Great location near central station for the overnight stop, good breakfast, comfortable and warm rooms.

It will be great to be offered some help with the luggage on arrival. In the morning we saw homeless person sleeping in the chair in the corner of the lobby.

The location was really great. The hotel is very impressive when you first walk in. I loved the art deco style and the facilities around the reception area.

The room was very small, which surprised me since the lobby was so spacious and I did not expect such a small room. I forgot the charging cable for my phone and wasn’t able to get one since it was Sunday. The staff was not able to assist and charge my phone, which I found surprising. I walked over to another hotel where they just plugged my phone in and charged it it for me. We forgot the correct combination for the safe and the hotel was not able to get the technician to open the safe! The toiletries in the bathroom in a better hotel usually include a soap, q tips, cotton balls, etc. Now it’s just a liquid soap and a liquid lotion.

Brilliant experience from the first moment. We arrived at 11:30 and without any problems got early check-in. Thank you for that :) The hotel lobby is a beautiful, great bar and relaxing area. We stayed in a Medium King Room with beautiful decor, huge bed, the room was not medium but Large in my opinion :) Very comfortable beds. Amazing breakfast with a large selection of fried and cold items, chef cooking omelets etc.. Most important breakfast is served until 12 PM. We would recommend that hotel for a weekend or few days to any one who want to stay in Hamburg city center. Hotel offer much higher level than most of 4 star hotels I know. Amazing value for money.

Everything was superb :) We loved everything during our stay at the hotel.

The hotel was lovely - perfectly located. The accommodation was comfortable and the facilities delightful. The hotel itself is charming and the attention paid to the maintenance of the historical detail superb. Breakfast was wonderful and dietary requirements understood and catered for perfectly. It is a gracious, even luxurious, hotel and we would highly recommend it.

However, we had chosen the hotel for a special occasion and particularly to dine in the superb Stadt Restaurant. The hotel boasts of its attention to dietary requirements and I had made known our special requirements when booking. Once seated, we were disappointed when the waiter looked totally uncomprehending about our need for gluten free and retired to the kitchen to consult the chef. He returned with a piece of paper on which he had listed 2 or 3 options which he thought could be provided GF. We did eventually have a lovely dinner but what should have been a special occasion was instead a rather uncomfortable and anxious evening which was disappointing. A little attention to education and training in this area would be so easy and make such a difference!!!

This is a great family hotel. Our family room was large, 2 adults, one 8 year old. The sofa bed was already set up when we arrived and still plenty of space. The bathroom was also super modern and also big with a walk-in shower and bath. Dispensers with shampoo, conditioner and body lotion were all provided at the sink and in the shower and bath. Ample towels were also provided. The room was meticulously cleaned every morning, so a big thumbs up to the cleaning staff! I didn't find the pillows particularly comfortable, but they are 'German' style and my husband had somewhat of a breakout on his skin the first night after sleeping on them that he had to put a T-shirt over one to sleep. He has no allergies! Me and my son had no problems! An Nespresso machine was also in the room, fantastic as I like to drink my coffee in bed in the mornings. Across the road are 2 coffee shops that sell bio degradable capsules, so I stocked up! If you are a breakfast person, it will cost you €25 pp ahead at the hotel. We aren't, so I can't comment on the breakfast! But across the road, fantastic pastries and coffee but also not cheap if you are on a budget. Great location, some fantastic restaurants walking distance around the area but wouldn't say it is one of the better areas of Hamburg! Taxis are dirt cheap, I ordered Uber most of the time, but the normal taxis are also under Uber, so there was nothing much in price difference and they came quicker!

There was really nothing not to like! Check-in was easy, super friendly staff which is not easy to find in Hamburg!

The decor was beautiful, it really was a bit of luxury as soon as you walk through the door. Beds were very cosy. The hotel’s location was perfect for the city, a short hop from the very well connected train station and well connected to the airport ( we took the train and very easy and quick). All the staff we spoke to were friendly and kind and v helpful, we had a lovely chat with a young concierge who told us the best places to visit and made our day trip one to remember- seriously a great stay nothing was too much trouble.

A stunning hotel - the communal areas are exceptional and give a real sense of grandeur. The bedrooms are large, well appointed and maintained to an exemplary standard- it was spotless throughout. The bathroom included a bath and generously sized separate shower with powerful shower head. The breakfast was outstanding- the selection diverse and of excellent quality. An enjoyable and luxurious stay.

The location was perfect for the train station which was our reason for selecting as a brief stopover between journeys. For staying in the city for a longer period, it is not a location I would choose.
