It's very simple, straight forward place - nothing fancy, just the basics. Beds were okay, bathroom was clean, internet connection stable and receptionist nice. Location is also good, there's a metro station, railway stop and multiple bus stops nearby.

No major negatives, just the fact that it's fairly spartan accommodation. Probably not the ideal place to take your girl on honeymoon, but just fine if you're visiting the city with bunch of friends. Considering I was there to do the latter and spent most of the time outside anyway, it was completely satisfactory.

Great location with excellent transport links from the airport and all over Berlin. Great choice of restaurants of all kinds close by. Very safe area to walk around. Close to the main shopping street if that’s your thing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent budget choice for those only needing a clean, comfortable bed and decent shower.

The only downside was the lack of a lift!

The hotel must have been grand in it's heydays, but there was plenty left of it's charms still. A fabulous location primarily. Large room with high ceilings, a small but beatifully functional bathroom en suite. Very good bed. Nice light fixtures, a writing desk, a small table. Great WiFi and very quiet. I loved it and will happily stay there again.

If there had been a small fridge it would have been perfect.

The location was spectacular. Beautiful neighborhood, all the top designer stores are right there. Cute little restaurants all over, very easy access to subway and bus

Beware that you will need to climb up 4 flights of steep stairs, no elevator. We got there at 1:20 pm and there was no way to access the hotel because the receptionist was on her lunch break. Which is fine, but it would be useful to know beforehand, so as not to stand on the street with your luggage, trying to figure out how to enter (especially after a long transatlantic flight). The floor is EXTREMELY creaky. I know it's an old building, but it is ridiculously noisy. Light sleepers will have trouble if sharing with a roommate. We were in room 30, I don't know if all the rooms have the same problem.

Room was a good size. The room was cleaned and made up every day. Hotel was close to restaurants and transportation

No lift and the stairs were a bit treacherous. I walk with a cane and have to use a handrail. The steps narrowed where the handrail was so it felt treacherous to me.

I liked this hotel because it is classic traditional Berlin accommodation (19th century building with hotel on first floor, above shops/offices below) in an attractive and practical location. (KuDamm 2 mins walk in one direction; Savignyplatz S-Bahn station with trains to all the central A list sights 5 mins in the other.)The bedroom itself was spacious. You could actually open the windows!

It was disappointing that the lift wasn't working (out of the hotel's control; the building does not belong to them); and it was especially disappointing that staff shortages mean no breakfast is currently available (I LOVE German rolls with cheese, then jam for breakfast). The organic bakery immediately opposite was a convenient alternative, but they did not sell the bog standard round, white rolls that I like. My en suite shower room was very cramped.

First of all, I really liked the staff! Attentive, polite, lovely people! They offered everything I could possibly need. The location is excellent! And, of course, the building itself—a house with a charming old-world atmosphere! I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Berlin!

The gentleman at the front desk was so helpful and amazing! Great walking distance for the public transit and food.

Could hear outside the room and the stairway easily but older building what do you expect!

clean, comfortable, simple room with high ceiling, so it is spacious i booked very early, so the price is very affordable considering its location ( close to zoo train station - 15 min walk)

the floors are wooden, it's nice however when somebody walks in the corridor, it becomes noisy. elevator was not working and my room was on the 3rd floor.

Excellent reception! Big room, clean bathroom. There was no late checkout but we could leave our bags with the receptionist until 3pm (12pm checkout). The area is nice, lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Keycard allows you to enter the building and room and functioned perfectly. Hotel was quiet. High ceilings, room let light in.

As everyone has already said, it's dated and could use a renovation. The fabrics and carpet caused allergies for one of us. There was no housekeeping for the 3 days we were there. There was no reception when we arrived at 12pm (2pm checkin) so we couldn't leave our bags to walk around while waiting. No fridge, no food or vending machine. Really bad mattresses and the pillows go completely flat so not adequate for side-sleepers.
