We had a lovely stay at Casa Gardenia. The place is gorgeous and well decorated, with a beautiful internal garden.The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. There are only nine rooms in total. We were the only ones on the 3rd floor where there's the nicest common area with an incredible view of the city. Best wifi we had in Ecuador, great shower and delicious breakfast. Staff is super attentive. Location is perfect, a short walk from the main sites at the Old Town. If I come back to Quito, I will stay here again.

Considering our needs, there was nothing we didn't like, but here are some things other travelers might consider. Just like most places in Quito, there's no soundproofing. However, the place was very quiet and even the street noise was minimum between 10 pm and 6 am. There's no AC but the temperature was great. I imaging it could be an issue in warm nights. Lastly, there's no elevator and it's not wheel chair accessible (like Quito as a whole). They will assist you with your bags if needed, but if you have mobility issues or extremely heavy bags, ask for the rooms on the 1st floor (i believe they are rooms 1-3).

Great view from the terrace and easy walk to all major attractions in historic center. Service was the best. Enrique delivered wine and glasses to the terrace, arranged a private tour and airport transfer, recommended great restaurants, and even helped with belt selections at the leather store across the street (we bought 4). Everyone at the hotel was nice and ready to help. This is where we will stay when we visit Quito again.

Location was great — right in the heart of the historic centre. And the staff were super friendly and helpful. The views are amazing, and the building itself is lovely. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our room was quite small, as was the bathroom. Nothing we couldn't live with, but occasionally the shower water temperature was inconsistent and the room was a big tight for two friends travelling together.

The staff were particularly friendly, they were very helpful and made us feel extremely welcome. The location is great if you’re wanting to explore the historic area. Our room was clean, and had all we needed for our stay. We loved the resident cat! They organised a breakfast box for us due to an early departure.

The rooms are a little light at night, they really could use block out blinds, I wore an eye mask which helped.

Beautiful, clean, boutique hotel in perfect location with lovely breakfast. Views are wonderful! Living/lounge areas for guests are spacious and comfortable, and the owner, Andres, could not be more kind and generous. He went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay and was equally generous with friends of mine who stopped by to visit. I recommend 100%! I loved being able to walk everywhere (from historic center to artisanal market) and have quiet place to return that felt like home.. It also made me feel good. to support sole proprietorship during this most difficult year=).

A little pricey for Quito... but worth it!

the view, safety of the area, the breakfast, proximity to everything (yet so very quiet) and the staff treating you with so much love and respect. I felt like I was part of their community.

The location was perfect to get around the old center and for sightseeing. All the restaurants and sights were within walking distance. The breakfast was really good and you always ask for more. The best part was the staff! Everybody was extremely nice and helpful!

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was great, rooms were clean and common areas comfortable. The location was within walking distance to most attractions in the historical area. Excellent value

Noise travelled throughout the hotel and rooms could use a heater.

The host, Andres, was wonderful, for example, getting us ice for an injured thumb, accommodating our late departure schedule, and drawing a map for us to get out of the city comfortably in a rental car. We also enjoyed going up to the roof deck, where we could see the city and birds while sipping our coffee.

The room was very pleasant with a nice balcony to look out on the street, but it was a bit small and had no good place to lay out our suitcases.

The location is ideally set near everything in the historic part of Quito. The view of the surrounding mountains is a plus! It was very quiet and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Maybe the pillows could be a bit softer but no other complaints. Everything was great!
