Bluebird Motel

Rooms were very up to date...more so than description, led us to believe.

Smoking outside of EVERY room. I wish there was ONE smoking area, as far away from the doors as possible. Every time I left my room, there were clusters of people smoking, overflowing ashtrays, smokers stench. It was disgusting.

For the first time when I saw this motel from the outside, felt a bit scared about its appearance. When I entered the room, it was nice, clean, and good. Had an air conditioner, a microwave, a big refrigerator and a big spacious kitchen with some accessories in it. Was easy to prepare food for the kids. The staff at the reception was kind and friendly.

Outer appearance could have been a bit more appealing.

The Bluebird is about a 10-15 minutes walk to downtown Nanaimo (5 min drive max). The pricing was great it has everything you need. The room was clean. Could do with some minor touch ups i.e. repainting in some parts which they may be in the middle of as you can see they have changed somethings around in the room (there where a couple of small patches, the most part was all good).

It would be nice if there was some sort of fly screen(mesh) on the windows so we can open them up to let in some natural air. But that’s just a personal preference.

It was a great motel.. only problem was we stayed in number 30 and it was by the smoke pit so a lot of smoke came in our room through the air conditioner and the people out there are very very loud!! We could here everything they were saying even when they were quietly talking and some people were so loud we couldn't sleep. But other then that the staff was great!!! It was very very well priced and excepted my family of 5 in the same motel room and I loved that cause I wanted all together

Location was fantastic, rooms were decent and clean, location, location, location.

Ac didn't work great, it worked but not great and we only got 2 towels for our 3 person booking, meant to ask for a third one and just kept forgetting, same with the wifi password, didn't get it up front and kept forgetting to ask. I'm sure both things would have been provided had we have asked.

The motel was clean & staff friendly however it is dated. Definitely needs new mattresses. Location was good, close to downtown & the harbour walk.

Mattresses need replacing.

This motel is good enough for cheep traveller. It was a good stay for us. It’s walkable distance for us to ferry terminal, to harbour walk, to downtown.

The refrigerator door hit the ground and did not open completely. Suddenly the hot water in the shower turns into water.

They cleaned my room every day. The room was big and clean. It was close to the ferry terminal and other amenities like grocery store, macdonalds, and highway access.

great friendly staff to great you we have stayed here twice and both times the staff are friendly and accommodating

it’s an older motel needs some new tubs but was still worth the rate

I have never been so in love with a property as lovingly maintained and meticulously well-managed as this one. I am finding myself in a state of utter disbelief at the above and beyond service i experienced while visiting.
