What I liked above all was the real friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I walked in after a choppy boat crossing to a warm bright and cheerful reception area and was greeted immediately with a big smile, a quick check-in a help upstairs with my suitcase and shown to a warm, confortable room overlooking a peaceful inner courtyard. The following morning a different member of staff also greeted me with a warm and friendly smile. The whole place has a happy family atmosphere and nobody is in uniform which adds to the effect.

Nothing really; it is excellent value for money with a very good and copious breakfast. My only complaint, but this is my own issue, I do not like synthetic bedding. It makes me overheated; usually I remove the duvet and sleep under sheets only, but I was too tired to that and so woke in the night boiling over.

I booked 3 rooms at the hotel, one of them facing the sea. The hotel is really well situated, by the sea, very close to the centre of town and the Saturday market. The staff were exceptionally helpful and very well informed about local activities. Parking is easy and free, there are plenty of parking spaces on the side of the road in front of the hotel. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby and some historical buildings to explore. Just out of town, for those in a hurry who want everything in one place, the Centre commercial Belvédère has a supermarket and a variety of shops and eateries.

The hotel was perfect for us.

Wow! As soon as you enter this hotel you'll be so happy with your choice. The welcome is warm and sincere and the decor is refreshingly light and really well done. The room may not be the biggest but it was perfect for me. It was incredibly clean and the bed was so comfortable with extra pillows!! As a bonus it had a proper secure garage for the bike which I could access at 4am with no problem. The location faces the sea and all facilities and restaurants are within a few minutes walk. Top marks for value for money as I would happily have payed more for this hotel. Loved it!!

Loved everything!

Booked last minute. Great location, very clean and comfortable. Getting parked can be difficult due to seafront location there is ample parking but it is extremely busy. Marina area and plenty of good seafood restaurants are literally a two minute walk away.

The line receptionist was overworked with check-ins, telephone enquiries, key returns for guests coming and going, and also trying to serve drinks from the bar. Getting a drink or anything involved a wait, with too much going on around the poor front of house receptionist. Come on Hotel de la Plage guests and your own staff member deserve a better experience and support.

Very friendly and helpful at reception. Great breakfast. Good service when asking for a night cap. (Didn't try room service so can't say about that) Hotel clean and good decor. Brilliant location just off town centre - everything in walking distance. Room clean and tidy, just a little bit smaller than ideal (but probably fair enough for price)

Lift a bit small (typical old French) but we prefer using stairs anyway - though quite long corridors and steps up and down between floors (our room was the furthest from reception). But the hotel can't help being the size and shape it was! Oh - and didn't have kettle fridge or safe in room - probably not quite fair to expect that in 3-star? Room was good otherwise - and had bath as well as shower, which we always like. (And decent amount of toilet rolls - often scrimped on!)

A lovely hotel in an excellent position, overlooking the sea and 5 mins walk from centre of town. Also about 20/25 mins walk from ferry port. It looks to have been fairly recently updated and is very bright, comfortable, and stylish with modern decking and seating areas front and back. Our room was light and airy with modern fixtures and fittings, warm and comfortable with plenty sockets and good lighting. The staff were very friendly , welcoming and helpful. We had the breakfast on one morning and there was plenty of choice for a continental buffet style breakfast plus boiled eggs. Will definitely stay again

The room was fine for a one night stay in transit to the UK via ferry. The location is great for the beach and the town (including the Saturday morning market which is spectacular!) and we found street parking fairly close to the hotel in the beach area.

This was a basic room on the 1st floor with a view into the courtyard, so a bit dark and the decor a bit tired. We have previously stayed in the next grade up of room which was much nicer (higher up although still courtyard facing) and more recently refurbished. So the room was fine for an overnight stay but if you are staying for more than one night and can afford it I would recommend upgrading from the basic rooms.

The room was spacious and had all the facilities we needed. The property was a typical sea-front hotel [similar to the ones in small seaside towns on the other side of the channel] but the decor and facilities inside were modernised and not at all dated. This was a one night stay prior to an early ferry to Newhaven, so location [close to the harbour for dinner, and close to the port for the next morning], parking and comfort for an early night/good rest were the key things we needed, and it delivered. The price for a family room was reasonable.

Everything was what we needed, but just some tips - parking is free and there is plenty, but it's on street and shared with a whole strip of hotels, plus visitors to the beach, so you might need to park some distance from the hotel - we got lucky and found a space 20 metres from the hotel when we arrived at around 16:30 but later when we went for a pre-dinner walk and then after dinner, there weren't so many spaces near by. Other thing is that [like many hotels of a certain age] there are three steps down from reception to the lift, and some steps necessary in the corridors [down/up] to reach rooms on some floors.

The location was great. Clean hotel and staff very helpful

The hotel is advertised with parking, this is very misleading, there is no parking on the grounds of the hotel, there is ampel street parking that gets very busy, I did find a space along the road from the hotel however, my car was loaded with items and I felt very uneasy knowing my car was not in a secure parking area. The was no safe in the room to put passports ect.

A pleasant hotel near to the beach, harbour, and town centre. The hotel is just a short drive away from the Dieppe ferry terminal, and within walking distance of the restaurants along the harbour and town centre.

It's not a major problem, but in summer be prepared to drive around the nearby public parking area a few times to find a space. The hotel does not have private parking, but there is an underground garage further along the road if required.
