The interior is lovely and the hotel is very quite. The area is just perfect for walks and strolls around the Alster, Buses just stop in front of the hotel, but you could walk towards the inner city or central station. There are plenty of Cafes and Restaurants around.

The quality of the attached Bar decreased, we had some bad experience with the behaviour of the service staff and the music ambiance is not matching the environment. The service and the music used to be much better. Anyhow the barkeepers will surprise with their skills if you are looking for exclusive Cocktails.

The George Hamburg is a beautiful hotel, and our room was very comfortable. We appreciated the excellent access to bus lines that brought us quickly to the airport, the harbor, and everywhere else we wanted to go. We rented bicycles to ride around the city. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent, though a la carte.

We did not expect to pay for breakfast, which was quite expensive. Borrowing bicycles should also have been included, perhaps with just a deposit.

Liked the bar area in the evening. Location is ideal for reaching restaurants at the Aussenalster and in the backstreets. Interior is great especially the british living room.

The bikes were very basic and could have been a bit higher quality. Room was quite small but that is probably what you get when you book this Deluxe rooms... My wife did not like the dark hallways to the rooms.

Even though the hotel is not so new any more it's still in a great and well kept situation. Everything's very clean, the bed is extremely comfortable and the room itself is very spacious and very well furnished. The very big closets are a pleasant surprise for a design hotel.

I wasn't told that breakfast is included in my rate at check-in so I opted to eat somewhere else and only got the information at check-out, when I payed for the night.

A short block walk to the bus stop, with access to the central train station and access to all the places we wanted to visit. Many restaurants and shops in the area, and one block from Alster Lake. Wonderful Italian restaurant in house, great staff.

Unfortunately, the top floor area was not available and the spa/sauna area was rented out to a private party.

Great location near the Alster, beautiful property, our room was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant DaCaio was great with wonderful food.

Access to the rooftop seating area was limited, it closed before sunset, we would have loved to see the sunset from there.

A great hotel, very styleful interior. Well organized and warm welcome. Someone was always available at the reception. The suite was available even before 3:00pm. The location is good. It is about 16min walk to the central station, the airport is about 20-25min away by cab (about 30EUR). In less than 5min you can reach restaurants, food bars and supermarkets. The neighborhood is mixed and very lively. The suite was clean and very nicely decorated. A lot of attention to detail. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our weekend trip very much.

Points are deducted for the shower head and the toilet seat, which unfortunately do not meet the rest of the equipment. The TV in the bathroom also raises expectations that are not met (therefore better to leave out completely). If you like to sleep with the window open, you may feel disturbed by the noise of the street.

THE GEORGE is for sure one of the best boutique style hotels in hamburg. in combination with it`s restaurant / bar "da caio" it offers a incredible combination. this bar is the hot spot to be on weekends with a stylish atmosphere for excellent cocktails and fantastic food selection. and the location just steps away from the "aussenalster" , a beautiful city central lake is simply stunning.

Rome meets London in this amazingly cosy hotel full of beautiful details, wonderful atmosphere and warming welcoming staff. A place like home where we immediately feel comfortable and invited to relax. And to enjoy the fantastic restaurant or the trendy bar with such a cool vibe, all in this place for design lovers and architecture enthusiasts.

Modern hotel located 20 min walk from town hall, so is not central. But as we walk everywhere it is not a problem and it is on a bus route. Thee upside is that there are some good bars and places to eat nearby in the evening. Plus some very good places for breakfast. The room was clean and a good size. I would be happy to stay here again.
