The hotel occupies the 4th floor of an early 20th century art nouveau apartment block, complete with the original elevator. We loved this, it was authentic and utterly old-world charming. Our room had lovely high ceilings and a balcony, and lots of space, and it was quiet despite overlooking a main road. The owner and staff went out of their way to make us welcome and accommodate my need for gluten-free breakfast options, and breakfast was amazing! The hotel doesn’t offer dinner but there is an honesty system for evening drinks and nibbles which are left out for guests.

The shower wasn’t very powerful, and we thought the mattresses were a bit soft, but we do like a very firm mattress. Everything else was perfect.

We had, as requested, a quiet comfort room (room 15) with a nice view to the backyard. The beds were good, and the bathroom, although small, had all sufficient facilities. We would particularly highlight 1) the friendly, knowledgeable and engaged staff in the reception and the breakfast room. 2) The delicious eco-breakfast where everything offered was of high quality.

The wardrobe in room 15 was so small that we hardly could not find room for winter coats, pullovers and dresses for a four days stay. It is nice to be inclusive, and it makes sense to offer rooms for both singles, couples and families. But it was very annoying to have a couple among the hotel guests with a crying baby and another very young child in the nicely decorated breakfast room; it simply spoiled the good atmosphere and the pleasure of the good meal. Why don´t you set a limit at, for example, 7 years for accompanying children if you want to develop the brand as a boutique hotel?

Great location and neighborhood with nice dining options. Beautiful & historic building. Interesting details, for example, the old elevator. Amazing, healthy, delicious breakfast and good coffee.

Some details in the room were not well thought out, for example, we could not watch the TV from the bed nor the sofa, the bathroom door bumped against the towel rail all the time, there were 2 seperate blankets on the bed. Some design choices were questionable, taking into account the architecture of the building and the price. Some furniture pieces and floors were worn out.

From the moment I caught the old lift up to the 4th floor reception and was welcomed by the host Christine to the time we left, our stay was utter perfection. I was in a party which took four rooms, each with different arrival times but we all had the same magnificent experience. The beds, décor, showers, service were all faultless. We hadn't prepaid but decided to take breakfast, which was one of the nicest breakfasts I've eaten recently. I can not praise this highly enough.

There is nothing to say other than the time could have gone slower, so that we could have had longer there.

The hotel is a beauty on itself, located in an old Berlin building and with this feeling of past times done with good taste. The old elevator lift is an experience on itself. I especially liked the room where the breakfast was served and enjoyed to wonderful atmosphere that was created. The breakfast on itself was one of the best I had on my travels. There are also options for vegan milk and wheat free bread. Overall a wonderful experience.

The chairs and tables form the conference room where collected in the corridor on the second floor which was not such a nice outlook when I entered the hotel for the first time. But that is a detail compared with all the rest.

The location was great for exploring the Ku’damm. The hotel added another special element to our stay in Berlin, this vibrant and history filled city could be felt between the walls of this hotel. Beautifully restored and a lot of the original elements were kept without rushing to modernise them which I enjoyed. The dining room is very warm and welcoming.

We could hear absolutely everything from the room above us, including when they removed hangers from the closet at 5am but then I think this is just part of being in this historical building.

Beautiful, historic interior very carefully curated. Heaven for people who love history. Maybe not the best for people who love modern hotels. Friendly, personable proprietorship; service felt very personal rather than transactional. We also loved the communal dining room with a self-service bar. We had a lovely self-catered dinner basically in private, in a gorgeous 19th century dining room. It felt like staying overnight in a museum. Absolutely loved it.

We loved the whole experience, but the bathroom in our room was just a small simple shower. Note if you like a big bathtub.

I really enjoyed the home feeling and the beauty of the art nouveau building. Bed very comfortable, silence in the room. Wifi is good and amazing breakfast. The breakfast room is delicious. Everything was very pleasant. I surely recommend this place. It is in the middle between a private apt and a hotel since you have your total autonomy with the service oh an hotel.

The only thing I missed was a common space with couches for reading or having a drink.

Really lovely place to stay. Decor of rooms gorgeous. Make sure to try the Art Deco lift. Also, there is beautiful art on all the walls, and wonderful coffee table books about art, Berlin, interiors, etc. The location is superb - a really quiet street but only a short 10min walk from Savigny platz and just over 15mins to Zoogarten

It would be wonderful if the towels had been a bit fluffier but on the scale of things, that's just a minor quibble.

Great location and stuff, exceptional breakfast!

The rooms are old (which is fine, as this is authentic altbau building), but not very clean (there was dust under the bed and in the corners). And they didn’t clean sanitary a single time while we were staying there for 2 weeks :( Not a big deal, rather a comment for management, who were all very friendly and nice.
