise from the heavily trafficked roadway, but that did die off for the most part at night. The expansive ocean view more than made up for it though. Rooms down each side of the building and towards the back would likely hear less road noise.

Check in was terrible. The guy couldn't speak English. I couldn't understand him and he couldn't understand me. He got frustrated and angry at his own incompetence!! I booked on line and when I arrived he aid there were no rooms available at that price. Another couple arrived and he gave them a room at my quoted price while I stood there unattended. He then tried to sell me an upgraded room at a higher rate. I was not impressed.

This property is located across the road from the ocean and our room had a nice view. Our room was clean and fresh when we checked in. This is an older property but appears well maintained. The bed was comfortable and we liked the full kitchen. This unit was set up like a spacious one bedroom apartment. The breakfast room is nice and the food was good. We used the free parking in a secure parking garage. There is also outdoor parking out front.

The check in was a bit haphazard. The fellow couldn't find our booking at first and we weren't advised of the elevator at the other end of the building so we carried our luggage, coolers etc up a few flights of stairs. Not a big drama but completely unnecessary.

I loved the breakfast as I didn't expect any savory items, but there were scrambled eggs and sausages. The staffs were all very pleasant. Just a few minutes of a walk to a restaurant.

This is fully expected for this price range, so just a word of warning to others. The walls are a bit thin even though the other guests were speaking in normal volumes.

Location to bike and paddle, historical interests nearby. Close to ferry to islands, an ocean view deck, comp breakfast*so many optional, de-lish! Underground parking, what!? EVERYTHING within 10 minutes drive. Walking path in front of the Inn. Doggy treats. Big TV. Brochures of highlights on the island. Keep up the great work!

I love the decor, it just made it feel so homey rather than the typical Hotel decor I just felt like I was at home and made it very comfortable. Also having an elevator to get to our level where our suite was located was very handy which most hotels do not offer that we were looking for in that area.

I honestly can't think of something I would say that I didn't like.

Older hotel but clean and comfortable beds. Garage parking was nice and they were kind to my dog. I would stay here again as my overall experience was very positive.

Traffic pulling out of the parking lot. Full hot Breakfast is good but would be nice if it started at 06:30 instead 07:30 or at least have some grab and go options at 06:30.

Room was alright, from the little balcony there was also some seaview. Unexpected, the hotel offered complimentary breakfast which was standard OK.

Unfortunately the room was warm and no A/C's but a standalone fan was provided. Checking in was a little weird, since there was no-one present, but we had to do it by the phone which was placed on the counter. But it worked anyway. Be aware that the hotel is positioned on a through road, so when sleeping with the window/balcony door open, you will be woken up with cars in the morning.
