We love the location and the feel of the genuine Ecuadorian independent hotel. The staff was very friendly. They didn't speak much english, but we used Google translate and it all worked out. This was an incredible value and I would stay here again.

I did not like that the breakfast didn't start until 8:00. A lot of our day trips started earlier than that and they were not willing to get coffee to us before then. If I could change one thing it would be either having a coffee maker in the hotel or to have the breakfast start earlier for busy tourists.

The hotel has an excellent location. Restaurants, supermarket, park and the old town can all be reached on foot in a short time. The room is a dream - very spacious. The bathroom including the shower is also very large. Super comfy bed, nice couch and even a small fireplace. From the balcony you have a beautiful view. All in all, nothing was missing. The staff is very friendly and tries to help with words and deeds despite language barriers. We could even leave some of our luggage there for a week for a small fee. If we travel to Quito again, we will gladly stay at Hotel David again. Thanks for the nice days!

Spacious room with nice furniture, helpful and friendly staff, comfortable bed. The breakfast was nice. The room felt updated. The staff cared about the guests and did everything they could to help out.

Parking garage alarm across street went off all night long and was very loud and obnoxious. Hotel can't control this but they should ask that building to disable it. Also, one night they unloaded a large box truck all night long with noisy carts and people. It went on from like 10PM to 2 AM. It made it impossible to sleep. The hotel can't totally control this but it was extremely loud and annoying. The hotel's lights on the hotel outside also illuminated our room very bright and the shades couldn't block it.

The staff were friendly and coped with my really bad Spanish. We had room 31 (junior suite) and whilst the room was small it was sufficient and it had a huge shower room. The shower was really strong and lots of hot water. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. Super WiFi, amongst the best we have had these last 3 months. The breakfast was great: scrambled eggs, bread, fresh fruit, fruit juice and a hot drink, a great start to the morning and a nice view from the top of the building. Generous check-in and check out times. We were able to store our luggage for $1 per piece per day. Particularly handy upon returning from the Amazon where everything we took came back really damp. A good location, just a 20 minute walk to the old city. Small supermarket and pizza shop just a minute away and a launderette about 10 minutes (uphill) away.

It was wet when we were there and we could have done with a bit of heating. Our bathroom towels didn't dry during the day. Blinds were not quite enough to block out the light

This was our third stay in 2 weeks at Hotel David. It was really lovely going back as the reception staff recognised us and treated us like old friends. We arrived really early but they hastily prepared a room for us, we were so grateful for that after 4 nights in the Amazon! The staff are amazing. This time we were allocated room 5 (junior suite). The room was on the ground floor and was extremely spacious. As before the room was clean, bed comfortable and the shower strong and with plenty of hot water. The WiFi was superb as was the breakfast (which we had included in our room rate, you need to check). I've put more detail in my previous review. I don't think you could do better in this price range, for me it's excellent value for money 👍

Initially I didn't like the fact that this room didn't have an external window as it did get a bit stuffy since the door opened into the foyer and the water fountain. Not having a window in the morning was quite nice though as we weren't woken up by the light coming through. This room was noisier than room 31 where we were previously but I still slept "like a log".

Amazing staff! They were so friendly and helped us to book tours around Quito, they made us feel home. The room was quite spacious. The breakfast was nice with eggs, croissant, fresh juice and coffee. Supermarket and cash machine was just around the corner. We went to a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view of Quito, it was couple of minutes walking from the hotel. Overall, very good value for money!

We didn't know the property charged extra for credit card fee (and it was quite a lot in the end) so bear in mind that you are better off having some cash if you want to save some money. I noticed in Quito, everyone prefers cash.

Everything. The room was big and bright, with a really comfy bed and a nice desk. Water pressure in the bathroom was really good. All the staff were so friendly and lovely! Netflix was on the TV too which was fantastic. Included breakfast was yummy (eggs, croissant, fruit, juice and coffee). Wifi was really good too. Short walk to the historic centre, so great location for us! Overall 10/10 would stay again. Staff arranged airport pickup for us as well!

The staff at check-in was very helpful with getting our parking situated and also explained where we could find nearby restaurants and attractions. The rooms were simple and comfortable. Be prepared to walk some stairs. The breakfast was nice, located on the top floor. Just south of the hotel, about 4 blocks away, there are some pretty hip little restaurants and diners, plus a park right across the street.

You're in the city, so expect some noise, even continuing through the night with cars, alarms, talking etc. If you stay here, it's recommended to head right to the Historical district just southwest of the hotel for walking and seeing the city. Directly west through the park, you'll find quite a few abandoned buildings and sketchy streets.

I really like the staff, super friendly and helpful! They will show up out of nowhere to give you a hand or walk you to your day trip van or just to greet you when you are back after a day out exploring. Breakfast was actually pretty good!

Nothing to do with the hotel but there was a rooster singing at 3am almost every day! I am a light sleeper so that was a little annoying but, welcome to Quito!

This hotel is incredible value for money - the staff are attentive and helpful at all times. Nothing is too much trouble to sort. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily and the breakfast is fresh and plentiful. Bonus of Netflix and good WiFi signal. Location is excellent for public transport - Simon Bolivar station is right outside the hotel on the main road

Anyone with accessibility challenges will find it difficult climbing the multiple sets of steps up to the hotel - but the staff monitor this and immediately come out to help. The breakfast room is also on the top floor up 4 flights of stairs - so do not hesitate to ask for a breakfast tray to your room instead.
