Excellent location near to the station and the centre. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. Free tickets for local public transport was an unexpected bonus. The guest lounge offered self service free tea and coffee all day.

Our room overlooked the main road and unfortunately there were roadworks being carried out which started around 8am every morning and were very noisy (not the hotel's fault). In fairness we were offered a move to a quieter room at the back but it was a smaller room and we couldn't be bothered to move all our stuff. The wifi was slow and not very reliable.

The room was very clean and offers everything you need. You can even play relaxing music before sleep by pulling a rope attached to the bed. The staff is friendly and helpful. They helped us store the luggage after checkout and even offered two bottles of water. Appart from tea/coffee offered in the room you could prepare any time also in the lobby. Sauna and fitness room were small and fit only for 2-3 people maybe but there was no one at the time we went so we enjoyed it a lot. Sauna had a very nice aroma. Everything was very clean and had all you need (towels, water, lockers, relaxing room etc). Location is also top. A highly recommended hotel.

Super nicely located hotel, it is an old building, fully refurbished, the staff was very nice and welcoming, I was offered coffee and tea in a comfy lounge if I had to wait for my room to be ready (got there before check in time), it is very centrally located, 2-3 blocks from the start of the Old Town, gorgeous town to see and walk around, it is 3 blocks too from the railway station, very convenient to move elsewhere by train, comfy room, nice bed, super nice bed linen and towels, bathrobe, all the details thought of. I was in a regular room, nothing fancy, yet the details in the room and the bed were very welcoming. Music in the bathroom, chocolate on the bed, complimentary water and caramelized almonds (xmas weekend), nice view to the street and park in front, quiet, etc. Would use it again if I were in Freiburg.

The room was quiet and overlooked trees in the small park opposite the hotel. It was well equipped with kettle, cups and a selection of tea, as well as guest slippers and dressing gown. I slept exceptionally well and was delighted with the cotton bedding. The shower room was small but agreeably designed with presumably fairly recent new washbasin and shower. The quality of the large television screen was excellent. I chose the hotel because of its location near the train station. At breakfast I was delighted to have a cafetière of decaffeinated coffee and a good selection of different bread. The breakfast room is spacious and restful.

There was no rug on the floor of the bedroom. I did not like the tall cocoon-like shape of the lamp (room 310). I thought EUR 20 was slightly too much for my coffee, glass of bottled fruit juice and bread and butter. However, this is a usual price and would be correct for someone with a hearty appetite who eats eggs etc for breakfast.

Great location, just a few blocks from the train station, so easy to walk from there, and also a short walk the the city center. Lots of food choices nearby, both restaurants and markets. Very good breakfast (18 Euros) although breakfast room was overcrowded. Comfortable bed and bedding. Very clean. Fridge and electric kettle in room. Prides itself on being green. Friendly and helpful staff. I would stay here again.

I stayed alone in a double room. It was fine for me, but I think it would have been a small room and especially bed for two people to share. Breakfast room was overcrowded. This was not a problem for me, but others should know there are maybe 10 steps you'll need to carry your luggage up before you access the lobby. From there, there are elevators to other floors.

We stayed on room 111 over Christmas. There was a drainage problem in the shower that was fixed immediately. The hotel staff is just wonderful. From check in, to breakfast, inquiries check out. The location is excellent and very walkable. Don't let the *Best Western* fool you. It's a full service hotel. Even if you don't eat breakfast (which is very well done), peek into the wood paneled dining room. It's lovely - like stepping back in time. We will stay there again when visiting our family on Freiburg. Truly a dog friendly hotel. I will review on bring fido.

Minor - dust behind the TV and on the edges of the mirror. I grew up in a Hotelier family and have done every job you can imagine in a full service hotel. Other than that, our room was spotless

Excellent location - just between the railway station (5 mins on foot) and the old town; we could see the Christmas fair from our window. Numerous restaurants, some pharmacies and a very good supermarket on the same street. Very child-friendly! Nice staff, almost everyone speaks English/French. Great breakfasts. The room was really soundpoof, we didn't hear any noise at all.

Cleanliness was not on par... Bedsheets and towels were fresh and clean, but it looked like no one ever cleared limescale in the bathroom and there were some dust bunnies under the furniture. Moreover, the cleaning lady decided which low-running items to refill somewhat randomly, so we ended without paper tissues and sanitary bags at some point (critical when you travel with a toddler!).

Perfect location, a short walk to both the main rail station and the Old Town. Excellent coffee, good breakfast buffet, helpful staff. Luggage storage. Gave us a day pass to use the local transport system without buying individual tickets and advised how to validate it (definitely helpful for those not as familiar with validating tickets). Good for families-we traveled with a preteen and a teen and had a suite that worked well!

Very nice bathroom, but no door and shower enclosure was clear, which made a private shower difficult.

Comfortable beds, sound proofing - couldn't hear any other guests or outside noise when windows closed, shutters on window kept room nice and dark, hotel is eco friendly with power coming from solar panels, very cosy and warm, lovely touches such as moss wall features and lullaby music, central location, friendly staff. Lounge with free tea and coffee and lots of board games was cosy.

I didn't think the breakfast was worth the price, it was fairly basic and standard and not much choice. Have food intolerances so struggled to make the most of the price with what was on offer.

Very good location, excellent attention. Quite room, beautiful views over the parc /botanic garden. Very beautiful breakfast room. Cozy, quite and ellegant.

Attention: to access the hotel via the main entrance there are many stairs until you reach the reception: if you have bulky luggage or wheelchair is not good. They had a funny environmental policy, that they don^t tidy your room unless you ask for it. Since this is very unusual in hotels, one could forget to explicitly request the cleaning.
