The amenities (outdoor fire pit, seasonal-use pool, lobby lounge, shuffle board, complimentary coffee/tea) were a pleasant surprise. Staff were attentive and friendly, taking the time to show us the above features and even stepping out into the cold to direct us to our room. The king bed was very comfortable and there were chocolates and a welcome card from the general manager. The little details did not go unnoticed! We picked the Coast Courtenay Hotel for its proximity to the ski bus stop and we wish we could’ve stayed a second night!

Nothing - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The “shared facilities” were great in the lobby and outside, the coffee machine was easy to use and the specialty fresh brewed coffee perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the outside covered patio. All areas inside and out were meticulously clean and in excellent condition. The staff were eager to help when needed. We had trouble signing into Netflix and the front desk staff clerk came up immediately to successfully reconnect so we could watch our show. The room itself was generous, bed clean and comfortable and shower wonderful. Lots of parking and the area is quiet at night, safe to walk in and close to numerous restaurants and shops. An excellent experience we look forward to repeating.

Not one thing

The front desk reception was so helpful and went above and beyond. The room was comfortable, clean and updated. Location was great, I didn’t have a car while I was travelling and there were lots of restaurants and shopping close by making it easy to get what I needed.

There are always going to be questionable characters where ever you go, it’s not the hotels fault at all. But there was a homeless woman that locked her bike on front of my room and was obviously using drugs. Again, not the hotels fault at all. Just be aware.

The newly renovated motel room was a pleasant surprise. Modern motel style with a large bed, huge television and a fabulous shower. Everything we needed in comfort and quality for a great night's sleep for weary travellers passing through. Helpful staff who assisted with luggage. Located next to a cafe and a shopping centre. Definitely would stay again and we actually did on our return.

The premises is still under renovation whilst we were there. So don't judge a book by its cover (there is much to be done outside). The laundry is yet to be completed and not available at time of writing.

Bathroom was a little small but the shower was lovely. Beds were very comfortable and loved all the soft, comfy pillows. Attendant on arrival was very friendly and helpful. Showed us to our rooms and made us feel welcome. Attendant when checking out asked how our stay was and was very friendly. Dogs were welcome and the grassy space outside our room was appreciated.

A large truck was parked outside our room the whole time with a cooling engine going off and on throughout the night loudly. Renovations were ongoing into the evening.

The recent upgrade has completely changed this hotel. It is fabulous. Valery at the front desk was super helpful and hospitable. The beds comfortable and as quiet as possible for the location. The coffee machine is a nice touch and having real cups, mugs, and soap/shampoo dispensers for environmental consideration is fabulous. We will stay again on our next visit after giving up on this location before the recent revamping.

It near a busy street but we didn't find that a problem.

Very happy with the service upon arrival from the front desk agent and they were very helpful. Hotel has been nicely updated and renovated making for a very comfortable stay. Thoroughly enjoyed the waterfall shower and upgrades to the room such as the usb chargers built in to the head board. Location we really enjoyed having services within walking distance of the hotel that made it a great place to stay.

Convenient area, gas station, pharmacy and restaurant all within short walking distance. Very clean, even the parking lot is clean. Super friendly staff from cleaners to the front desk. I LOVED the shower, if you like good showers you’ll appreciate the ones here (some of the rooms have blue led lights in the shower heads); and also, kitchenettes. I really found kindness in their bath and spa products titled “Bee Kind”.

There wasn’t anything that I could really think of that I disliked.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that a Coast Hotel moved into the old Travelodge location. Being a new hotel, it was extremely clean. The bed was comfortable, the room TVs are nice and big, the AC was ice cold and the showers were awesome. The guy at the front desk was extremely kind and very nice. He told me the hotel only opened a few days ago and apologized that the pool wasn’t ready yet.

Feels weird that it’s an old motel converted into a Coast but honestly, I had no complaints.

The shower was one of the best I have been in. Nicely renovated, with a rainfall head and separate hand wand. The shower head was actually high enough to stand under, 6'6", and had enough pressure to get clean. The hand wand had great pressure as well. The little led lights on the shower head, blue for cold, green for warm, and red for hot, were a nice touch.

The water flow in new tap in the bathroom sink was unbelievably loud....the faster the water flowed, the louder it got...took a video but wow...looks good but sounds bad...
