Altera Roma H¿tel

We were greeted by our host at reception who provided us with a city map, explained where to go for meals, catch buses etc. Our bedroom was on the first floor and overlooked the garden which had tables and chairs for morning breakfast if you wished or in the evening time. The buffet breakfast had a very good array of items and the breakfast manager kept an eye on stocking and refilling items where necessary. The bed was very comfy and both the room and ensuite were spacious and clean. The hotel is only a few minutes from the station which was good for day trips to Arles and Nimes. The city is opposite the station and is very flat to walk about with a lovely park to go and sit in (next to Tourist Information). Thank you again for the kettle during our stay. We will have no hesitation in using this hotel again when next in the area.

Great location within easy walking distance to the city centre – restaurants and attractions. Peaceful shady rear courtyard for some space to relax. Some staff speak good english and were very accommodating re leaving my bags from check out for collection later in the day.

The stairs to the upper level rooms are a little precarious and extreme care needs to be taken when carrying your bags up and down, especially if you are an older person. The cheaper rooms are quite small and would be very congested if there were two of you and you were staying for several days.

We were delighted with our stay here in Avignon. We had a big day of traveling and were grateful to receive a warm greeting at check in by a lovely gentleman. The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated and had a beautiful view over a the gorgeous courtyard. Free and secure parking, very quiet area, minutes to walk to the old town to explore, and one of the most delicious breakfasts we’ve had so far in France that could be enjoyed outside. Thank you!

it was a cool old building, very helpful owner and staff, close to the main town, and gated private parking and the price included breakfast. The room was very clean and had all the basic amenities including a/c. lovely outdoor seating area. concierge set up last minute winery visit, which would have been impossible otherwise due to it being a holiday weekend.

it was a little tired, needs new pillows ( we stayed at 5 hotels in France and it was true of all) they were flattened, and it was very close to the train. I quickly got used to the sound however and I could see that being a good point if you are traveling by train. the bathroom looked quite nice but my husband had difficulty washing his hair with the hand held sprayer while sitting in the tub. no option to stand.

Beautiful courtyard and building with only 6 rooms. Friendly staff and a delicious breakfast every day. Great AC for hot summer nights. Nice shower, bathroom, etc. A friendly cat to greet you in the courtyard. Better than I was hoping for!

Very attractive hotel just a short walk away from the ramparts of Avignon. Set in a lovely garden meaning you can have breakfast which was very good outside. Parking is within the hotel grounds and is very secure. The staff were very helpful suppyling lots of information on Avignon and also where to eat. Very good value for Avignon.

Be aware there is a train line very close to the hotel but it did not interfere with sleeping.

No lift (not a problem for us though, because the concierge kindly helped us get the luggage up to our room).

Excellent service! Personalized tours. Very close to the city center. They clean the room every day and good Breakfast. Next time we will stay there.

In this nice cozy hotel we didn't have the best room but the owner try to accommodate you and give the best service.

Everything was very good. The room is clean, the breakfast is good. The parking is free and safe. The location of the hotel is very good, it's a few walking minutes away from the historical city center.

Close to train station. Upgraded to an apartment. Very nice staff. Needs to spruce up entry through driveway.
