The hotel was in a good location in a central position in the town. My room was comfortable and well furnished. The bar and restaurant were well furnished and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well provisioned with a good choice of foods.

I did object to having to pay for car parking even for a motor cycle. In most British hotels the parking is free. There were few options for vegetarians. The breakfast only featured pork sausages and bacon and there were no vegetarian choices. We had one evening meal in the hotel which was rather expensive and there was no vegetarian choice. Luckily I do eat fish which I ordered. The portion size was very small.

Courtyard parking (charged) was good. The room and the hotel generally was very nice and plenty facilities for my wife who often needs to use a wheelchair. Staff were always very helpful and friendly in a personal way, which was nice. We ate in the restaurant all three nights, where service was very good and again, very personal. It's close to the Place des Heros which is the heart of Arras.

Just a minor point - in the accessible room there is a lip on the shower entrance that inhibits wheelchairs to some extent. My wife was able to cope with that so it's not something that would stop us returning.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Help yourself to fruit salad, cerial, yoghurt, cooked bacon sausage egg, bread cold meat and cheese Liked the courtyard for eating and drinking and made car parking seem very safe. Windows had external shutters which could be lowered just enough to exclude noise but still let air circulate. Very personal preference but I found the matress to be supportive but still soft, wish i could get it for home use. Electric vehicle charging at 4kw sufficient for overnight charge.

The hotel itself is a beautiful building and is kept extremely well. The room itself was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and well looked after.

There was an air conditioning unit right outside the bedroom window which was too noisy to be able to leave the windows open. Also the bathroom window wouldn't open, so it got very steamy when taking a shower. We only stayed one night so it didn't really matter but would prefer a different room if we stayed again.

Lovely clean quiet hotel, we didn't stay for breakfast so unable to give an opinion on this. Room and bathroom of adequate size. Reception staff were very friendly and informative.

Stayed for 1 night on way to final destination and 1 night on return journey. Despite booking same standard of room the rooms were quite different. Never a fan of toilet being located in bathroom, first room had separate WC. Wpuld book larger room if staying more than 1 night.

Booked a deluxe room.This turned out to be on the second floor and was only accessible by taking the lift to the first floor,walking along a corridor and up a flight of stairs.Not great after a tiring day.On check out the receptionist advised us that there are in fact 2 second floors,one of which is accessible by a lift.We will stay here again but will make sure to ask for one of those!

Tucked away in the centre of Arras, this was a great find an hour's drive from Calais. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was an easy walk to the picturesque centre (Place des Heros and Grand Place) where there are many restaurants to choose from. It was also really good to be able to park a full car in the secure courtyard. We will certainly come here again.

Unfortunately the restaurant and bar were not open on a Sunday, but there were many to choose from in Place des Heros.

Arras is a beautiful place and we enjoyed our visit to the Hotel de L'univers. We had been there once before but many years ago and it did not disappoint. The room was very comfortable and the hotel's location ideal for walking around Arras.

Hotel is looking a little tired and it would have been nice to have a walk in shower rather than a shower over a bath as they can be quite difficult to get into and out

Not a friendly welcome. was told to pay €10 to park outside. accepted the charge, parked at the corner for electric cars. after checking in, we were asked to move our car. an electric car has just arrived. when we were sleeping in the afternoon, resting after 300 mile drive, at 17.10, we were woken up, our door was unlocked by someone and then closed the door as soon as they noticed the room was occupied. No apologies. I read from the hotel reviews, some guests offered a welcome drink. No welcome drink to us, instead, a cold reception and the above experiences.

Room was large and well equipped. Centre location with bars and restaurants close by. Appears to have started to be refurbished. Bar on site and restaurant. Menus not extensive but adequate. There is a an extensive wine list, which was nice. Breakfast was buffet with plenty of choice including hot. Staff are friendly and helpful. Stayed for three nights with no real concerns.

We had a disabled wheelchair accessible room, while able to access room on first floor without any issues, room wheelchair facilities limited. Shower wheelchair accessible but you will flood room. WC wheelchair accessible. You will need to be able to transfer though. Thankfully on this visit, wheelchair was not required as partially mobile, but issues may be there. Parking must be reserved, it can get tight of you have a large vehicle.
