The room was always clean, had enough space and had a fan which was a lifesaver. The staff was very helpful and would respond very quickly to my questions. Also could get a kettle from the lobby which was great. Its ~10 minute walking distance to the cathedral, multiple tram stations, as well as a massive park opposite side of the cathedral so very central location. Also sometimes you get to see the two most lovely cats in the lobby and it just makes you happy. Keycode access meaning not having to carry around a bulky key is a plus.

The pillow was sort of a big square and sometimes it would end up in weird shapes. Shower tends to splash outside the shower area a lot despite the curtain. Neither is a deal breaker though.

the hotel is in a great location. only a 10 minute walk from the train station. the keyless entry is amazing. it’s so convenient and you have no chance of loosing your key. the rooms were spotless and fresh. there was a sink in the room which is great. the shared bathroom was always clean. I was on the top floor, so had to carry my back up the stairs, but I’m happy to do that for the higher level. rooms on the lower floors would hear their neighbours up too. I would stay here again.

it was a bit more expensive that some other similar properties.

Near the main train station and just a quick walk straight down the street. Room was very clean, well-lit, and has facilities as listed. It was also pleasant to see the owner made improvements based on past guest reviews (e.g. plugs near the bed, bath mat, kettle), and I had no issues with water or room temperature. She was very responsive and helpful both online and at the hotel. My room was tidied everyday so it was nice to come back to. It was not big but it didn’t need to to be a good stay.

Location is perfect. In proximity to the main cathedral. Owner is very helpful. Although room is only 8m2 it is surprisingly enough big for single person. Very quiet and clean. In ground floor is a room with big table and 6-8 chairs, to take morning coffee or eat something on your own. Additional useful thing is that for entering the hotel main door and room you do not need any keys. You use code which is very convenient.

Hard to say .... maybe narrow steep stairs to reach the room.

Location was brilliant - 5-10 min walk to main cathedral. Room was spacious with most things you would need. There was a bonus of a room downstairs with table you could sit in at night with friends. Bed was comfortable and there was adequate linen/towels. Owner/manager was very friendly and often popped into the downstairs room to say hi (and bought us cake!)

No kettle or tea/coffee making facilities in room. Although the room downstairs was nice it had no toilet facilities, there was no lift and we were on the top floor 6 flights up! There was a lot of noise at night from local bar and street so leaving windows open was a no no - with no aircon it would have been awful in summer temperatures

Self check-in was seamless and easy. Location is great - walking distance from the main train station, city center and many nice cafes, restaurants & bars a couple minutes away from the hotel.

It was summer (around 30 deg in day time) and because our room was on the top floor, it was quite stuffy and hot in the room. I can imagine the rooms on the lower floors would be a lot cooler. Also I'm not a big fan of those large square soft german pillows.

Very clean and very nice furnishing. I have to report that I was traveling with my family, and my 3 year old kid have had a problem of health on our last night... The owner was so kind to find an extra room for us (for free!) so that we could wait for our plane (that was late night) inside and with a bed and a bathroom. That has been priceless. Thanks Mrs. Sandra!!!

My room was located on the top floor, the bathroom was shared, the room was clean and quiet. The landlord's instructions are clear, checkin is very convenient, not far from Cologne Cathedral, 15 minutes' walk away. Surrounded by bars and shops.

It would be nice if the room had an elevator. But climbing to the third floor is not a difficult thing.

Easy self check in to the hotel. The hotel was close to the city centre and easy to get to the train station, Cathedral, museums, etc

Sounds from the stairs as other guests walked up them/chatted on them travelled into the room easily

very comfortable bed and a clean room with good blinds, good value

the stairs are steep and there is no fan/air con. if you have really heavy bags message the property in advance to get a room on the lower floor. they were very accomodating to me and let me store my big heavy suitcase downstairs for the night
