Second time staying at this location. This hotel has a great location. You can walk from the Aereo station to the hotel and you can walk to the Fundadores mall and other points on Avenida Santander as well as Centro. Staff were nice and helped hold our bags after check out which made things easier. The location has a restaurant on site as well as a gym and a bar. Restaurant has a wonderful view. On Sundays, when the street is shut down for excercise, you are about five minutes from the dance classes and all the action.

The hotel is on Avenida Santander so if can be noiser than other hotels but this is not a deal breaker. The elevator is a bit tight but once again - this is not a deal breaker.

The breakfast was really good. The staff was also helpful as I didn't speak fluent spanish. They had breads, fruits, egss, meats, etc. Enjoyed the coffee. Wonderful views of the city while you are eating and from the room I had. Excellent location to Tram and Mall. The gym exceeded my expectations. There are also meeting rooms and other facilities on site if you are a business person.

The location can be a little noisy at times due to where it is located and the way the hotel is constructed. Traffic and street noise quiets at night. In my opinion, easily walking to the Fundadores Mall and Tram far outweigh any noise so this is a minor issue.

The Carretero is a semi-standard hotel with all the normal perks, meeting rooms, a gym, a buffet breakfast. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful, the room ok, the buffet breakfast a nice combination of local staples and standard continental/full breakfast. Within walking distance of the old centre of Manizales, on the main road. Parking at the back, useful.

everything was perfect; every person who worked at the hotel was very nice. The room always was clean, and it is very spacious and with a beautiful view of the downtown.

The breakfast is delicious and you get it served with a view. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the counter personnel was speaking English. A good choice.

The room including bathroom had no ventilation at all. A severe construction mistake.

The hotel is clean and very comfortable within walking distance of everything you want to see in Manizales. The breakfast was delicious and the gym was surprisingly good. The front desk was able to organize a private transport for us to Salento which made planning everything really seamless.

The hotel was far away from the most recommended restaurants to go eat.

We alway stop here and the employees know us already. We have been coming here for more than 25 years. Very well placed, close to the theatre where my wife works.

Bathroom has some items that are not working properly, has a funny smell, most probably humidity. We wanted to use the Sauna or Vapor and it was out of order, it´s been like this for a while. Breakfast used to be much better, it has gone down a bit.
