The hotel provided us with what we needed, a place to sleep during our six days of exploring the museums and sights of Paris. We got what we expected, it provides you with the basic, it`s clean and has recently been renovated. If you don't have the money to pay from 500 euros+, or even 2000 euros a night, I find that hotels like this make it possible to stay in Paris for a week or so. I always have problems with hotel beds, but here the bed to provided me with a good night`s sleep. I alway use earplugs, but the windows will have to be kept shut, and they are new and well insulated. The breakfast provides you with orange juice, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, croissants/pain au chocolate, baguette with butter and preserves (jam). You won't find a better price for a breakfast solution unless you are going for proteins. I found that the same amount of coffee and with two large cheese and ham-baguettes pluss two pain au chocolate cost around 17 euros at the nearest boulangerie = Breakfast for two people. The room is wonderfully equipped with electrical outlets for charging of phones and your other gadgets. You need to depend on the metro to get to the main sights of Paris. The Metro line 4 takes you directly to the Ile de la Cité or to the Latin Quarter in around 12-15 minutes. The area around Barbès-Rochechouart does not invite for a night life, and you would like to get away from the metro station as soon as you arrive there. The police are very present, but there is only so much they can do. Look out for pickpockets. However, the area is filled with people that aren't troublemakers, so you'd need to be out very late at night to risk any real danger, I think. Otherwise its short walk to the Carrousel de Montmartre and Sacre Coeur with the view over Paris, and Place du Tertre. From here walk the old streets like Rue Lepic and Rue Saint-Rustique.

In my view the reason that you can find hotels in Paris that don't cost your entire months income is that you settle with the basic. I see people complain that there is no hairdryer, no facility for coffee-making in the room, in other words no extras. One might think about what it encompasses, that one in the end will have to pay more for one`s stay. Bring a small traveller`s hairdryer, for example.

the staff were all lovely. you do have to leave your key at reception every time you leave the hotel which feels quite uncomfortable, but with how nice the staff are it was quite reassuring. the location was good but the street it was on was a bit dodgy with some of the men who hang around there. make sure not to look at them for ages and you’ll be fine. hotel room and toilet was lovely and definetly a good value for money.

The staff were so kind to us and our kids. They always had candy for the kids every time we came to the lobby and were very patient. The beds were comfy, and I loved the fleece blankets. The bathroom was very clean, as was the rest of the room. It was super close to at least three metro stations so traveling to sightsee was very convenient.

The area was rough at times. The metro station that is right around the corner (Barbès-Rochechouart) was always busy with a lot of people standing at the entrance of the station that made my family uncomfortable. We were approached many times to buy prepaid metro tickets and cigarettes and "no" was not enough to have them leave us alone. Sometimes we would walk to the next stations (Anvers, Gare De Nord) to avoid that area.

The staff is friendly and always smiling. They offer good value for money, breakfast is straightforward but worth it if you need to leave early and eat fast. The hotel in general is really simple but works really well, everything was clean.

Well, it's not about the hotel but the neighborhood. It's not the best if you are alone; a lot of people offer you illegal stuff and are really invasive, but if you have company for the trip, that works fine.

The room was clean, spacious and pretty modern. The staff was friendly.

The location is rather controversial. On one hand the hotel located right next to the metro stop, but on the other hand a lot of dubious and shady people are walking around the neighborhood.

The property was in an excellent location to access transport to all of Paris. The room was functional and clean and shower was excellent as was the fan as it was very hot. It was quiet at night as I can be disturbed and I slept well. The man on reception in the day was helpful and the young student on some of the nights absolutely lovely and helpful. Good TV in room but would be better if a smart tv you can link to your phone.

I like a kettle in the room so it was a pain having to go down 3 floors to ask for hot water. The twin room was functional but the beds were so close it was more a double than twin as lack of room between beds. Sadly lift is only ok for a person at a time with luggage or two person without. Internet in room but a little erratic and had to keep resigning in.

For a one star hotel, the room was excellent. The bathroom seemed recently renovated and was nice and clean. The balcony was also a nice addition, providing some cool air. The room was cleaned daily. Staff were nice and very friendly. Conveniently located close to a metro station.

Very sketchy area - witnessed drug dealing, heard a robbery, police searching people, you name it ... Very thin walls, and can hear the people staying in the room next door being very noisy until the early hours.

You can obviously see where it stands in the hierarchy of prices in Paris, so if you expect to pay this much and have a 4 star luxurious experience (like some of the reviewers I saw) that's on you! That being said, the room was very clean and cozy, as expected from pictures and the staff was super friendly. The hotel is right in the Montmartre neighborhood, 10-15 minute walk from Sacre Coeur, very close to the metro. Was easy to get around from there. It is on a back street so it was quiet while we stayed there, especially with the windows closed. There is a really nice old cinema in a historic building very close by, Le Luxor, we went there on a rainy morning, was great! you also have nice cafes for breakfast around.

The way from the metro to the hotel can be a little dodgy with the guys hanging out in the area, but no one bothered us. Not very posh and clean area, but local and familiar. TV only in French, no other language setting.

The location was very central, safe, functional and was well serviced by the metro, pubs, shops and resteraunts. The hotel was clean and great value for money. The sraff at the hotel were very efficient and dealt very swiftly with the fact I had booked a two person room but had asked to have an extra bed put in for the third person. I had got an email back to say it was OK and there would be no charge. The hotel was not aware of my request but did deal with the matter very well. There is 24 hour reception our room, room 42 had a lovely street view. Had a fan at night to keep temperature down

Area was very busy. A lot of men were staring at my daughters.. The three person bedroom we were moved to was very quite and had no view. We requested to stay in the two person room and the hotel agreed.

The staff was really nice and helpful. They gave us valuable advice related to all of our inquiries and helped with our situation. The room was nice and the bathroom clean and equipped with the necessities. Although the neighborhood was a bit sketchy, the location was good - really close to the Metro station and walking distance to Montmartre. Not bad things but just to be aware: - the room (at least our triple room) doesn't have a hairdryer - you can lend one from the reception - they are really nice about it. - we only received one big towel each - not sure if this is the hotel policy, but just take it into consideration if your group needs more.

The triple room was quite small and the beds were crammed together (it looked like another bed was added to a room of 2). The room floor was a bit sticky in an area - so probably not the cleanest.
