The Charles

Spent 8 wonderful nights over Christmas in this beautiful hotel that is fantastically located near The Charles Bridge. We left the hotel and felt like we were leaving extended family behind and they are very special people indeed. Kind, warm, welcoming, always smiling and spoiling guests with an attitude that clearly impresses that nothing is too much trouble if you have any questions or requests. We were given a free upgrade to an Executive Suite and it was so beautifully decorated and ornate in a typical old world charm of Prague but with all the modern amenities. Special mention must be made of Kristina and Yohannes. Two of the most helpful, kind and gentle people we have ever met. Always finding time to assist, ensuring us and all their guests are comfortable and extremely attentive to their guests needs. Kristina willingly engages with people and is very helpful with suggestions for opera, museums & musicals. Yohannes always ready with a big warm welcome, a chat and big smile. Thank you to Lucky and his team at The Charles Hotel, you are doing an incredible job of making visitors from around the world feel very welcome in Prague......The Charles Hotel is our home away from home and Christmas 2022 will certainly be a memory that we will cherish. Thank you for making our stay so special!!!!!

Nothing!!!! Everything was perfect!!!!

We were sitting next to two Irish couples at breakfast and one says to that other, "How did you find this hidden gem?" I couldn't agree more with the sentiment. One of the couples had found it a year prior. We just got lucky on Booking.com. Great rooms, great breakfast, great location. A little far from the metro, but the metro tickets work for the bus and light rail, and those are within a block. The hotel is immediately at the foot of the Charles Bridge. We walked everywhere; Old Town, the Castle, etc. It was only $15/day more than the 'shared bathroom' places, but waaay nicer.

I can't think of anything that needs improvement. Maybe the beds are a little hard for my taste, but I think that's a Czech thing, because we stayed with a friend and her bed was hard too.

Having recently stayed at the Grand on Trafalgar square in London, I was pleasantly surprised at the Charles hotel, which was superiour in every way, the breakfasts where in a different legue to the Grand, and the staff where friendly and very helpful, unlike their London counterparts. At the Grand we had to book online if we needed the room making up, the Charles attended every day without asking, very often whilst we were at breakfast. On one occasion when we had almost run out of toilet paper, we left a note, and it was replaced the same morning, at the Grand we had to remind them twice before they took any notice! The location also is fabulous, very close to the Charles bridge and within walking distance of most tourist attractions.

I could not fault the Charles in any way, shape, or form.

Big room. Great location next to the Charles Bridge. Plenty of nice places to eat and shop around. Fresh towels were provided every day. Staff was friendly and very helpful (special mention to Kristina). Nice vintage furniture.

Bed was a little hard. Radiator wasn't very hot on the highest setting, although I understand the gas prices may have something to do with this. There's a shower holder but this is to hold the shower head when you are not using it (it is low down), so you have to hold the shower head when using the shower. Also the glass shower partition wasn't long enough so quite a lot of water would easily splash onto the floor. Could do with a general update, mostly in the bathroom with the shower situation.

Good breakfast options with variety, clean rooms, perfect location (right next to Charles Bridge - 10 minute walk from Old Town Square). Incredible shower and large room with plenty of space. Would recommend to anyone going to Prague.

We came with a group of 13 friends and family to celebrate our wedding in Prague. Immediately upon arrival me and my fiance got our room upgraded to the biggest room, which was incredibly helpful for the wedding's morning and getting ready part. The location was superb, couldn't ask for a better location. The breakfast was good and had enough variety to suit our needs and dietary restrictions. The staff was absolutely incredible- super helpful and welcoming. We would like to especially thank Kristina, she helped us a lot with booking different trips, recommending activities and provided ironing boards and irons for us before the wedding day. She was pleasant to talk to and very kind.

The rooms were not silent-proof at all. The walls were paper thin, we could hear our friends coughing, walking and turning on the water in the bathroom. One night the electricity went off, the morning after we realized that the fuses were down and luckily could manage it by ourselves before the maintenance came in.

This hotel is such a quirky building. It has a lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk in . It’s beautiful decor , and the breakfast rooms have lovely murals on the wall. Breakfast was really good. And the staff are attentive and made sure the food was always topped up. Good selection and makes a good start to the day. Our room was on the top floor and wow it was really spacious, clean and a very comfortable bed. Great view onto the street below. It’s in a great place to access the beautiful city of Prague. It was our first visit to Prague and 100% recommend it. One of the most beautiful cities and lots to see and do. Reception staff are all very helpful and friendly especially Mitul who was so knowledgeable and really helpful. Thank you Mitul . We had to stay another 2 nights because of flights and the hotel made this possible without any fuss.we were even kept in the same room Thank you all for a great stay at the Charles

The holiday was great thanks to the hotel. The location is excellent, a minute walk from the Karl Bridge. Service at the highest level. Administrator Kristina helped us decide our travel plan, and besides, after she saw that we had a kid and my wife pregnant, she offered to improve the room. My wife and our daughter were delighted with the two-room apartment with large windows and just wonderful drawings on the walls. I want to say thanks to all the hotel staff for the excellent breakfasts and always a pleasant mood. Special thanks to the administrator Kristina and the restaurant worker Peter.

The breakfast area was very interesting, it felt like you were in a cave or taking a step back in time with the architecture and the paintings on the wall. The food was very good and was always changing

They upgraded us to a junior suite. The room was huge, which was great plus we even got an ironing board/iron, which was another bonus, but the only thing I didn't like was the bathroom. It was extremely small like it had been built into a closet. There was also no hook for the hand towels, so we just draped it over the hairdryer as that's where the maid placed it when we first checked in. Also, I think the shower leaked water when we would take a shower. You could only fit 1 person in the bathroom at a time. The room itself was HUGE, they could have made the bathroom a lot bigger!!

Great location. 3 min walk to Charles Bridge. Basic breakfast but tasty, with good atmosphere and nice staff.

Booking.com states the hotel has a car park. That was actually why we have selected this hotel. However it turned out the hotel has just 3 street-parking permits, that's all. Parking was a nightrmare!
