location excellent in centre of old town Strasbourg, 200m from the cathedral, 50m from tram, lots of eating options surrounding.

Being an old hotel, there’s no lift and quite steep stairs, but if you can deal with that, the location more than compensates.

The location is perfect for accessing the Christmas markets (next to Cathedral, short walk to Gutenberg and Kléber. We parked at Austerlitz parking lot, since Gutenberg lot is inaccessible while the markets are open. Parking cost was 22€ per day, less 4€ discount with hotel validation (must ask at the front desk), a total of 54€ .

Other customers' reviews mentioned cleanliness, yet I found the hotel was exactly as expected given the age of the building (original 18th century, renovated 2019). The main drawback for me was the noise from the street, given the Christmas market crowds. This was the tradeoff we were willing to make for proximity to the Cathedral, so I recommend bringing earplugs for sleeping.

I am glad I stayed here. It is one of the more affordable and modest accommodations, but it is in a beautiful part (probably THE most beautiful part) of the historic core. You will hear the bells of Strasbourg cathedral from your room, and some rooms have a small view of the cathedral. Everyone on the staff, from the receptionists, to the housekeeping, to the manager, were very kind, charming, and efficient. The beauty of the immediate area, the hominess of the hotel, and the warm-heartedness of the staff made this place a keep for my next visit to Strasbourg. Thank you to everyone at Hotel des Arts.

I love when there is no elevator because I love exercising, but some people may require an elevator. Be prepared for a little bit of low-grade to mid-grade noise in this entirely pedestrian area from people enjoying the cafes, canal-front, etc, (To me it added to the heartwarming vibe since I was on vacation, so it was not a problem.)

location, location,location! absolutely perfect, just round the corner from Strasbourg Cathedral, close to every attraction.

surprisingly spacious shower cabin and the bathroom didn’t have a single hook to hang whatever one takes off before stepping into the shower. also only one small towel rack that was supposed to accommodate four drying towels. in the shower stall no place to put shampoo, conditioner or washing glove. I didn’t expect much of two-star hotel, but it was a bit inconvenient. however, it’s a small price for staying in wonderful location in the heart of Strasbourg.

This is the perfect hotel to stay in for a weekend getaway in Strasbourg. The location is perfect - so close to public transport and right in the Petite France area with heaps of cafes and restaurants and literally steps from the impressive cathedral. The room was small but I spent the majority of my time out exploring Strasbourg anyway. The area is very safe and it was absolutely magical walking around in the evening. The room was very clean and the reception staff were very helpful.

The bathroom is very small but everything worked perfectly.

Location. Literally in the center of the town. That also means you will have to deal with street noise but they have double glazed windows and air conditioning.

I guess rooms were being revamped. Or maybe ours. Carpet could be… I don’t know. Cupboard a bit flimsy but… cheap soap dispensers in the bathroom and the one in our shower was empty. Did not like the fact that air conditioning is monitored and cuts pretty early in the night. Room then becomes hot and you wake up.

Perfectly located on Grande Île for enjoying the Marche de Noël. Welcoming, helpful staff. Large room. Since the area was off limits to vehicles during the Christmastime, it was near enough to the taxi drop off to make our final walk with luggage very easy. The staff booked our return taxi. So helpful. Quiet room.

No lift or bellman. Tiny breakfast area.

Wonderful location. Just steps from the Notre Dame Cathedral, Palace Rohan and all the shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was so much to choose and do right outside the hotel. All the 'must see' locations were within walking distance (petite france, barrage vauban, ponts couverts etc.). Otherwise, the transportation system is very good if not up for a 15 minute walk. The hotel was a quick/easy tram ride from the train station. Our window faced the street and gave us an unique view as we relaxed simply watching the crowd and the city life. There was a farmers market just a block away one of our days. If this is the area of the city you want to stay in - this is the hotel for you.

A wonderful location in a very heart of Strasbourg, just a few steps to the cathedral. The staff was very nice and helpful, tried to respond to any request with attention. The facilities suitable for the hotel stay, all necessary basic things in the room. The price was really good for the location.

Nothing to complain, simple accommodation meeting the expectations.

The location was perfect, with easy access to key sights and restaurants. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. The room, typical of those in historic buildings, was compact but quite comfortable.

I’m accustomed to hauling luggage up stairs and travel with a carryon bag and small backpack, so the lack of an elevator was not a problem. Tourists who have limited mobility or insist on using large bags will have a struggle.
