Charming hotel with very comfy beds. Friendly and attentive staff.

The noise from other rooms can be a bit annoying.

We spent one night here in mid-March, and were highly pleased with the hotel setting, amenities and staff. It is a twenty-minute walk to the edge of the historic center, and the uphill walking back was doable for this couple of 73-year-olds. This small hotel is beautifully decorated throughout with indigenous artwork and crafts which proudly showcase the local Andean culture. The wifi was excellent, the room was spacious, and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. We did not get to enjoy the rooftop patio as it was chilly during our visit with a heavy thunderstorm in the afternoon, but from a quick look the view of the city seemed excellent. The restaurant downstairs served tasty local breakfast fare, and also an excellent dinner. It was a welcome convenience to avoid being outside after dark in the area, which is safe enough in daytime but said to be a little dangerous at night (not the hotel’s fault, and seemingly a problem throughout much of Quito). The staff was very pleasant and helpful, and especially kind to allow us to stay longer than normal checkout the next morning since we had both taken a bit ill overnight.

A small boutique hotel, on a quiet and relatively safe street, right in the center of Quito. It is a short walk from the historic and most touristic streets. The room is spacious, clean, with a comfortable bed. It doesn't have air conditioning but it wasn't necessary. There is a terrace from which you can glimpse the city and mountains, a landscaped mezzanine where you can have tea or coffee. There is no elevator as it is a modernization of an old building. Breakfast is not a buffet, the items are limited but of very good quality, especially the natural juices. The small restaurant is a must at the hotel, it serves dinners at acceptable prices, with a variety of gourmet food and a selection of traditional drinks, all Andean-inspired, certainly unmissable. Highlighting the friendliness of the staff, especially the reception. The added value of the hotel lies in the cost-quality ratio.

Nothing.

The staff were amazing so friendly and helpful. It’s a really cool building and beautiful comfortable rooms with very good showers and hot water. Breakfast was amazing. Decent coffee, fresh fruits, eggs, juice, organic yogurt and granola. Good working wifi as well.

Nothing major. The rooms front road facing were extremely noisy at night. Some guests were not respectful when walking past rooms at night and woke us up. Not the hotels fault but could be worth making a sign in reception to keep noise minimal after 8pm.

A fab little hotel with the loveliest most helpful, kind staff. I loved the style of the accommodation, with really large comfortable rooms, fantastic hot water showers and an amazing breakfast of fresh juice, cooked eggs, organic muesli and yoghurt. It was one of the best breakfasts we had during our month of travelling South America. The location was good. A really short walk to the Basilica church and approx 15 min walk to the Independance Square with delish sandwich cafes and shops and the hustle and bustle. I would also really recommend heading to the top of the hill up from the hotel (5-10 mins uphill walk) where there are some beautiful cafes and restaurants with views right over Quito. It is also safe to walk at night as a good area. The hotel also has a cool restaurant, however it is a little on the pricey side.

Nothing major to report. If you have a room by the stairs it can get noisy with other guests passing through, however this is due to the age and style of the building.

Clean, spacious and great decor. 24/7 coffee and tea making facilities. Food at the restaurant was excellent! Restaurant staff - her name might have been genesis, instead of simply handing us the menu she took the time to explain our food options. Dessert was so delicious and the chef kindly gave us extra chocolate to take with us because we liked it so much. We left our luggage there for a two day trip to Tena.

Room was by the road , well ventilated with large windows but a lot of noise. Staff at front desk quoted $250 to go to Tena but we paid $80 in Uber. Day tours were expensive too so best is to find one yourself.

Great location on the east side of old town, easy walking distance to basilica, shops, park & central square, great manager (uki?) set up airport transfers, provided early breakfasts to meet guided tours, map of city with recommendations, and more-very helpful, all meals were excellent, rooms clean and roomy

Nothing with the hotel or service and staff, we did have to get more cash from an ATM to pay for transfers to airport that originally I thought I could charge through the hotel, but also needed cash for meals and purchases in small villages

The staff members of this hotel are so kind and hospitable... We had contacts with mainly Michelle and Rodrigo but the people who prepared the breakfast and cleaned the rooms were also very good at their jobs and very kind. Michelle is an excellent receptionist. She went out of her way to support us in many ways. I would definitely recommend this cozy little hotel to anyone who visits Quito. Also, the hotel is clean and walking distance to the Historical Center.

Very friendly, welcoming charming and elegant secure Boutique Hotel with Andean artistic decor from where to discover Andean culture, Quito and organise accessible tours from. All questions answered with care and enthusiasm to share knowledge about Ecuador and Andean Cultures if you are curious. Delicious house restaurant with tradition inspired Andean dishes. Very accommodating and helpful staff, attentive to newcomers security. 5mn walk to subway or bus stop to go around town, and well situated to visit historic center. Cosy outside terrasse with views. Non smoker rooms. Chakana was recommended to me by travellers and I can only strongly further the recommendation. Everything there is so well thought out, for a very affordable price. May it stay that way with the success they deserve.
