Great location! Right behind the bus station, easy access to the subway. 5 minutes walking from Quarter Latin which is really nice. 10 minutes walking from The Village. Walkable distance from Old Montreal if you like to enjoy the city on a walk. If on car, there is a safe parking from Enterprise a few meters from the hotel for a very good price. Overall it was more than I expected for the price. I booked a private room with private bathroom and it was tidy and clean when I arrived. Super comfy. Staff was super welcoming. I was there just for one night so I did not have time to check the hotel pub, but it did look good. Many backpackers. Montreal is always amazing and my go-to place for boring weekends.

The bath had no safe bar for us to hold on. The shower box has no door so the moisture fills the bedroom

This was my 1st time staying at the Samesun Hostel in Montreal. It was a nice change from the other hostel that I usually stayed at. I had a nice private room with a double bed and my own washroom and shower. The location is great next to Berri-UQAM Metro. This is very central it is an interchange station. Also, you can easily walk to Old Montreal as well and around downtown. I made use of the kitchen which is great way to save money. They have really good beer from Boréale which is local from Quebec. The bar tender was very friendly when we chatted briefly one night. Thank you Samesun Hostel for a wonderful week in Montreal. I would consider staying with you again next time I return.

My only complaint is that there were no tea towels to dry dishes and put them away. The drying rack gets stacked with too many dishes that need putting away to have space. Also, the kitchen is smaller than usual for hostels. One has to try and find a spot to store food on the shelves and in the fridge. The breakfast was not too bad. I just wish the orange juice was not watered down. Also, I can understand why there was limited breakfast items due to grocery prices being higher now. Things like eggs and more fruit would be nice. It was nice to have apples at least for fruit.

The staff was so incredibly nice and helpful, I was having trouble feeling comfortable in a mixed dorm and they moved me to a female dorm no questions asked and been super friendly my entire stay. Also, I did my laundry there in it came out smelling amazing!

I know it had nothing to do with the hostel but I did feel uncomfortable in my mixed dorm since I was the only female - I feel like someone should have told me when I checked in that I’ll be the only female and make sure I’m okay with that - I was moved to a new room eventually. Also, I chose this place because they are known for organizing activities, tours and such and there were none besides beer pong on Friday night.

The location was perfect, right on the intersection of a big metro station and bus stop. The room as brilliant as each bed had a curtain and a locker, there as also a fridge in the room that was very handy. The breakfast was lovely, fresh muffins and bagels. And the service was expectational, I had a few issues of my own infliction whilst there but the staff were patient and really helped me. Especially a gentleman who has only been in Canada doe a short time from France. They were also all very personable whilst serving at the bar.

Unfortunately, there was maintenance work done whilst I was there and this meant we had no access to water for a few hours but we were given water bottles to drink and use.

Breakfast was pretty good. No eggs and no meat but still a good breakfast. The private room was tiny but it had everything we needed. The staff were welcoming and very pleasant. We had to unexpectedly extend our time in Montréal because our car was badly damaged by a hit-and-run driver. The police found the guy and arrested him. We were at the mercy of our car insurance folks who were slow to respond. The hostel is next to a meteo stop so that was helpful. Lots of ethnic restaurants in the neighborhood and a huge IGA supermarket. The common kitchen in the hostel was small but adequate as it was not heavily used.

Our bottom sheet had a burn hole in it. We didn’t do it!

We enjoyed the camaraderie of the hostel breakfast room and meeting other travellers. We liked that it was close to the Metro. Good vibe. Good location, a block from upper St Catherines street.

The morning stuff wasn't friendly. Unless we spoke to them, they did not speak to us. No greeting or sense of welcome. Quality of the breakfast ingredients was not good. Coffee not great-weak, orange juice was watered down. No cream for the coffee. Not enough toasters for all of the toast and bagels that were waiting to be toasted. One of the toasters seem to be out of order leaving only one for all of the people waiting. Would be nice to have some cream cheese for the bagels. Boiled eggs would be good. Need protein for the day 😁. For the money spent on the room the breakfast was very poor. Queen size bed would be nice in the private rooms. Also no place to put the toiletries in the bathroom. No shelves no cabinet. Overall, too expensive for where we were and what we got.

Perfect location : ( 5 min.from both : Main metro station Berri Ucam & Rue Ste.Catherine ). Friendly co- operative staff : ( specially , Adam , Olivier , Perrine , Ch arlotte & Daniel). Free daily breakfast ( open buffet ). Spotless clean spacious rooms & comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen & refregirator to coock your own dinner. Bed lamp + socket + shelf + curtains for each bed is a big Plus..

Breakfast same everyday ( I spent 12 nights ) + No more apples or any fruits as before....Toilets in dorm need more attention. No real common area to communicate with other guests.

Great location as it’s walking distance to Berri UQAM station which is the main subway station that connects to many lines. Good selection of breakfast like bread, bagels, and waffles with lots of condiment options, as well as fruits, muffins, and cereal. Lots of seating space in the main lobby area. Space is tidy and well kept.

The room was a little small and cramped for 8 people in one room. One washroom to be shared amongst 8 people is a little much and would be nice to have more washrooms available.

No complaints! Nice welcoming vibe. Friendly and helpful front desk. I got a private room and it was clean and comfortable. Chill vibe, tap beer and other drinks in the reception / common area. 5 dollar pints between 6 and 9. Was exactly what was expected, actually the room was slightly more comfortable than I anticipated. There was an accidental double booking with my room. I got a downgrade and a pretty significant discount. And when I got to my "downgraded" room I was happy that it happened because the "downgraded" room was more than I could have ever needed anyway, so, win win for me and the hotel. But the communication was great and the resolution prompt and efficient. Montreal is pretty easy to get around and this location is good.

The beds are very used, the mattresses already have the shape of people, so they're comfortable on the sides but sunk in the centre.
