This Bed and Breakfast is located on a hill overlooking St John. It is a beautiful location with easy access. The decor was beautiful and owners very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a hot delicious breakfast made for us every morning by the owners who chatted while making it. Overall I thought this place was great and thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

Our room was full of antique furniture that we felt odd using. Our first night my husband nearly fell through the bed and when he investigated to see if we needed to contact our hosts, we found that the bed frame was broken andhad been quickly repaired. My husband fixed the bed and we went back to sleep. The window frames in our room were also rotted through and in dire need of replacing, so we felt uncomfortable opening the windows. We didn’t bring it to the attention of the owners as it was obvious and didn’t really impact our stay, I assume these things are in their list of repairs as they have only owned the place for a few years.

This B&B is absolutely charming. The historic room I’ve stayed in was incredibly pretty, it even had a clawfoot tub in the bathroom. Even though it’s an older historic place, it does not give creepy vibes at all. The breakfast was also very good and the staff were all exceptionally friendly. If you’re in St. John, you should definitely stay here.

The property is great. If you don’t have a car, be prepared to take the bus for up to 10 minutes or walk 25 minutes into the city center. The walk is not too bad since you can walk the nice Harbour Passage Trail.

This is an amazing and dreamy place. I was so impressed with the cleanliness. We stayed in room 10 the crows nest. I expected for such an old building to find some dust. I was so impressed that even the minor things like wall outlets and thermostats were dust free. The fact that you could explore the building and really appreciate its history was amazing. Our room was gorgeous. The spa tub was heavenly. We were treated to lovely breakfasts each morning. The owners are so knowledgeable about the property. It was so nice to hear about its rich history. I couldn't be more thankful and appreciative of our stay at the Historic Homeport Inn. I will 100 percent be back.

The only thing I could complain on is the pull out bed. And it's literally only cause there is a what didn't you like question. To be fair I have yet to find a comfortable pull out bed anywhere I have stayed.

If you are looking for that authentic historical experience you will love this place, even more so if you have an interest in the nautical history and location. The hosts were very helpful with directions and snippets of information and Neil provided the excellent breakfast, with GF options for my wife.

I guess with historical properties Air conditioning wouldn't be in keeping with the period features, but unfortunately we visited during a period of warmer than usual weather, but were provided a fan for the room. Going by the pictures on website, we were looking forward to the big bowl of fruit salad, muffins and pastry's, the cooked breakfast was lovely and varied, but would have been nice to have the option

This is gorgeous place. It is beautifully decorated and combines historic and comfortable in a beautiful way. The room was very spacious and the bathroom is enormous. Breakfast deserves a special praze, as it was both delicious and beautifully served. The Widow's Watch is nicely furnished for you to have a relaxing time with a cup of tea and views of Saint John.

The extra sofa bed in our room was not very comfortable.

We loved the location and the convenient access to all things we needed during our brief stay in St. John. Our hosts were helpful and even packed a breakfast to accommodate our early departure for the Ferry to Digby

Of course there were the limitations of a very old property- but these are things you expect. The hosts have done every reasonable thing to keep the historic home historical and also make it comfortable.

This is a beautiful historical B&B that has been very well maintained. In fact the owners are currently doing more work to the outside to maintain this beautiful building. The breakfasts cooked fresh each morning were plentiful and great, with options available to meet my dietary allergies. We were able to walk to downtown and the reversing falls.

The bed mattress could have been more comfortable. I spoke to the owner and learned that ours is one slated for replacement.

Unfortunately our time connection was so limited with our overnight stay, connecting with the ferry, we didn't get sufficient time to appreciate the property. Our departure was pre-breakfast, and a lovely brown bag, assembled with nice variety, was awaiting us in the common fridg breakfast area. It served us well on the ferry ride, more than we could eat.

We missed having hair dryer in room, but this may not be as common outside the US lodging. Grocery was nearby to provide any cooler size drinks, etc. needed for travel. As we were on a 2 week travel, it was necessary to have two suitcases. Not expecting to have 2 flights to carry our suitcases; however in this aged facility, a lift shouldn't be expected.

such a beautiful old home with large comfortable suite and bed, large bathroom with jetted tub perfect for weary body(; Check in was easy. And a map provided with location of restaurants and places of interest. Lovely small garden overlooking Saint John. Breakfast was delicious: omelette with bacon, fresh fruit and juices, coffee, teas, yogurt and jams. Perfect for the start of the day!
