The location was just perfect, 450 m from the historic elevator where our trails in the national park started, 300 m from the Kirnitzschtalbahn tram, and right next to a very beautiful city park. Our room was very spacious, quiet and clean, with a seating area of 2 armchairs and a low table, and with a nice little balcony overlooking the city park. The bed was comfortable, the curtains were not blackout, but still managed to block out the sun quite well. There were cups, a coffee maker, and a minifridge in the room. The breakfast (starts at 7 am) was very good: scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, regional salads, lots of cold cuts, cheeses (+white and blue mold), breads, jams, fresh yoghurts, vegetables and fruits, and musli-making stuff. It was presented exceptionally well, with decorations of berries and nuts. We liked the hotel premises (a nice little garden) a lot. We also liked the shower and that the shampoo and liquid soap are in wall-mounted squeezable containers.

The hairdryer was abysmal: in the 10 or so minutes I needed to dry my less-than-shoulder-length hair my hand started to ache, as you have to keep the button pressed for the dryer to work. We met a group of ants right on our desk (4-5), probably due to the green surroundings of the hotel. The TV is not watchable from the bed, as it faces perpendicular to it. The breakfast staff asking you for your room number every day feels really awkward and made us uncomfortable. It's unlike everywhere we've ever been to.

An excellent hotel, among the more successful in town, very clean, staff who speak English (this is a rare thing in this part of Germany). Huge room, excellent shower, amazing and very large and indulgent breakfast. Located right in the main square, there are lots of restaurants and cafes around

There is no air conditioner in the rooms and in the hotel, this is a terrible thing in all of Europe and especially in Germany, we visited at a time when the heat was still bearable. But for visitors in July and August it will simply be a nightmare

We had a short stay for a little hiking trip during these weird pandemic times, so the town (and hotel) were almost empty, but the wonderful staff made our stay so lovely! They were really amazing with our 1.5-year-old even bringing out a little ball pit for him to plan in the restaurant/bar area. Really made our trip so pleasant and lovely! The hotel was also generally nice, great location in the centre of the little town and close to all hiking routes, good facilities, good price and a very good hotel restaurant. We’d definitely stay there if we came again.

Nothing much to dislike - the breakfast could start a bit earlier than 8, but that’s really only because our son gets us up at 6 so we had to wait:).

Staff and location were excellent. Excellent coffee and breakfast. Right in the middle of town, but still a quiet corner. Easy walking to the river and Therme. Garden was was cared for. Restaurant exceeded our expectations, but there are good dining options all around as well. Very close to hiking.

Room is somewhat dated with bright orange colors and dated hallways. But the room was large and comfortable. Parking is 100m away, but you can drop off luggage and return, not a big problem.

So many things! The standouts included the helpful staff -- really a bonus to have them make recommendations and to give us advice. We were so impressed with the breakfast! It was a delicious and wonderful spread. The room was spacious and comfortable with a wonderful view into town. I feel so fortunate to have chosen this hotel! Thanks for everything!

The food in the restaurant was not as good as I had expected.

An elegant restaurant with a great breakfast, bright room with large windows and solid furniture, good location - close to the famous tram line.

Loved everything! Big, comfortable room. Bed and pillow were perfect. Breakfast buffet was generous. Located right in the center. Beautiful terrasse. Staff were friendly. There are a few hike trails that start not far away.

Next time, I will stay longer! I had the best sleep in a while. Comfy bed and very quiet room as my visit took place in the off-season when there were just a few other guests. Hotel is a few minutes away from the ferry pier, historic elevator etc.

veggie evening meal a bit disappointing, especially after the previous (superb!!) fish and chicken dishes
