This is just an absolutely charming hotel to stay at. Its unmistakably stylish and quirky design paired with excellent service is a wonderful combination for everyone looking to visit Karlsruhe. The rooms are very clean, tidy and comfy, plus there is a brewery on site which guests receive special coupons for. Asides the overall atmosphere being lovely inside the hotel and brewery; the location is lovely, quiet and convenient, being only a five minute walk away from the central city area. We loved everything and will definitely be coming back.

I really liked the value for money. As some former customers pointed out in their reviews, the room and toilet interior is a bit vintage but has its charm. Also, I liked TV programs offered, for example, there was a channel which broadcasted some documentary films on German life in 70s and 80s.

I have nothing in particular to complain about. Maybe to mention that the trash from the bins wasn't cleaned every day, but that's the policy of the hotel - perhaps.

Breakfast was really good, it had everything. Decent selection of vegan options (I'm not vegan but might be useful info for someone). The single room was nice, clean, comfortable. Staff was friendly, speaking English was fine. I would stay here again!

Gets quite hot in the room, was fine for my stay when it was 27-28 degrees outside, but hotter than that and it might be quite uncomfortable. Probably good to bring ear plugs of you're noise sensitive, it's a lively area (not like rowdy or anything, it didn't bother me, just might be good to know).

Big rooms, excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. A perfect location and place to stay the night while traveling by car (which we did).

Rooms are numbered in some non-obvious way, so finding our rooms was a bit tricky at first. Also, in one of the rooms that we booked, the wall separating the bathroom was made of glass and entirely transparent, without any curtains.

We were positively surprised by the funny architecture of the building; we arrived at the very old fashioned hotel, but our room was in a building behind this building and this was a very artistic funny looking building that continued to the inside. The room was spacious and had a nice bathtub. Everything looked a bit dated, but it surely had its charm. Breakfast was also very good.

The interior can use a bit of a refresher (some paint and new carpet)

Quite an original building. The associated Bierstube is super value for the money. Nice staff and breakfast Practical underground parking with 4 car charging stations. During my whole stay it was always possible to get one.

The way to the rooms may appear long, because of the special construction, but at least it is even accessible with a wheelchair

The breakfast, cleaning, wifi was good. The location is central. You have a small garden, a restaurant open until late and parking for cars.

The hotel has a main building and another two in the backyard. I stay in an old building in the backyard. My room doesn't have any view and my windows cannot let opened (for security reasons). And in the parking is hard to find a place.

Omg !! This is the strangest and weirdest property you may ever stay in. When I first went in I thought I had made a big mistake booking it. The property, the rooms and the friendly staff grow on you. It’s the most memorable stay that I have had for quite some time.

Location, quite, antique , spacious, good value for money

It seemed the lift was not available. This time I came with small suitcases walked up to the second floor. Usually I will need to stay at least 5 nights with bigger luggage, can’t imagine how I can bring the luggage to upstairs. But maybe the lift can be used under request

Perfect location, close to the main centre and beautiful parks. Classic old-style German hotel, with many quirks and much charm. Loved it. (It is what it is - its not the Hilton evidently, is somewhat of a tired old place in need of some TLC - But, overall it was wonderfully comfortable, room was nice and quiet, staff were friendly, minimal fuss. I'd stay again for sure.
