We didn’t use any of the facilities other than our room, but we were very impressed by our stay here. Very friendly staff and smart, clean and comfortable reception area and room. The pillows and bed were more comfortable than ours at home! Very safe place to stay- no concerns at all. Able to use an iron from reception on request, and our request ( at time of booking) for a room with a view was met, with a great view of the church at the top of the hill. All lit up at night too, which was lovely! 5 to 10 minute walk down slight hill to the Vieux Port, so the location was perfect.
Nothing really! Just for us to have had longer to stay and enjoy the accommodation and city.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the heart of the city and within walking distance to the port, Vieux Port, and many of Marseille's key attractions. It is also conveniently accessible from both the train station and metro. The hotel serves a very good breakfast and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is modern, comfortable, and although located on a busy street, there is no discomfort from the noise. The rooms are spacious and well-designed. I had a great stay here and would definitely choose this hotel again when visiting Marseille.

Great location, pretty building, comfy bed, modern and tasteful decor. Good quality toiletries, housekeeping and change of towels every day. A lovely receptionist. Great market and cafes around.
The AC in our room didn’t seem to work. It was too hot and stuffy (even though it was January) and the windows were permanently locked. We were sure we just had to wait till it cooled down, but after a stuffy night we were told we had to request for a temperature change… on the reception. Still, it was the same. Also, a few hairs on the bathroom floor which weren’t ours.

It was very clean and modern with everything in the room you could need. The location is fabulous if you plan on walking everywhere. The staff we met were friendly and efficient. The street below is pedestrianised and extremely busy with very loud music coming from a back street but we had a room on the 5th floor towards the front that was well insulted.
Neither of us are disabled but we received a disabled access room. The shower floor and our belongings got quite wet each time the shower was used as there was no curtain or anything to stop the water flooding the floor. With no bath mat provided we had already ended up using 3 of the 4 towels given within an hour of arrival. There is an AC controller on the wall but as it’s locked to 21° it’s the only option.

Unlike some of the commentaries in here, we loved the neighborhood, there was even a local tunisian bazaar very nearby. Yes, you should be a little bit careful at night because sometimes there are beggars on street. But the area is generally safe, it is on the most central street of Marseille Vieux Port and very close to all public transportation. Room size was quite sufficient and even though there was noise from the street, you dont hear anything if the windows were closed.
Only improvement we suggest is the pillows, they were too thin like a paper.

There was a sense of quality from furniture to accessories. You know nothing will fall apart if you touch it. The room was cosy and warm. The bed was perfectly made and perfectly firm. Nothing extravagant, but everything to the point.
Minute details would be: - descale the top shower head. I had to jiggle gently each rubber tip to have a nicer flow - consider a small hand towel on top of hair/face and body towels - consider a towel rack: the one formed by the under sink feet is too low: the body towel folded in half almost touches the floor

Firstly, I didn’t catch the staff members name but during my stay I lost my wallet and the staff member helped call the bus company I lost it on and couldn’t be more helpful. Lovely person and so kind. Every member of staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and very clean and the beds were super comfy. Location near to the port and many transport options.
Not really the hotels fault but the surrounding area was a bit unnerving at times, didn’t really feel like travelling through at night. The air con didn’t really work very well so it was rather hot when trying to sleep.

My room was very clean and nicely decorated. The bed was spacious and very comfortable. The woman at front desk when i arived did not speak very good english so it was dificult to comunicate but every other receptionist i spoke to throughout the rest of my stay were super friendly, i do want do give a special mention to Ryad because he provided 5 star service everytime i had any questions or requests. I would definitelly stay in this hotel again.
Location was great for exploring but as you can expect being right outside the tram stop sometimes it felt a bit too much buzz around. I didnt need to open my windows so it was not an issue but i can imagine it could be a bit noisy on a hot day as the aircon seemed to be set on a certain temperature and i could not figure out how to change it (the screen just showed a lock sign everytime i tried to press buttons to change the setting/temperature)

The location was excellent and the room was very comfortable so I slept better than I usually do! The staff all spoke good English so it was easy to arrange to leave the baggage on my departure day and return later to collect it.
When I arrived I found it very difficult to find where to place the keycard in order to put the lights on. The room was in total darkness as all the curtains had been pulled. I had to go and look at one of the rooms which was being cleaned where the door was open in order to work out exactly how to place the card. The only other issue was that the staff were rather slow in clearing the tables and replenishing the food at breakfast on both the mornings I was there.

First of all, we stayed the weekend before the late June 2023 riots in France and are aware that La Canebière was affected. We hope that the staff, customers and fabric of this lovely hotel stayed safe. La Canebière is fine otherwise - just a typical big city road, though it's closed to private traffic - an excellent location for Le Vieux Port and for trams, metro etc. Amazing walk down to the port. The nearby back streets are fascinating with markets full of fruit, vegetables and north African spices plus little cafes and cake shops. The spacious room overlooked the main road but was very quiet and comfortable. The tea and coffee plus kettle was appreciated. The breakfast room was very attractively set out.
The reception layout was a bit strange, and it wasn't always staffed when we came in, which wasn't very reassuring. They were staff, but they weren't visible. I found it a bit annoying that we couldn't just walk upstairs to our first floor room but had to use our key card to use the lift, but in retrospect I understand the extra security. We only had breakfast on Day 1. By 10am the bread was stale, so as it was quite expensive, we gave up after that. However, I rapidly developed Covid in Marseille and couldn't taste anything anyway. Advise people to have breakfast early!
