Muchas gracias to the owners from Hotel Casa Carlota. The Hotel is near from Tamarindo, but you may be need a car to go there. For us it was perfect far away from the trouble. But its close to a supermarket. The room was very clean and we had enough space. You also have a fridge and a coffeemachine. We used the kitchen outdoor in the cooking area for the breakfast. There‘s also a swimmingpool, which was cleaned everyday. The owners are very friendly and they also give us good suggestions. This place is fabulous. It is really thoughtfully designed. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Communication before and during the stay was excellent and helped us to find the place in relation to bus stops. The room was very clean and modern. The bed was comfortable and both sheets and towels were fresh and white. Fridge and coffee maker provided. The bathroom was cosy, but perfectly acceptable with a good and hot shower. Plenty of shelves and hooks. The hotel grounds are very secure and there is a nice pool area plus hammocks outside the rooms. It is across the road from a supermarket, 10 minutes walk to local restaurants and a bus or taxi ride to Tamarindo itself. It is convenient enough in its location to make it a really good value stay when compared to alternatives. Highly recommended.

Just small issues and suggestions really. The design of the rooms means the patio was the only natural light into the room; but, the curtains often had to be closed for privacy. Perhaps a light inner curtain or voile would solve this. There was lots of shelf spaces but a couple of suitcase stands and some more hangers would be useful. Also, a way to indicate if cleaning is required, such as a sign for the door. Tea and milk or creamer would also be a nice addition. None of these is a reason not to stay at this wonderful place. It would be a score of 9.5 if possible.

The hotel is not actually in Tamarindo, it's in Villarreal, which is very close to Tamarindo. It has a gate, so your car and valuables will be safe. Each room has AC and hot water. Bed was comfortable and clean. There's also a swimming pool which was cleaned every day and a cooking area for guests. The owner was friendly and sent us lots of suggestions on Whatsapp. Good value for money since everything else was fully booked for the BPM festival. Close to supermarket and restaurants.

Home Away from Home! A young couple owns this property and have invested their heart and soul into making this business a success in the midst of this awful Global Covid pandemic. This is reflected in the attention to detail. Everything is very clean, comfortable beds, quiet aircon, bottled drinking water, nice pool area with a dining table, bbq and microwave if you wish to pick up some food and enjoy. There are big supermarkets within walking distance. Casa Carlota is monitored 24 hours a day for added security. The town of Villareal is 5 kms from Tamarindo which is a busy, noisy surfing beach town. Most importantly these are people you can trust and they will go to great lengths to help you with anything you need!

The cold showers are refreshing after a hot day in the sun. The owners told us that they are going to install solar panels so they can have hot water in the near future.

I travel a lot and I don't think I've met friendlier or more helpful hosts at this hotel. Due to a shortage of rental cars throughout Costa Rica, I was without transportation when I arrived at the hotel. Jeffrey and Shirley gave me a ride to downtown Tamarindo and even took time from their busy schedule to provide a personal tour of the town. Shirley even arranged an Uber taxi for me to travel to my next stop at Coco Beach. They are renovating the hotel and it is now modern, clean and reasonably priced.

The hotel is located about 6 km from downtown where all the restaurants and entertainment are located. This would not have been a problem if I had been able to get a rental car.

The owners provided free coffee as well as everything else listed. They even bought a small blender so that myself and any other guests could make smoothies...Above and Beyond for sure. The family who own this property are some of the kindest and most caring people I have met on my trip. They are very accomodating and even drove me around on my 1st day to help me get aquainted with the area. Their children are extremely polite and helpful. I will return to this hotel every time I come to Tamarindo.

very clean and tidy, comfortable bed, own bathroom and fridge, very friendly staff (they even brought me to the bus station in Tamarindo for free on short notice 😊)

can be a bit noisy (since located next to the road and there are monkeys roaring and iguanas walking on the roof, especially in the morning 😉)

Location protected by security system. Parking in front of the assigned room. Rooms are clean and well presented. Great value for money, In tactical position to explore the beaches of the province and quite close to Tamarindo and its movida.

Liquid soaps and shampoos were missing in favour of a couple of soap bars.

Location was close to grocery store but not beaches. Bonus to have coffee maker and fridge in room and access to ice.

Wasn’t sure how to get into the property. A little confusing. We had to phone them to open gate.

Nothing to complain about, everything is super clean, the owner is wonderful :) ! all the equipment is there to satisfy us, wifi, air conditioning, hot water, private parking, outdoor kitchen available, beautiful pool area very well maintained. Quiet and friendly place! We feel very good at casa Carlota and we will come back there during our next stays in Costa Rica!
