Booked this after spending 2 days in Canmore. It is so expensive in Banff and Canmore, I didn't book more than 2 nights there. I think Radium is a nice, little town for staying near Banff if you don't mind an hour of driving. The drive is scenic. There are also Kootenay national park sites and trails on this road. I did the Stanley Glacier hike and it was beautiful. Radium has a few restaurants and grocery stores, it is quiet and less crowded. It was nice to visit the hot springs swimming pool in the town. The motel itself is well maintained. It looks old but it is clean and in good condition. WiFi was pretty good. Nice flowers all around. Only improvement could be hard floors instead of carpet. It was pleasure to work with Tom, the owner. I think he is the reason why this is probably the most popular motel in the town. Very friendly and eager to serve his guests.

Change carpet or install hardwood/laminate flooring (better).

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They gave us an excellent explanation of the amenities of the town, the sights to see in the area and the locations of everything on a detailed map. All of the suggestions were based on our plans for our trip. The motel was well taken care of and clean. The location was easy to find and within a reasonable walk from downtown and the hot springs. There was a beautiful mountain view from our room and an even better view from the bbq area for the guests to use.

The staff were very friendly. They showed us to our room and explained where we would find everything we needed for our stay. Since we were staying for six nights they were kind enough to put a larger fridge in our room. Supplied us with plenty of fresh towels. It was clean. It's an older motel but it is comfortable and you get a parking spot right in front of your room. Beautiful view of the mountains as well. Pretty park right across the street. Walking distance to so many things. Great stay. We would stay here again.

Close to hot springs. The owner of motel was very friendly and exceptional service. Knew motel had been around a lot of years so wanted to experience a bit of the old charm of the place. Rooms are small but had everything you would need. Could use some minor touchups and updates in bathroom but was very clean.

The hotel host was very inviting and personable. He took us to our room and told us where to park upon arrival. The location was central and scenic. Plus, the room offered that rustic charm from the '60s. Everything was clean, hot showers, and coffee to make it in the morning with cream. Overall, very charming and dog-friendly to boot.

Location was perfect, and the staff were excellent! The property is well cared for. The bedding was just amazing! Nice cotton sheets and cover, fluffy pillows.

The only thing I didn't like was the bed itself. It was quite springy and soft, which my back didn't like. But as I said above, the bedding itself was great!

For what it is, the Gables Motel is wonderful. The gentleman who lives on site (I didn't catch his name!) was incredibly hospitable. This especially shown through when there was an issue with our booking at check-in, and booking.com was not willing to help! You truly couldn't ask for a better location, and the heat in the room works incredibly well. There was a Keurig, with cream, sugar and Splenda. They sell small items in the lobby, such as snacks, souvenirs, toiletries, and ice. Liquor store and grocery are a hop skip and a jump away!

The room has some wear, but that's to be expected from a place as well travelled as this one. Overall was quite clean. Some buttons on the remote needed a 'special touch' to work, ie. Holding said button down for a longer time.

Great location. The owner was very helpful and took the time to walk to our rooms and make sure we had what we needed and answered any questions we had. We enjoyed the back patio area and use of the corn hole game.

It was unique, cozy and clean. The host Tom was warm and welcoming. for a family owned business you can tell there is pride that come thru to their customers.

Well the front door to the office needs to be marked a little bigger.

Owner came out and met us as we pulled up and greeted us before he even new we had a reservation. We have made this are Radium Stop in the future highly recommend they’ll take good care of you.
