Nice location on the top of a hill. Great panoramic view from the restaurant. But please change the music in the restaurant area once in a while, after a while this loungy finnish same 5 songs every day again and everywhere in the hotel starts working on the nerves after a while ;-) First impression when entering the hotel is very 'scandinavian', but very nice athmosphere. Is located in the middle of nature so very peaceful. We have to mention one waiter of the restaurant in the evening. I think his name was Tai (don't exactly remember but he was of vietnamese descent) and was very enthousiast and welcoming. We had great laughs with that guy!! :-) So basically we had a very nice stay

You could tell it is mainly a wintertime hotel (is located in the middle of a skiing area). We visited during summertime and they were struggling keeping temperatures of the room under control. Window couldn't open so they installed an airco machine thing beside the bed, but it couldn't really manage temperature. It made quite some noise so had to turn it off at night… but then the room got very hot.… and with no windows being able to open oxygen is running low after halfway the night. Not very comfortable. Something they need to figure out for summertime guests

The rooms are beautiful! We had the one with the inbuilt sauna and it was so nice. The view from the room into the snowy forest when there’s daylight is also fantastic.

The only thing that made me give this hotel a lower rating, is the staff! I’m not sure what’s going on at this place - but every single one of them pretends not to see you when you’re at the reception desk or at the bar trying to order food/coffee. We literally stood there for 5-10 minutes each time watching the staff stack glasses / put things away etc while they pretend they haven’t seen us standing there. It was extremely odd, and frustrating. The level of customer service does not match the price you are paying to stay here, that’s for sure!!!

We stayed in a premium room with sauna (room 104), the room was spotless and the sauna in the room was incredible! Modern and heated up fully in just 40 minutes or so. The whole hotel decor was a cosy Scandi style. Staff was very attentive and would do anything for you. They have an 'Aurora alert' you can sign up to and be alerted throughout the night if the staff spot Aurora during the night! The included breakfast was INSANE!!!! So so good. Sky Restaurant is expensive with quite a small selection but food was so tasty and the panoramic views of the surrounding forests were so worth it! Just note you have to book this restaurant a few days in advance, but if no space you can get 'food snacks' lke chicken wrap, chips etc from the bar downstairs until 11pm so you won't go hungry!

Nothing, it was fabulous!

It is a very pretty hotel with great views, woods and ski slopes. It is relatively close to the city. The food is delicious and a lot of healthy and traditional options. the staff is friendly and helpful.

The room was not really what I thought I booked, but I added my friend, so maybe that’s why they changed it. Still comfy. The sauna is small and no lockers. They had no sledges for rent and it is a mission finding one to rent - so it would be great if they got some for the guests. Getting anywhere takes time, unless you go by taxi, which gets pricey after a while. It’s a 30-45 min walk up/down the hill to the first bus stop. So that was a bit of a hustle sometimes, even though we tried to use it as an opportunity to walk more.

Our room was beautiful, large and really comfortable. The sauna and bathroom were both lovely. The breakfast buffet was amazing and so varied. The lobby was a great place to relax and unwind and the bar did amazing spiked hot chocolates. The surrounding area is stunning and well worth a walk around.

The roads up to the hotel out of Rovaniemi are a bit treacherous especially if you're not used to the roads and in a hire car. I'm glad we had a hire car though as the taxi to the centre costs 20 euros and 35 euros to the airport. Both journeys are 10 and 15 mins respectively which seems like an absolute rip off.

The amazing location into the woods. The room with private sauna. Good breakfast, even if I would like more sweets choice. The restaurant with excellent dishes and beers but with little choice and too high prices

Having to specify by 10.00 am that you wanted the room cleaned. The lack of public transport or hotel shuttle to reach the city center forces people to have own vehicle or to rent it. Little choice of dishes at the bar

We loved everything about this property from the minute we pulled up outside in our taxi! The reception & bar area is beautiful and food service there was excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and the view from this restaurant is fantastic. The walking trails were brilliant and a nice alternative to skiing. We enjoyed walking to the city from the hotel, it was actually nicer than staying in the city. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights from the hotel roof terrace. We didn’t have a sauna in our room but the hotel actually has saunas anyway so we could still enjoy one.

The location is great, the view and sauna in the room were really amazing! November a la carte menu and breakfast buffet were superbe! We loved the extra touches: rain-deer pate, honey comb, black sausage, lingonberry juice, etc. We also appreciate the covered car shelter. Thank you for that!

Needs more shelving/storage space in the room. Also ,if we may suggest, making the fireplace accessible to more people or turning on other fireplaces in the hotel so more people could enjoy the ambiance would make it more charming. We didn’t like the December menu as much as the November.

Located high up above town, this hotel has the best views out of all the hotels we stayed at in/ around Rovaniemi. The roof terrace was superb for those views too. We loved our room (Mystique Sauna room) with the cosy lighting, framed window view (which can also be enjoyed from the sauna which has a window as well and large amount of space. It was incredibly clean too and we did a walk down into town via the observation tower and it was magic in the snow. Very well signposted and it took around 35 minutes.

Soundproofing wasn’t great so we could hear every word being said in the room next door, plus footsteps vibrated from rooms further away and in the corridor. This meant when other guests got up at 5.30AM so did we! Also there isn’t a lift and reception weren’t very forthcoming with helping us with our luggage. We expected it to be already put in the room given it’s such a nice hotel- but this wasn’t a big deal. Also, while the food in the restaurant is meant to be amazing and the views are incredible, we thought the menu looked expensive for little choice. Don’t let any of this deter you from staying because we still loved it

location, modern hotel, room with sauna was amazing, lobby was beautiful, staff were nice, stunning view from room window

for the price of the stay I would expect at least free water bottles in the room minibar, however these were €4 each for a small bottle. also I messaged the property weeks in advance, saying that the trip was a special occasion, they assured me they “will add the info of the birthday to the room and we will arrange a small surprise to the room” unfortunately this did not happen, which is okay but my partner was disappointed as I told him he would get a surprise for his birthday. those are the only two reasons why I didn’t give the hotel a 10, the rest of the stay was great.
