Location and value is what was the focus for us. As we were only staying one night we wanted to based centrally but in a well priced accommodation. Hotel Bristol met those attributes. Upon checking in we were shown to our rooms, the receptionist was great as advised I could park outside the hotel for a short while whilst we did this and directed me where to park for the evening (very convenient as opposite the hotel as the idea was not to move all our luggage to the hotel, basically leave stuff in the car). Staff were excellent, let me explain as we had an issue that evening as the hotel aircon for one of the rooms we had booked was not working 100% so was stifling hot (even with windows open). I than approached the reception that evening who quickly got the engineer to come up and brought up a fan to allow the room to ventilate. Although not perfect it was better than a stifling hot clammy room. In the morning upon checkout I had asked to see the manager to discuss the matter of the room, what was surprising and great was that the owner I believe Claude was his name came to speak with me. There was no arguments and he wasn't defensive which you would expect - the conversation was highly accommodating. Claude offered to refund the one night room rate for the respective room without any need for negotiation. I am glad to inform readers it was fully refunded as he had said so I have no qualms. All in all it was pleasant although it would have been better if the the room's aircon was working. Hotel staff and owner handled this amicably. Bar the room and aircon not working. Net net if you a looking for a well located hotel and for the price is good. Should there be issues it seems staff can help even with management happy to step in and deal with professionally. I would say if you don't ask than its your entirely your own fault.

We had a nice family room set up with two sleeping spaces and a bath with separeate water closet. The location was walkable to everything and just a short walk from the Avignon central train station.

The windows were fairly high up and it felt difficult to see outdoors or open a window. A balcony area would have been great. The water closet was oddly placed way away from the rest of the bath area and there was no sink in the WC so you had to walk through the room to wash your hands. The refrigerator didn’t work - it was on but was not cold at all. We had to ask the front desk to store some things for us. That said, for 2 nights that we were there - if was fine.

The location was on main street close to Avignon Central railway station, not to be confused with Avignon TGV station you have to catch another train tram or bus. Comfortable bed newly fitted bathroom generally quiet. Complementary iced lemon water and croissants available most of the day and evening in the lounge.

Only coffee maker in room .No drinkable tea in room or at breakfast (English breakfast tea) only flavored tea plus no milk in room. Air conditioner wouldn't go lower than 26 degs but this could be to French law.

The decoration of the hotel was very pretty. Our room was spacious, very calm and comfortable. The food at breakfast was good and there were quite a lot of options to choose from. The location is great and very central close to some nice restaurants.

The ladies taking care of the breakfast service were rude. One morning we changed our plates twice and the ladies made a face of disappointment and a sound of as if they were horrified when they picked up our plates. Another morning the lady with red hair grabbed a slice of ham and cherry tomatoes from a bowl with her hand!! Even though there were spoons/forks for that. The safe deposit box didn't work in our room. We didn't ask the staff about it though as it wasn't that necessary for us. Our bathroom was also quite old and sometimes the toilet wouldn't flush.

The decor and vibe were great (looks to be recently renovated). Staff were very helpful and provided a map and suggestions on arrival. The sitting area / lounge on the ground floor opposite reception was very enjoyable to chill in. Close to the tourism building and walking distance to a all of the restaurants. - Pre check in luggage storage: there is a locked room for luggage storage around the corner from reception. The room is unlocked via a button at reception and locks behind you as you leave. - Check in process: just the normal process - show your passport and credit card you booked with - Toiletries: body wash and shampoo in one provided via pump bottles - Access: swipe cards

not a thing!

Hotel is very conveniently located and staff exceptionally friendly and helpful! Many thanks to Claude for keeping my luggage safe when I checked out. I didn't have breakfast there, but the dining facilities appeared very comfortable and tidy. Avignon is a beautiful, friendly and charming city, and the Hôtel Le Bristol was a lovely complement to my stay. I enjoyed hearing the church bells from Chapelle Saint-Louis behind the hotel.

It would be helpful to have USB ports in the room for charging phones, tablets. My room (2) was on the ground floor, and there was an unusual odor in the bathroom perhaps from plumbing? Kept plunger in sink and toilet lid down, which helped. Based on this, I would upgrade to a room on a higher floor next time. There was some noise from the narrow street behind, and tour buses pass through there. But the window shutters help diffuse the noise and definitely keep the room dark in the morning.

An old building well modernised, including air-conditioning. We were upgraded to a family room with an extra room for kids. Plenty of space for two. The staff responded very well to our queries, even with humour. Location very good: close to the station, on a lively street, not far from the Papal Palace. The loud music in the square opposite remained outside thanks to the excellent windows.

Table space was very limited in the parents’ room. The fridge was perhaps a bit weak.

The hotel has a very pleasant Art Deco-inspired decoration. It has wallpaper with beautiful patterns and well-matched colors. There are metallic elements that complete the decor. The room was very spacious. Its location is advisable for those traveling by train, as it is very close to the central station and for those who want to visit the art museums (just a few minutes away on foot). There are shops and restaurants nearby.

We arrived in Marseille in the late afternoon and discovered that the trains to Arles had been canceled due to the sncf strike. In order not to stay in the middle of a field (which is where the train station closest to Marseille airport is) and not to lose the money of the train ticket, we took the last train passing through and went to Avignon. On the train, I booked the room. Although the hotel didn't seem full, we were accommodated in a room on the ground floor, next to the bar/breakfast room. At night we could hear the activity from the room next door and from the bar. In the morning we heard the noise of people having breakfast.

Great location. Nice size room. Very close to train and parking. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Walkable to town sites.

Air conditioning was broken for 3 days/entire stay. We did get a fan for the room, but uncomfortable sleeping. We were compensated with a free breakfast to make up for the inconvenience. Would rather have had the air condtioning!

Friendly and helpful staff on arrival and during our stay. In an excellent location, underground public car park opposite and a good choice for breakfast. I loved the Art Deco themes throughout.

Nothing major. Just that It would have been nice to have some hooks in our room and the bathroom for hanging things and it's a bit limited for space in the wardrobe for 2 people, especially if you are staying for more than a couple of nights. Otherwise everything was as in the photos and description.
