We enjoyed the whole experience during our stay. The room was beautifully set out with good facilities and very comfortable. The area is interesting with a beach within easy reach and historically important.

The difficulty in findind it. Our first stay last May took us 4 hours to find. Enquiring its situation with at least 8 people who, in turn, were unable to help us despite using theit smart phones and giving their time and effort. We nearly gave up hope completely when, with luck, a passing couple came to our rescue and helped us find your beautiful gite. We had earlier gone to tourist information office in Dieppe, who had never heard of you and had difficulty in helping us. You have a marvellous place and we almost lost hope of finding iy. Really glad we did find you Great accommodation, fantastic breakfast, all at a very reasonable price.

The property is gorgeous and has been decorated with love and care. Great location for ferry

I arrived on a very hot Sunday. I had been driving over 7 hours. When I arrived there was severe traffic congestion on the road that the property is situated. It’s a very narrow road with parking on one side. I had to park quite away from property. However, i am sure another day, not a hot Sunday this may be very different. I was probably in the smallest room which is a shame as fellow visitors who had paid less had far bigger rooms. The weather had been hot and no fans provided. My room only had a skylight so was hideously hot and stuffy. Lovely tea/coffee making facilities but oddly no teaspoons . As a solo traveller it is nice to know the host is on site but I had a remote check in which is fine but I don’t think the owners live there.

Villa Carlotta has been beautifully renovated but the owners have get the beautiful wooden floors . The 2 bedroom apartment had everything one needed. Just wish we could have stayed longer . Sadly we had to leave before 9am so we couldn’t sample the Le petite Dejeuner that we could have purchased , & had delivered to the apartment for 12 euros per person . It sounded delicious! We will be back !

Nothing … it was all lovely

It is in a safe, quiet area a short drive from the port. A great place to stay when arriving by ferry late in the evening. Communication with Alex (the owner) was excellent, she provided very detailed instructions on how to find and access the property which was really useful when arriving late as it was getting dark. The breakfast was good. I would recommend this property.

The bed in our room had a broken slat under the mattress at the bottom end. This kept falling out if you sat on that part of the bed. It had obviously been broken for a little while and could have been easily repaired. There wasn’t really anywhere in the room, other than on the bed, to sit comfortably and eat the breakfast provided which we had to do because it wasn’t warm enough to eat out in the garden (which would have been lovely).

We were very impressed with Villa Carlotta and would definitely stay there again. It was spotlessly clean and the situation is ideal. Check-in experience was very good, considering we arrived quite late at night, and we were able to order breakfast at short notice. A very pleasant overnight stay

The only comment I would make is that the TV is only usable if you have some sort of app on your phone; we would prefer a TV where you can just switch it on and watch it normally, but this is not a major issue

A lovely house with a nice little garden and easy walk to the beach. Beautifuly presented, with nice touches like the coffee machine and kettle to make a welcome drink. Clean, cosy and comfortable - I wish we could have stayed longer! Didn't meet the owner, but communicated by text, with all the information easy to understand.

The bed (if I'm being picky) wasn't easy to get in and out of, one side being against the wall.....if that's the only complaint then everything else was spot on!

Stayed only one night on our way to France. Location is exceptional, only 10 min from ferry, 15 min walk to the beach, beautiful old house. Extremely clean and quiet, could hear only birds.

Our room had only one skylight window, what could prevent me to stay there more than one night as you can’t see outside and difficult to ope to get fresh air. I know it’s not possible to change but guests need to know that.

Ideal for night-stop off the late Newhaven-Dieppe ferry before travelling on the following morning. Good info on how to find it, parking, access etc. Keybox access meant anytime arrival, which can be useful, leave as and when you wish.

on-street parking is a 'lottery' (but no problem for us as it happened).

Very happy with our stay, the rooms were excellent and the communication with the owner was excellent. I would definitely recommend.

The rooms were a bit cold at night time with no obvious thermostat to increase the temperature. We were only there for 1 night, but I’m sure if we had stayed longer and I had contacted the owner, it would have been rectified.

Villa Carlotta was a little difficult to find, but once there it was gorgeous. Breakfast delivered to the room was a real bonus. The garden was a great place to have breakfast or to sit and read. The owners were very helpful.

The villa offered a charging point for an electric car, which was what attracted us to the place. We were expecting a more conventional charger, but the system of charging from a very long extension lead, going across the garden and the road eventually worked, much to our relief.
