Lois and Bill are very sweet and amazing hosts! It was a real privilege and honor to meet them. From the charming and welcoming owners to the old world atmosphere of the establishment, our stay was beyond expectations. Just felt like home away from home especially during the Christmas time when we were home sick. The breakfast was beyond amazing and we even got the recipes and yummiest homemade ketchup which I even tried to make it myself but it wasn't even near to how Lois makes it. We are so thankful for the hospitality. We would love to stay here again the next time.

Lovely bed and breakfast with tons of character! The building kept with it's roots from 150 years ago, and yet it has been modernized with newer electrical, central air that kept the place nice and cool even on a very hot summer's day, and the things you take for granted such as high speed internet in a small town, and cable TV in every room. I think every room also had their own bathroom as ours did. The owners made you feel like family visiting from out of town, and the breakfast and other goodies were amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone needing a place to stay in the area. We were minutes away from Wasaga Beach and Blue Mountain Village. I could go on and on about this place... Even Simon the cat was a great host!
There is nothing negative I could say about this place!

Lois and Bill were very welcoming and made sure we had an excellent stay. They provided recommendations for places to eat and entertainment and how to get these locations. They were always ensuring that we had everything we needed, happy and enjoyed chatting with you if you wished. They inquired about our food restrictions prior to our arrival for the included breakfast. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, with homemade pesto, ketchup, biscottis and breakfast loaves like for example one morning blueberry and lemon, egg crepes filled with mushrooms, homemade sausages with a baked tomato topped with pesto and the second morning we had orange zest French toast with maple syrup, ham and tasty potatoes. There was also a homemade fruit salad. They had an assortment of teas and coffees with the hot water for tea ready when you arrive for breakfast which you help yourself and with as many refills as you like. They introduced us to other guests if we happen to meet at the same time. I have a hard time to remember names and she has a board with the first names of the guests, which is awesome. Their backyard is large and very peaceful with mature trees and a pond filled with fish with comfortable chairs to relax in. We enjoyed the hot tub with other guests after a full day of fantastic cycling and Lois and Bill provided an unexpected and very pleasant surprise! We slept very well, it is well located only a short walk to town, the rooms have the sink with mirror outside of the private ensuite bathroom with shower which is very convenient. All in all, we had a terrific time and would go again in a heartbeat!

Breakfast was prepared fresh every morning and catered towards what each of us liked. I liked how the wonderful owners Bill and Lois double checked what we can and cannot eat. There was freshly baked biscottis or cakes every morning and coffee and orange juice. The service was excellent and we enjoyed having our own table for three days straight. The room decorations made us feel like we were in a movie from 19th century. We enjoyed learning about the very interesting history of the building from the owners, we were told the bathtub in our room was the original piece from when the house was first built. The hot tub in the backyard was the cherry on top, especially after a long day of skiing. We would love to come back! Thank you for everything, Lois and Bill!
Everything was perfect. A bit more variety in breakfast (cheese/jam/different vegetables etc.) would be even better.

Lois and Bill are exceptional hosts who go above and beyond to make your stay memorable and enjoyable. The little things such as the homemade treats, coffee and tea service, greeting guests at the door, etc., show you how much they enjoy having people stay with them. They also went out of their way to accommodate our needs which helped us relax and unwind during our time with them. Finally, the breakfast is outstanding! I highly recommend staying at Gables Bed & Breakfast.

I appreciate the Victorian style and theme of the house, as well as the host’s attention to detail. The customer care provided by the host was exceptional. I enjoyed learning about the history of the house and its construction, as well as the recipes for the homemade breakfast.
As the house is over 100 years old, it’s normal to hear the wooden stairs creak as you use them. However, it’s pretty quiet during the night when everyone is asleep.

Great food, excellent hot tub, nice rooms.
Pet Cat “Simon” was not disclosed online. & more privacy during time spent at location would have been nice. I know it’s a B&B but my wife & I are private people & felt we had to be “entertained” once we arrived. Also after our night out we get rushed into the bedroom instead of being able to relax in the common area.

The location was great for us. Close proximity to things we wanted, yet far enough away you didn't hear the traffic. The breakfasts absolutely great. Fresh fruit, fresh baked pastry to start and a great main dish. The host and hostess treat you like family and are a pleasure to get to know. There is plenty more to say, but you have to experience a stay here yourself. I tip my hat to a couple that enjoys doing everything they do to help make your time away enjoyable. This is a Bed and Breakfast we will certainly stay at again.
There was absolutely nothing that we didn't like.

Lois and Bill open much of their home and property to their guests. It is easy to find and conveniently located in the village. It is close enough to Wasaga Beach to be convenient, but far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle. Each room has as it’s own bathroom and fridge. The backyard and hot tub are lovely additions to helping guests truly relax.
The home has been kept authentic. This choice has its positives, including the charm that comes with a century home. The downside is that the rooms are not very sound proof and the stairs are creaky.

It was a beautiful stay! The B & B turned out to be not just a place to stay the night, but a great tourist experience in its own way. The house is a gem, the breakfast is fantastic and the hosts are as charming as you can imagine. They put their heart and soul into this place and you can feel it! I won't tell you all the little sweet things they do for their guests, I'll let them surprise you 😉
