Good breakfast, clean rooms, proximity to station and shops. Given adjoining rooms as per request. Children given a treat upon arrival while we completed the check-in process.

The parking garage was not tall enough for our car with roofbox. Reception helped find an alternative (main station) but this also had a height restriction (tall enough) but was stressful. The pool was out of action for our stay. This was very disappointing as it was the primary reason we chose this hotel rather than a budget option. Breakfast delicious, despite me putting porridge on my toast, thinking it was a funny looking scrambled egg! Labelling could have helped.

Location is good, opposite main train station. Rich and tasty breakfast buffet and nice coffee quality. Very gentle and smiling personnel as well. I would recommend this Hotel for a short stay below 3 days and only for single use or as a couple.

Hotel needs an urgent room and bathroom renovation. It's unacceptable for a Hotel in 2023 to have one free power socket for charging, mobiles and tablets. Especially if you are family you need to disconnect the side table light to have at least one more socket free. Timing and quality of housekeeping services may varies from day to day, which is unacceptable for this price per overnight. Never understand also the reason that food and beverage departments are open only on specific days during afternoon and night. I would recommend these details to be clearly visible before you go for booking it.

We stayed here for only one night and it was absolutely perfect for our needs as we had an earlyish train from the Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station) which is literally just across the road. We sadly didn't have time to use the pool and we didn't have breakfast so we can't comment on those but the room was big (we booked a family room for 4 of us and it was a large double and a large pull out sofa, already made up). The room had a mini fridge and a Nespresso machine. The bathroom and shower were lovely, room was spotless. Can't complain and would definitely stay again!

Excellent location very convenient especially if you travel by train (2min walk from station) but still not noisy. It also takes few minutes of walk to reach old town area. There are eateries nearby as well as other shops. The breakfast was very good with large selection of foods and drinks. Hotel has a swimming pool small but the kids had fun. Their selection of shampoo and other products in bathrooms was generous instead of those tiny bottles you usually get. It was a very comfortable stay.

This was the first hotel we’ve stayed in for a long time that actually had a seriously comfortable bed and pillows! This is what means the most to us when travelling because having a good night’s sleep is so important to enjoy our vacation to the fullest. Location is perfect - right next to the main station, close to trams and so many options to eat nearby. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the chocolate cake I ordered from room service was incredible. It was also nice to be able to open our windows in the hotel room for fresh air.

The swimming pool is perfect for kids. The hotel is right in the middle of the city, you can easily walk anywhere. Nespresso coffee maker in the room.

There is no safe box in the room. The hotel is now dated and should be renovated. Parking is expensive and you are not guaranteed a space. Sofa bed was worn out with a hole, so it was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The shower was really bad, every minute water went from cold to boiling hot.

Our family have been staying in Hotel Novotel in Freiburg, Germany for a few nights. Our room was clean and tidy every day, the staff was really hospitable and always ready to help. Suddenly for some personal reasons we needed to leave earlier than was initially booked with Booking.com. The receptionist we met — her name was Julia (Yuliia) — solved all the problems quickly and professionally. We’ve also been very much impressed by her friendliness and immaculate manners. We loved the location, the hotel was clean, breakfast was excellent and the pool / sauna was a great facility. Really happy with the stay overall.

We didn't have enough pillows and the kids had been given just one small duvet to share...we asked for another one and we're told we got lucky to get the 'last' one...surely Novotel can invest in enough pillows and blankets.

This is a very old fashioned hotel (the lights in the room do not require the key card and there is space for a phone... but very comfortable and certainly up to the standard of a 4 starts, which is fantastic for the price. It's also perfect to visit Freiburg for a short stay as it is in the city centre, very close to the station.

Nothing in particular. The breakfast was extremely expensive in our opinion (21 euros per person) so we did not have it. Compared to the price of the room, which was excellent, this seemed out of range.

The spa and sauna are really nice, and the long opening hours are good (but there are no bath robes). All members of staff were friendly and helpful. 16 € for one day in the underground carpark is fair. The location is excellent, everything is reachable on foot.

Breakfast staff could refill empty milk etc. quicker.
