As I recently stated following a short stay 2/3 weeks ago, it was good to return to refurbished and redecorated premises with friendly and helpful staff,especially on Reception. The location is great with easy access to Calais port, Le Shuttle and Cite d’ Europe and the autoroutes, yet in the countryside and gardens.

The restaurant! Whilst the menu choice is much improved from some more recent years, and the food itself is good, the service at dinner is abominable - slow to non-existent. To wait for 45 mins between order and delivery of first course ( which itself only then came after complaint ) is unacceptable. There is a distinct lack of organisation and control in the restaurant in the evening.

If you’re stopping before traveling to the UK or vice versa, it’s perfect. Great hotel, friendly staff, cold AC, good Wi-Fi, comfortable bed and pillows (full and firm) with good linens.

The restaurant is unbearably bad. We ate dinner there at night and breakfast in the morning (it’s not near much of anything, so there’s a captive audience). We made a reservation for dinner but it was still 1 hour and 25 minutes from sitting down to getting our dinner. It was almost 20 minutes before anyone came to our table (and that was only after going to the hostess stand). It’s terrible service, pretty gross food and more slow than is bearable. The breakfast was just as bad, gross and, at 6:50 am, almost every table was covered in filthy dishes with no one in sight. The eggs were sitting in watery oil. Seriously, don’t eat there. It made me ill. I’d go to the hotel again, but I’ll bring protein bars.

Stayed here few times already and always coming back as very convenient for Eurotunnel. Facilities are very good, clean and big rooms and staff really accomodating.

Cooler in the room did not work properly this time. There was a car parked in front of footpath, so all pedestrians had to go around as they could not cross because of that car. Brought to staff attention, but they said could not do anything as is a parking slot there too. I think management should decide for either footpath or parking slot for that spot- both is impossible. Just to mention, there was no other footpath around!

Proximity to the Euro Tunnel was fantastic. Beds were super comfortable, staff friendly, easy parking. We didn’t have time to use the pool or we would’ve this is a definite perk after a long journey but we arrived too late to try it out.

The food options at the restaurant were limited and whilst my husband’s burger was delicious I was really not impressed with my chicken Caesar salad - the chicken fillet wasn’t freshly cooked as I’d hoped but pre- prepared and fridge chilled and very average. Would’ve preferred if dog friendly rooms were in a different part of the hotel to non dog rooms- the dogs in the room adjacent to us barked really loudly when we walked past each time but thankfully this was not an issue during the night at all.

The location was fantastic- right next to the Eurotunnel and a big shopping centre with a supermarket and places to eat. At the hotel, there was lots of room to park and it felt very secure. The staff were fantastic. I had read some negative reviews about the staff in the restaurant but I found everyone was really helpful and professional. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice: continental and cooked breakfast. I especially enjoyed the fresh croissants and different types of fresh baguettes. The swimming pool was really relaxing after a long day’s drive and was open until 9pm. The room and bed/pillows were comfortable and everywhere was really clean. It was great to have a kettle and a coffee machine! It was the perfect stay to end our holiday in a positive way.

Dinner was lovely but far too slow and the restaurant chairs are very uncomfortable. Breakfast at 6.30 am was plentiful but the hot food was cold, there was only once coffee machine working which was slow, only one staff until 7am., very busy, no cups as ran out. Shame as could have been really nice. I suppose you can’t know how busy it will be sadly on but maybe ask people on arrival what time they want it. Also 50 cyclists arriving at midnight and then all leaving at 7.30… if you had asked on check in then maybe more staff cld have been organised. Shame as otherwise it was ok. Reception staff were pretty miserable and not very welcoming on arrival. Didn’t point out lift or anything… this is usually courtesy when checking in.

It's an easy drive from the ferry. We were warmly greeted at reception and happy that they speak good English, as our French is very rusty. We also had lovely service in the restaurant and a very nice meal and a surprisingly good selection of beers. Everywhere is really clean and modern. The beds and bedding were very comfy. In the morning we had a swim in the pool that was warm and a nice length. It's open from 9am to 9pm.

The costume spin dryer wasn't working, which would've been useful before travelling.

This particular Holiday Inn meet all the expectations you can have. The staff are friendly and helpful, the whole hotel is clean and tidy, there is ample and easy parking and the rooms are modern and comfortable. There is also a nice bar and a restaurant that is perfectly acceptable for this kind of hotel. It is also good value for money.

Nothing really, I suppose it is a bit impersonal, but it is a Holiday Inn by a ferry terminal, so I'm not sure what else you could expect.
